When LSU marched 99 yards, I was losing my mind. The Noles have had too many games in years past where they ended up on the wrong end of the score board. It was a great game to watch. Can't wait to see your Tigers down in Orlando next year.

As a FSU fan, I’m so relieved they held on the W after almost blowing the game from thsr botched pitch and giving up the TD at the end. What a clutch play though by FSU! And the crowd reaction? As a Noles fan here’s how I have this up in my head cannon: FSU plays one of its finest games-scratch that-THE finest game in at least 5 years up to that point. We didn’t actually think we stood a chance. The ball’s on the one, no way we mess it up, just score and seal the game. But of course, this is Florida State. It’s 99 yards of pure dread, the dream of us being back is dead, back to the pits of the ACC we return. But Shyheim Brown dreads that more than the fans and saves the season. This hasn’t been our best season but it has been my favorite. I love watching this team and I love watching Coach.
This hurts as an LSU fan, so many emotions I felt between the touchdown to the blocked kick. Props to Florida State, they definitely wanted this win. So many things my team needs to fix before the next week and the start of the Sec showdowns.

On the extra point that was blocked, the left wing for LSU could not have been any more useless. He just stood still at the snap and let both the inside and outside rusher by him. Obviously he should have blocked the inside rusher (who blocked the kick), but he actually managed to block neither. Great job.
That's exactly what I told my friends, I was like, the wing did absolutely nothing on that side, his job is to block down and not let anyone shoot inside gap.

We literally have to thank our special teams for saving this game for us. Calling an inside pitch inside the 2 yard line while up by 7 with that little time left is absolutely stupid.
True, but it's college though and a vast majority of these are coach's calls. He could have checked out and either tried to push it up the middle himself, hand it off up the middle, or if gutsy enough, sweep option outside. That d-line's (and watching the ends) push was to smother the middle. I still think it was a boneheaded call but we still pulled off the W. Whew.

That game right there is why college football is the greatest game in our country. The electricity in the stadiums at the end of games like this is unbelievable. I went to the Orange Bowl the 2 years Colorado played Notre Dame in the early 90's and still have yet to experience any thing like it since.

College football is so much more than just a handful of teams and tonight proved its magic. A kicker has to be one of the most simultaneously chill and pivotal jobs of all time. As a fan and teammate, a missed FG is incredibly frustrating. Just know this; you're not as mad or disappointed as he his.

Was the fumbled fair catch @ 2:17 (game clock) not returnable by the kicking team (Florida State)? I noticed they ran it in but had to take their first down at the spot of the fumble without a score change. No idea how I wasn't ware of this rule unless it's a relatively new one.

I had a sinking feeling after LSU scored the touchdown that they were going to miss the extra point. Sadly, that happened and it was a heartbreaking loss for them. At the end of the day however, FSU played like the better team all game long until the final four minutes. LSU shot themselves in the foot multiple times. An injury on a celebration, a blocked field goal, a targeting penalty leading to an ejection, and a muffed punt. But they had a chance to tie the game and unfortunately, extra points aren't automatic.

"What a game" the drama, ending and excitement, I'm neutral for this game but man what a ending, College Football is back!!!
I swear I was DYING when when it was blocked. I was thinkong to myself, it would be crazy if that happened, but no it would never. I couldnt stop laughing for a solid 5 minutez
My boss and I were in tears (I do late IT work) and we were both watching it during our webex meeting and just laughed at the muff, fumble, and block ha ha ha!

FSU was definitely the better team all game, but hope to see both these programs back to their glory days
Props to both teams for a great game. But I give extra credit to LSU for that outstanding two minute offense. No finessing. No extra crap trying to extra yardage. Just catch and get out of bounds or run and get the first down. That was an outstanding two minute offense. Congrats to FSU on the win. ROLL TIDE!!!

As a LSU fan I had to come back here an relive this moment in 2024,, this was the game that turned me from the NFL to college football...
Even as it was being blocked, it still managed to hit the lower crossbar (not too uncommonon on such short kicks), and the goalpost said, nope, not today.
ND fans didn't give a "F" about Brian Kelly rn, they choked themselves at the end of this game for LSU side.

@@RenegadeSith mark my words when i say brian kelly will do things at lsu that will outclass alabamas dynasty and weve ever actually been one of the only teams to rival them over the past 20 years. it makes me so fucking proud to see that. especially with all the poverty and everything we went through in louisiana and to see these young men get to have such a special time and it's just amazing. we're about to win a bunncchh of championships with this dude man. he was a great coach already and notre dame and lets be real notre dame doesnt have the potential for recruiting or anything else that LSU does and i feel great for coach kelly man. i cant wait to see him do it after all the times he had good kids and good coaching and just couldnt push through because of the diffeerence between these southern schools and aside from like ohio state and clemson and florida state its just not the same level of athletes.

We literally have to thank our special teams for saving this game for us. Calling an inside pitch inside the 2 yard line while up by 7 with that little time left is absolutely stupid.

True, but it's college though and a vast majority of these are coach's calls. He could have checked out and either tried to push it up the middle himself, hand it off up the middle, or if gutsy enough, sweep option outside. That d-line's (and watching the ends) push was to smother the middle.
I still think it was a boneheaded call but we still pulled off the W. Whew.

That game right there is why college football is the greatest game in our country. The electricity in the stadiums at the end of games like this is unbelievable. I went to the Orange Bowl the 2 years Colorado played Notre Dame in the early 90's and still have yet to experience any thing like it since.
I’m probably saying this because I’m an FSU fan, but this has been the greatest week 1 I’ve ever seen in my life and it’s all because of the teams that don’t get the love and attention that Alabama or OSU get. College football is so much more than just a handful of teams and tonight proved its magic. This was going to be a devastating loss for either team, and sincerely I hope any LSU fans watching this know I deeply appreciated the three hours watching this shootout and I was deeply impressed (and shaken) by your guys’ performance. You guys got my best wishes going forward

We could have played that so much better at the end but I’m glad we won like that nonetheless. How many other people will be able to say they witnessed a walk-off blocked PAT?
I remember Michigan/Alabama 2000 Orange bowl. Tom Brady last game at michigan. Missed PAT in overtime by bama. 35-34 I think.

That hurt me, and I hate LSU. I've seen my team lose a National Championship on the last play and on a kick six. Losing by an extra point is awful. Elation, then devastation.
Must be great for Seminoles fans though.

A kicker has to be one of the most simultaneously chill and pivotal jobs of all time. As a fan and teammate, a missed FG is incredibly frustrating. Just know this; you're not as mad or disappointed as he his.
Monumental credit to LSU, they didn't give up to the final play. Special teams doomed them, though.

Was the fumbled fair catch @ 2:17 (game clock) not returnable by the kicking team (Florida State)? I noticed they ran it in but had to take their first down at the spot of the fumble without a score change. No idea how I wasn't ware of this rule unless it's a relatively new one.

This was hardly a big game....it was just his first that really means nothing in the grand scheme of things....SEC games-especially Bama will be his big games

This LSU team was absolutely terrible last year. It will take time but he will have them right.
@@yellowledbetter3 no he won't. Kelly is a decent regular season coach but as for post season, they are abysmal. He is never ready for the big games and now that he is in the SEC, he won't even come close.
I had a sinking feeling after LSU scored the touchdown that they were going to miss the extra point. Sadly, that happened and it was a heartbreaking loss for them. At the end of the day however, FSU played like the better team all game long until the final four minutes. LSU shot themselves in the foot multiple times. An injury on a celebration, a blocked field goal, a targeting penalty leading to an ejection, and a muffed punt. But they had a chance to tie the game and unfortunately, extra points aren't automatic.
