Earth Crisis helped push me to get sober. Love these guys
Earth Crisis are legends! First hardcore band who got me into Hardcore.
12:25 I love this part where he chooses some phenomenal HC records : Blood, Sweat, and No Tears by Sick of it All, The Age of Quarrel by Cro-Mags, Bringin' it Down by Judge, Brightside by Killing Time, One Voice (unusual choice) by Agnostic Front, Set it Off by Madball, Master Killer by Merauder. And I also love the next part where he is mentioning Conviction, All Out War, and Zero Tolerance as some of the most influential 90s HC bands.
Going to their 30 year Firestorm anniversary in April in Syracuse NY. Karl’s son is my barber hahaha.
This was a very pleasant surprise to see, legendary guest
Also still please get any of the guys from vein on
I love you
Amazing interview. 1st saw EC at Milwaukee Metal Fest along side, Merauder and Warzone. Karl passed me the mic while crowd surfing where I sang "I am STRAIGHTEDGE, ..." to end thier set. Life changing
Yooo.... Colin was in Fight Everyone?! 😯That's just blown my mind, I had no idea! I've still got the Fight Everyone t-shirt from back in the day!
I have no idea how I missed this all these years
So stoked! Glad they’re still flying the XXX flag! Karl is 51? I’m 57 and STILL SXE! Since the late 80s! Seen EC so many times! First time in Sacramento on the Destroy The Machines tour! Incredible show!!🔥🔥🔥👍🏽😁
This rules, I love being straight edge
FWIW, I'm an edgeman in my 40s, and I know lots of old straightedge peoples. We out here
"thats a great plain" KILLED ME. joke of the week man.
Boys, i'm so hyped at this one! Keep the good work coming!
Collin in 3 different types of camo lol
Thought it was just his floating head and arms…
Filmmakers in Chicago, Illinois. Summer 1995. It's a show I'll never forget. Thank you for the memories. XVX.
Fuck yes, I've been wanting to interview Karl forever
Give Bo his own episode to talk about YOT the man needs it
I love these guys just wanted to talk about edge breaks lol
Nothing but love for EC! I went vegan listenin to them in 97 n have been ever since ❤️❤️❤️
One voice is one of if not my favorite AF records.
I HOLD THE CREEEEYOWWWN!!!!
VEGAN EDGE SISTER OVER HERE✊
Fireside bowl is a legendary place here in Chicago. My brother used to have to lie to my parents about where he was going cause the neighborhood used to be bad
Saw them in the nineteens in Holland, cool band 👌
Together with Snapcase, ignite, agnostic front and strife
Fight Everyone was my jam!! absolute fucking favorite straight edge band! Aside from Casey jones lol
Karl is a sweetheart bro
I'm in that Path cover photo. Still edge.
Love this podcast mannnnnn
Gonna need that full ep
Earth crisis my favorite
Mike Hartsfield is ALWAYS on the list! SXE forever!!
COLD WORLD next please 🙏
Wait did Colin say he’s 31? I always thought him and Bo were the same age. (From past episodes his age being said)
3 times a week sounded like a diss to me 🤣
This is great
Get the guys from foundation on the show!
I treat Straight Edge like it’s Highlander .
Is 33 too old to claim edge? I want in on this bunker situation
you're never too old to claim edge
Nice Underdog shirt!!
Yo! Sick.
Watched a video I thought was an interview with Karl, and got mostly a video of two people I've never heard of.
metalcore
Syracuse Forever.
i 🖤 ExC
trve
luckily the straight edge ppl who stay tr00 are always the damn coolest. Once pot is cool for straight edge i'm back in.
Never has been. never will be my dude
@@solacexserenity we got a wise guy
same they just gotta say the word and im edge for life 🫡
Def LOLd!
short: dudes loves supermarkets
Are you one of those edge dudes who says "I'm straightedge"..... but takes Adderall? if so, you're not edge bud.
He’s not really into it
XVX
I also went to Japan n struggled to eat vegan there. That was in 2008, hope it’s better now 👍👊✊
Maybe a thing isn't so great when you have to brag about that you haven't droped it yet like most others who where into it.
Karl is a nice guy but he seems really out of shape for being 51. I know people who are not vegan or sxe in the same age who are really fit. Don't want to judge a book from its cover but if I had to tell a kid to embrace Straight Edge and veganage to become like this....🤔
Just some constuctive criticism, no offense: Get your shoulders inked or wear regular t-shirts!
Earth Crisis to Alaska!
Really sucks that all these guys can do is make everything about themselves. You can tell in this interview Karl is just so above their level. This is what fast food, slipknot sponsored “pro” hardcore gives us. Great.
Karl and EC have been one of their biggest influences, at least for Colin. Don't you think they'd get excited when interviewing the frontman of one of the most influential hardcore bands, maybe ever? I think they just wanted to convey how important EC was important to them and how they could relate.
No offense intended, I just think there was misinterpretation.
@@notchrisblock this is a general comment from watching multiple of these. It really shows in this one. It’s an interview they can be excited, but they arent focused on Karl or Earth crisis, but their own “personalities” it’s sad. But hey! How else could you sell out the scene, gotta get those slipknot bucks some how
@@carniekeela4421 you always have the option to not watch them if you don't like it!
@@notchrisblock wow, thanks genius, I had no idea.
@@carniekeela4421 Or you could look at it from a positive point of view and these guys are showcasing countless underground hardcore bands. Calling them sellouts is really an injustice. Kudos to the Knotfest crew letting them give these bands some more exposure. You can be jaded and bitch all you want, but I'm sure plenty of kids are getting into hardcore because of this channel.
Respect to EC but if you're 51 and still drawing X'es on your hand... just sayin'
They had just finished playing and I'm sure you'd be hard pressed to find a live photo of them from any year without X's on their hands.
@@Defleshuary that doesn't really change the point
@@KMKimo Doesn’t really matter. It’s part of his culture and he’s proud to outwardly show it.
Totally agree, it is quite ridicolous to be really honest. Karl did not evolve at all, he speaks, acts and dresses as 35 years ago...
At this stage it is just cosplay. Everyone knows EC is SE. he is over 50. He doesn’t need to break out a pen and write Xs on his hands…
Whats up boys, no silly vegan jokes to Karl? cowards...
I love Karl but the "vegan" food of today is SOYLENT GREEN. Soy is 100% not vegan in that in farming it kills everything
Lol
There are a ton of options without soy. There are also a lot of vegans who don't eat soy. As someone who's allergic and vegan I should know.
Processed food in general is bad for you, vegan or otherwise.
yeah, and the majority of soy on this earth is grown for what purpose if you could help me remember? i'll give you a hint, it's not for vegan people.
soylent green is people!
such a good interview
love this band and have respect for them but if he is straight edge why does he look out of shape
I didn't know you could be obese while eating grass?
😂😂😂
have you ever seen a fucking cow in a field?
