- For the launch of Lightning Returns FFXIII in Europe I am making a Best of the songs of each game in the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy. Here are the winners of all three games together with a little bonus track (which makes it a TOP 10). More than 40 minutes of pure pleasure.
I chose three themes for three different categories.

I just now stumbled upon this
I finished the trilogy in 2021, and with the final scene of Lightning finally walking towards a peaceful and mundane future, with everyone we know living happy lives too after all we went through. Something changes in me that evening 😢❤
Thèse games have such bad reputation that i always avoid them, but I'm extremely grateful for the effor lots of youtubers are doing to bring these games back to the community to be judge without the outrage and nostalgia. Thanks to FFXIII-2 i picked up videogames after almost eight years of not touching a controller. Such great games!!
FFXIII had the best soundtrack of any game i've ever player by a long shot. simply amazing. I still listen to it regularly... brings back so many emotions from the game. Love it. Loved the game too! trilogy was awesome

I really love the Trilogy of Final Fantasy 13!! Gamers really missed a gem for not trying 13. A underrated game at most, a epic journey at best.
XIII-2 especially is awesome!
I just have to say.. I'm a bit sad Dust to Dust isn't on here... It was actually the song that compelled me to play the entire trilogy. But the entirety of this trilogies music is beautiful, grand and epic.

The most overlooked thing in final fantasy is the ost, the trilogy all together hands down has the best ost ever composed in gaming history ever
This trilogy was just so good the soundtrack was great and I feel like you feel their emotions during the game, I just love it! :)

Awesome game with such a good story. And the soundtracks... Oh man, this game will forever live inside my heart, as well as its soundtracks!! Thank you for uploading this, it is perfect for working/studying...
Maybe we can have some different tastes about the selection of the songs, or you like one and me not or something like that. Anyway, even with all that things, I'm just so glad with one thing here... There are people who, like me, love this soundtrack (and the games), no matter the critics, and I'm so happy for that ^^
XIII-2 is my 4th favorite FF.

FF13 , FF13-2, And Lightnings return are so badass! The music in all three games are spectacular! Lightning went so hard and Noel went even harder!
For some reason i kinda enjoyed these quite a bit so i have no regret in buying all 3 (plus x/x2 remaster) for steam for 35 euros.

There is one song that is definitely underrated because it kind appears in an annoying moment. It's Followers Of Chaos in FFXIII-2. I was almost shocked by the epicness when I first heard it as it was really unexpected. And I can't help but to like Starting Over definitely more on the J-POP side.
I also recommend many songs from the first CD of Lightning Returns, they were less "classic" but also really good, like The Evil Savior or Sunset Prism. Maybe you should listen to this 1st CD entirely.(not everything is good to keep, but you'll hear a bunch of interesting stuff). And don't miss Lightning's Theme ~ Radience which brings tears to my eyes almost evertime I hear it. (seriously!)
In FFXIII, the choice is slightly more classic and obvious. You have The Warpath Home, A Brief Respite, Desperate Struggle and maybe will you give an ear to this interesting Chocobo theme : Chocobos Of Cocoon ~ Chasing.
If you want advice for the FF games in general it's gonna take a while. ^^ So I'd advise to listen to the Distant World concerts selection in their original version (The Man with a Machine Gun from FFVIII is too different on stage to understand the original feel of the song). And there is one which is always forgotten which is Yuna's Ballad From FFX-2. Not the best maybe but worth a try.
That's about it. Of course there is much more to say about it but that would gather all that I recommend. Hope you have a nice discovering all that! Cheers!

+Tariq Abdullah Not quite, but it took me quite some time to make this selection, there are so many (amazing) tracks in this trilogy. Can't wait to play LRFFXIII on my PC later today.

Please check the description for the names of the songs. The last is Fabula Nova Crytallis as mentioned. Which is indeed a more orchestral version of The Promise, the music from the main menu in FFXIII (and other moments in the game).

For a moment I thought you were meaning to add annotations. I have noticed that time indications in the description only work on desktops so it might be something I will add.

Did you know you can use a PS4 pad to play on PC?
Anyway, I really believe there will be a a port of the FFXIII trilogy for PS4 in the coming months as well. Just intuition though ;)

The Final Fantasy XIII series is so underrated. XIII is more enjoyable than XII. XII is boring, and the world is dull. I started with XIII as my first Final Fantasy game.
