Mamos, the legendary brewery of Patras

In this video we present the story of the legendary but abandoned today beer factory in Patras, the brewery "Mamos". It was the first Greek brewery to be awarded abroad for the excellent quality of its beer by exporting even to Germany. Today, in the largest part where the factory was built, apartment blocks have been built, but there is a fairly large piece that is abandoned but looks impressive from above with the drone.

@@XPISTOESSA Προφανώς το χώρο τον πούλησαν για οικόπεδα οι ιδιοκτήτες. Από ότι έψαξα λίγο στο ίντερνετ υπάρχει ο Παναγής Μάμος, δισέγγονος του Λορέντζου Μάμου που είναι εκπρόσωπος της οικογένειας και έκανε τη συμφωνία με την Αθηναϊκή ζυθοποιία για την επανακυκλοφορία της μπύρας.

@@AgionOros I have a video but actually not in the internet, maybe some day :-( . The monks started brewing because of the lent period. So thex did not eat much but they drank much beer. The Beer of Andechs is very strong. Every year on Thursday bevor October festival 7000 people from New Sealand meet there to drink beer. Then they sleep in tents in Thalkirchen in Munich in the camping area. You will find a lot about Kloster Andechs with Google :-) Best wishes!

Εδώ στην Καλαμάτα υπήρχε ένα εργοστάσιο σαπουνοποιϊας (Λιναρδακη) γκρέμισαν το εργοστάσιο και έφτιαξαν το Μέγαρο χορού ....και στο χώρο του υπάρχουν οι φούρνοι και κάποια μηχανήματα από το εργοστάσιο ......

You told me wonderfully, the history of the Patras brewery. The owner was educated in well-deserved brewing centers: Munich and Pilsen.

Thank you for sharing this interesting history of the brewery. What a shame it is no longer in use ! I hope someone can preserve what is left of it ? It would be a shame for it all to just be destroyed ! I live near a small market town here in Yorkshire that has 3 working Breweries . One of them still delivers beer by horse a drawn drey ;D I will try to capture them at somepoint and share it the horses are so lovely :D Thank you for sharing I enjoyrd it very much my friend :D Teddy
