I love your videos! They are easy to understand and entertaining. I've never dry-canned, but, if I ever do, these videos will be my instruction manual.
Hello. Very good video, but I've rarely seen these type machines used to say for instance. On peaches or cherries or macaroni and cheese or apples put indicators can you use this type machine to seal up. Something like wet foods or fruits or vegetables?
Thank you for your video. Can you please tell us where to buy the same equipment to set up just like your setup. And where to buy different size cans that will workyour setup. setup. Thank you much.
You demonstrate dry packing very well. It's easy! Don't forget to store water for cooking and drinking. Another good thing to have is a solar oven for cooking.
Did you custom make the motor attachment with belt? Are you using a pedal for the power switch.? Do you have Info on the motor build. I have the same flywheel sealer.
hi.....I think I still have one pulley left...they are custom made...you might be able to find one...the foot petal is from harbor freight...the belt is from a belt place...the motor is a low speed motor...about 1200 rpm....hope this helps...you might need a pulley ratio calculator depending on what speed motor you can get...ty!
Hi, did this info help???? if not, we can revisit this......the problem is going to be the pulley, i found out they do not make this one anymore. The motor i used was from a friend and it was a two speed motor, if you can find a variable speed motor, that will work better, if you can't, a 1200 rpm motor is about the fastest you can use with a very small pulley. The factory makes a motorized unit, very expensive though. I think i still have 1 pulley left. The guys in the machine shop made me a couple. i would have to get you the pulley size. again, if you still need help, we can make something work......Steve
Love the video. I am looking at an All American can sealer. Either the 1502 or the 7502. Are they the same machine except that the 7502 adds an extra size can mandrel?
Thank you for responding. If you watch the following video, they cook the meat in the can. I wish it showed more of a step by step explanation. It says "error" when I try to post the video link so do a you tube search. The name of the video is, "Mennonite Central Committee - Meat Canning 2010"

Good Golly those are expensive!!!! I just looked on Amazon and the electric ones go for about $1500! I guess it would be a good idea if a group went in together and purchased one. Finding cans is the hard part.
hi...the new can sealers do both small and large. Look up all American can sealer....they are made by Wisconsin aluminium foundary....good luck!..sorry..I do not remember the model number...ty for watching!
I think I'd prefer the motor method but if we were in a down grind situation then the hand crank would have to do I suppose. :) Thanks for sharing; I was curious to see how one of these operated.
Hey thanks alot for The info so where would you think I would be able to find the machine I located a site for the LDS cannery but haven't found something on the sealer
if you have a visy recycling over in the uk visy has a can dept called visypak thats what it is called over here in Aust but i think you have to go by the inside diameter hope this can help just see if you can get some like from an over run
Houseofcans.com has the best price. $210 for I think it was 45 or 50 cans. That includes shipping. Other componys that I have seen charge like $ 180 for shipping.
Hi, you can do a google search for "All American Senior Can Sealer" they will have several places pop up to purchase. The cans can be purchased at "Berlin Packaging" and "House of Cans". The sealer is about $1200.00 or so and the #10 cans are about $5.00 each, not cheap by any means. I do suggest buying the food already packed and ready to go. Honeyville Grains is one place, Rainy day Foods is another. Both top notch business. They have others, but these two I remember. As of today, I use a #2 (1.50 each) and a #2 1/2 ($2.00 each) can with an All American Master can sealer, bought used from eBay. I do suggest before you buy you have at least a decent mechanical skill to be able to clean, understand and adjust the machine. Also Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry still makes the machines and has spare parts, I suggest a can seal "Gauge" from them. It will check the seams on the cans. If a good seal is not obtained, your food will spoil. The cans can be bought from the same can suppliers and a used machine on eBay usually goes for about $100.00 or so. I have bought several completely disassembled, inspected and reassembled in perfectly good machines. Hope this helps and feel free to reach out if you have further questions, Steve
Thank you Steve. So frustrating that the LDS cannery no longer sells these supplies. We used to be able to borrow their sealer and do our bulk dry canning at home.
@@tracietackett5104 Hi Tracie, you are welcome, yea, thanks to the GOVERNMENT back in 2012 or so, they put a stop to local people canning with LDS help. The government is scared of us being INDEPENDENT, just my 2 cents for what it is worth. I can get spooled up pretty quick LOL !!! I would suggest mason jars, inexpensive, great for storing food, very reliable (wipe the jar edge and the lid rubber seal with a very lightly moist towel or other sanitizing wipe) put in an oxygen absorber and you are good to go. I would check the lids in a day or two just to ensure the lid is down and not making the popping noise. Good luck, if i can be or more assistance, please feel free to ask., VR, Steve
@@technician775 Thanks for the videos ! Another thing about the mason jars, is they're reusable and you can use a vacuum sealer attachment to pull out the air. With a oxygen absorber should last 20 or more years.

Hey 775. Just to let you know, almost all LDS canneries will no longer offer canning or their canning supplies. There are sum left, but the majority will no longer be doing that, and I suspect, they will stop as well in the not to distant future. Don't know why.

Hello.
Very good video, but I've rarely seen these type machines used to say for instance. On peaches or cherries or macaroni and cheese or apples put indicators can you use this type machine to seal up. Something like wet foods or fruits or vegetables?
Do you only can seal dry? What about can sealing things like cooked beans, tomatoes or spaghetti sauce, etc.? Thank-you.
To can items that you are talking about you would need a water bath canner or a pressure canner
You'd need to make a positive pressure oxygen purge tank. Any oxygen would allow bacteria to grow. If there is vacuum, botulism is a thing.
