i bought one last month and has been a boon for me for driving to manila and back to pampanga. traffic barely affects battery life given my trip usually consists of a 3 hour drive one way. 1.2 hours expressway and the rest in manila traffic. another plus is ev exemption from number coding. so i can go to manila any weekday at any time without worry.
Visited Philippines in 2019/2020 right before the spicy coughs for a friend's wedding. We were down south in Cebu during Sinulog. Beautiful place, and the traffic is just out of this world. around 15km from hotel to the airport took us almost 2 hours. Would love to go again.
Hey David! I cant to get my hands on my unit this November. Looking to document the usage of the seagull in Manila and perhaps a few long drives. I’m taking on this challenge as far not having chargers in our apartment, so mall chargers will hopefully be our way of juicing up our vehicle.
Liked your episode, but please consider to skip disco background music (gives a cheap feeling), and add a bit more direct lightning at the studio:) Cheers!
Recently in the Philippines BYD just introduced the Seal 5 DM-i and its has made the splash upon its introduction especially for its price that starts around ₱948,000 (U$16,154.32) for the base variant.
don't forget to insert the word "po" as a sign of respect when talking to people you're not familiar with, especially elders Inyo "pong" tahanan para sa lahat BYD. Taglish is also acceptable , like at end, "makikita ko kayo" doesn't sound right, though I know you were saying "I'll see you" - instead say " Sa susunod po!" ( see you next time, abbreviated ). BYD Lodi is a nice touch! Awesome videos as always! I've been watching your vids for a while now and am pleasantly surprised to find out your half pinoy! Anyway, as for the Seagull, I really want to get one but it's missing one feature I've been spoiled with all my cars - a 360 camera. I know it's easy to park for a compact, but my OCD kicks in especially when parallel parking.
@@arnoldvales784 thanks mate! I know like 1% Tagalog so I actually got my mum to help me write those bits 🤣...Then I got my older sister to double check it and she said it would work. Maybe I didn't take it down right? Or she left out po because she was speaking to me? 🤔
Hi, thanks for your video. I'm disappointed the Seagull only comes with the small battery option. The charging infrastructure here in the Philippines is limited and confined to a few of the larger cities. If a person wants to do any sort of road trip in a Seagull the larger battery option would be much more suited. I actually went to buy one but when I discovered I couldn't get the larger battery option, I decided not to.
In the Philippines even WLTP is too optimistic! It annoys me that it is at around 16k USD making it overpriced and Upunderspecc’ed. I wish they at least imported the top range instead of the base model for that price.
i own one and it’s absolutely a blast! running 2000 kms odo at zero ev miles since most major malls here offer FREE CHARGING!
Got mine yesterday. I'm excited to test it out

Just ordered mine 2 weeks ago and it’s expected to arrive next week. Can’t wait to drive this and it’s my first ever car.
@@NicoNicomedes great choice for a first car!

Appreciate the feedback mate! I must admit, I got lazy in the post processing on this one and didn't brighten up the subject enough!

For Context, at that price bracket that gets you a sub-compact like a Toyota Vios.
Also, the BYD Seal 5 DM-i is also known as the Destroyer 5 back in its homeland, BYD Chazor in Central Asia, and the BYD King in Latin America.
@@Claro1993 yes I watched the launch for it! I'm actually working on a video for it as we speak!
I have a Dolphin Premium (in Melbourne) and would love to have the Seagull as a second car.
Waiting this to come to Japan but I don't know when. I want a cute but aggressive kei-EV car to drive in Hokkaido! Seagull looks awesome!

Very informative. At a BeyondEV meetup will there be achara, ube halaya, manong fishballs, lumpia, beef morcon, fluffy siopao, pancit vermicelli? 😎
Lechon, Crispy Pata, Tocino and Longanisa as far as the eye can see!
No Ube though...I can't stand it 😂
In Mexico it's called dolphin MINI
Good video thanks but get rid of that music! 😱
🇵🇭 ❤

David do you own any Digital Coins (crypt0)? If yes, which ones?
No I don't, never really got into it.
Home charger is free but installation is not, cost 35k pesos.
WLTP range is more believable iso NEDC. it is more of an honest test n comparison.
