@@btarczy5067 I'm not talking about PVE, I'm talking about PVP. Either way it is also by a longshot the easiest fromsoft game from a pve perspective, but as I stated I'm not talking about pve. In fact I'd go so far as to say Elden Ring being a bit more forgiving on the pve end is a good thing. It's still challenging but brought in new players, at least some of which will then go on to play the other titles. Pvp wise though, it is a complete shit show and has been made WAY too easy in favor of hosts. DS3 was much better in that regard. There is no reason why the game is set up the way it is in that regard. Invasions were meant to be a balance for summoning or going through in human form (I guess rune arc active would be this games equivalent). Now it's barely a challenge unless the host and his over leveled phantoms are literal drooling morons, which is often the case, which only speaks to the necessity of proper invasions. These hosts are not in any way required to actually learn the game mechanics when they can summon in 2 level 700 phantoms to just steamroll everything for them, when at most they'll have to contend with a single invader

Especially with ER & DS3, once you start playing a lot, they feel buttery smooth for a souls game. What really impresses me is Chase keeps up good spacing & movement even through bad latency. Thats what i really struggle with
Chase had over 5k hours just on ds3 alone, and that's something I remember him mentioning well before ER was released, his ability to adapt so fast is born of experience few can match.
Dude literally got 3 guys to help him, and he still manage to be a coward and run ALL THE CASTLE to the boss fight after feeling himself good with that bleed talons build, LOL, definitely got smoked by the crucible knight.
That host had clearly heard bloodflame claws with endure was broken and just built it without understanding it. Watching them endure before every attack, which Chase effortlessly counterplayed by simply backing up, was hilarious. Even with very strong set ups like that with great pressure, gamesense and spacing still has the most value.
The fog wall is priceless. Dude had help from 3 blues while taunting and still have THE GULL to go out as soon as he is out matched… At the point is more embarrassing to do that then just dying in a duel I don’t get these ppl who only enjoy winning effortlessly
From someone who was one in the ds1 days, I can tell you it's someone who has a fragile and under-developed ego, who externalizes their self worth into online competition. To us, it's a silly game, to them, it's much more. A little deep for a Chase video but hey I think the world is better with a little understanding of others :)
Dude coulda had a pretty fun hosting session if it werent for the marathon & fogwall. Albeit some annoying builds, but that was a lot of phantoms. Coulda been more battle.
For anyone who is curious, you do not need to do any of Kenneth's quest for the Nepheli or Gostoc quests, you can do Fort Haight then kick Kenny off of the ruins for an extra early Golden Seed. If you kill him all you miss is extra dialogue, but no item rewards.
Most of it seems to be clearing out all the chaff from your inventory and then putting back the weapons/rings/tools/etc. you actually use, and doing so in an order that groups up your stuff so you dont have to ever navigate far to find what you need. The rest of Chase's quickness with it is just muscle memory from a decade of doing hotswaps lmao

It doesn't really break his questline, but you can meet Alexander in a tunnel between caelid and east limgrave. I think it was called Caelid tunnel, but not sure. You can also start Hyetta's questline. For the map from Fia I think you first need to talk to Rogier in roundtable hold. If you swear service to Ranni before Rogier asks you to, he will fall asleep. I'm not sure if that way you lose his armor set. For weapons, you could get the grave scythe, a personal favourite of mine and quite suited to str/arc builds, and you could get the lance in limgrave just a little east of the warmaster shack if you to focus on str first. There is also the sacred vow ash of war nearby.

The Lucerne is very good at dealing with dragons since it deals pierce which they're weak to; it also has a halberd moveset which reaches their head very well. You could also put gravitas on it and use it to kill birds.

That redmane fog wall was the most dishonorable one Ive seen. Long fought battle, 3 hunters, nothing to lose since the grace room was right there. Tries to fight, sees they’re matched or out matched instead of fighting (again, nothing at risk) they take the cowardly way out.
the grafted dragon does ok damage, it just needs a lot of faith investment despite it having a low faith requirement. That phantom was also not overlevelled (they were lower level than the host based on the runes they dropped)and probably didn't have it upgraded very high since they seemed to be a fairly honest build that only had starter gear and stuff from limgrave. I promise that the only reason people think it's totally useless is because they either never encounter an optimized build using it or they only fight people who try to hit them with the weak long range part of it. that being said, it is a skill that almost entirely relies on trading at close range, which is never the best thing in a game with such high damage.
ranni gets sleepy when recieving finger slayer blade at any point in the game, for altus i always make sure to talk to goldmask and tell corwhin first bc he'll die of loneliness real quick
Creature is made of flesh: you can poison/bleed Creature is made of wood: you can poison but not bleed Creature is made of anything else: probably neither

the grafted dragon does ok damage, it just needs a lot of faith investment despite it having a low faith requirement.
