Episode Notes:
1. Most of this is captured on real hardware. I did use Kega Fusion for a few of the games like NFL QB Club and Pifall.
2. This video was meant to replace a set of videos I did 6 years ago where I reviewed all the 32X games. I was unhappy with that set so I wanted a new version of it.
3. I used a few choice musical selections for a handful of the games. They came from other similar games.
4. I still own a Japanese Super 32X and a US 32X. Both complete in box.
5. The Surgical Strike footage is from the Sega CD version. I have never been able to get the Brazillian 32X version to run on real hardware(region error) or an emulator(black screen).
6. I may use the star system again in the future. I thought it was easy to follow and most games fit in well with each rating.
"I wish I could give it 0 stars"
My brother you made the rules for the video
No sixth option in the beginning. Had to stick to it.
Lol
Eric Cartman: I don't make the rules, ma'am. I just think them up and write them down.
That's what I thought too 😂
@@SegaLordXYou're a man of word, gotta respect that hahah
At 40yrs old, this is what’s important in my life…
LOL.
haha Its the best!
It's like therapy for us. We didn't have anybody to talk to about it back then.
@@azureblue29 I had, but my friends didn't care unfortunately. It was a depressing time for 32x fans and its still is. Man Sega let us down hard on this one.
Haha, I’ll take this over the news!
Not getting Outrunners was a crime on the part of Sega.
I never knew anyone to have the 32x back in the day
I always wanted to play WWF RAW and Star Wars Arcade
I didn’t do so until a couple years ago due to emulation and yeah it’s def a product of the time and not playable today if you never played it at launch
Wish someone would made the canceled 32x castlevania game, bloodling
@@jm2621They did make the Castlevania game… Symphony of the Night is the game that was originally intended for the 32X.
At this point Sega were just making bad decisions after bad decisions so you shouldn’t be surprised.
@@happyspaceinvader508I never knew that.
Scud Race also...
"Warning : Adult Language" - the funniest possible warning on a video about the 32X
Oh yeah, you knew that there was going to be plenty of f-bombs
Glad he had it in there cause I watch these with my kid sometimes.
I came to the comments to type this. I laughed too.
It's probably responsible for a lot of kid's first F-bomb 🤣
It should say "Warning: this is your reminder to take your Ibuprofen and your fiber" 😂
My favorite current 32x thing is Doom: Resurrection. Those guys went above and beyond with that project
32X can run doom?
@@DaveWasThereMan A calculator can run doom lol
It was released on it. Just resurrection project makes it way better@DaveWasThereMan
Dont forget sega neptune...
The CD32x version especially. We finally have a non FMV game and it’s fucking doom of all things
Been watching your channel since the beginning. I'm born in '78 so grew up at the same time as you. Played most of the same console systems as well. Yours is by far the best Sega channel on TH-cam. I've been watching TH-cam since 2005 and use to contemplate creating a gaming channel. Also your intro the BEST intro I've ever heard. Much love 😎👍
@@presicion25 agree, so little subs back when but deserved. It hurts so much hearing "Genesis" though
@@EmArgh It shouldn't. "Genesis" tells you exactly where and when Sega Lord X was young.
That intro always pumps me up. Makes me wanna play some Sega consoles haha
It's not too late, maybe you would create a really good channel, most of the good TH-cam gaming channels are retro centered.
A lot of us out here appreciate our console journey. And just love honest opinions on it. Do your thing.
I dunno, I received a 32x for Christmas that year and have only good memories. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I was the only one of all my friends who had it so it was my thing. I took pride in it
Same here
Same; loved my 32X and still do.
@@Chrismw81 the new 32x console is coming outz the sega neptune.
There was huge enthusiasm for flat shaded polygons in 1993-94. But by the time the 32X came out in November of 1994, people expected textured, shaded, highlights, etc, like the arcades and even some PC games had. Worse, why she'll put $160 for an addon that couldn't do what the demos showed when SEGA already had a $50 SVP LockOn that could've handled all of these games at 60fps?
I bought a 32X from a guy while I was at college and it was pretty good but there’s a reason why the 32X is hated by most people.
At almost 50 years old, I’m finally ready to share a little secret with all of you gamers tuning in: I didn’t buy the 32X at launch. Instead, I got it second-hand for a good price, bundled with Star Wars and After Burner. Looking back after all these years, I can confidently say the 32X was one of the best upgrades for my beloved and well-maintained Mega Drive. And hey… Virtua Racing at home? Yes …and totally mind blowing.
Happy New Year to you, LordX and thanks for all the great SEGA videos you’re producing. Every time I’m watching your content is like traveling back in time with a SEGA loving 49ers fan. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪❤️🇺🇸
I found Knuckles Chaotix CIB at a yard sale with my dad when I was 10 years old….great memories and I still miss you everyday dad
I left SEGA after having the rug pulled out from my Sega CD and over $1,000 invested. But I picked up the $19.95 32X and several games from the clearance bin. It took all afternoon to get everything working, and a couple of games didn't work at all. What was SoJ thinking?
@@MaxAbramson3Honestly, the 32X felt more like a Sega of America thing. The thing to take note of, is it was only a few years removed from the start of the fourth generation. Generations as a whole were a somewhat new concept. Sega probably still remembered the "why would I buy a Super Nintendo" mantra parents would say when the SNES came out, and figured it was a way to keep the Genesis going.
@@nicksrandomreviewsIt was a Sega America idea. Sega America wanted an affordable, backwards-compatible next-gen system so people could move forward without leaving their existing Genesis library behind.
Sega Japan basically let their arcade team develop a console with little regard for cost because japanese bubble economy mindset.
I'm told they approved the 32x and assured Sega America it was going to be the company's next-generation system, then kept the Saturn secret so they could embarrass Sega America by announcing it immediately after the 32x. The stupid Sega Japan war on Sega America was so mind-bogglingly stupid that I have to say stupid twi- three times.
@nicksrandomreviews Generations didn't even exist (or weren't formalized) until after the PS1 launch. IIRC, it was the N64, Saturn, PS1, PC competition that made it a thing. I've seen the limit pushers on the Sega CD, and it could've held its own as the budget console of the mid 90s. Half the price of the competition and going in with a library of over 1200 games.
Proud owner of the 32X here and I thoroughly enjoy playing mine every so often but it is quite a shame we never got to see the full potential of the device but there are still some solid titles I think are pretty underrated like the excellent ports of NBA Jam, Space Harrier, Virtua Racing, After Burner and some good original titles as well.
Thanks for the cool 32X library retrospective!
I wanted to comment on T-Mek. I played this a lot at the local arcade. The draw of the game was a deluxe cabinet that featured a sit down cockpit with dual flight stick controls on each side of the seat and 4.1 surround sound with a subwoofer below the player. Two players could sit side by side in one cabinet and up to three cabinets could be linked together for six player battles. The cabinet itself provided a very cool experience. The controls and sound really helped drive home the immersion as the game was a Virtual Reality take, which was all the rage at the time.
A home port would have been well served with a dual flight stick controller and the ability to link systems. It's similar to how Virtual On is more fun with a proper controller. Without the surround sound the game is also less immersive, as it helped located enemies and the subwoofer below the seat was a literal kick in the pants!
Anyone that happens to come across one in the wild should try it once, especially if the cabinets are linked or you can experience a single cab with another player. At the least search out some pics or videos of this unique cabinet in action!
30 years and we finally have a CD32x game that’s not FMV and it’s fucking Doom of all things
I tried working on the Assembly for DR. Even though ive got a background with MIPS and PowerPC Assembly, SuperH is one of the hardest, most confusing CPUs to code for. And SoJ expected C and 68000 programmers to hand roll code for this? Why didn't MOTOROLA make ColdFire (Reduced 68k) in the 1980s, instead of the 88000?
I was blown away when I got my 32X. Had Doom and VR Deluxe plus I borrowed Star Wars from my friend. It was an awesome little thing that was failed horribly by Sega.
It was doomed from conception. It was a terrible idea considering the timing and so it was inevitable that it would get dropped almost instantly.
Too many low effort ports is what the problem with it was.
I'll say this about Spiderman: Web of Fire: I paid $3 dollars for used copy, and I made many times more than that off of selling it. A real winner in my book!
And that was the mentality of sega of japan at that time!
You really are the SEGA lord. Great quality videos for our beloved SEGA
OutRunners, Alien vs. Predator, Revenge of Death Adder.
All sorely missing from the 32X.
I’ll always love my 32x
Kolibri 32X was an incredible and fabulous game
it honestly looks like it
32X had 4-5 really decent games.
it was solid
32X Virtua Fighter is forever goated. That's all that matters to me.
The general reaction to Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Donkey Kong Country, and Sega Saturn celebrating their 30th Anniversaries. "Yay! We have fond memories of these!"
The general reaction to the 32X turning 30. "This piece of crap is that old?"
I was just about to comment how old this made me feel, ha! I feel it was just yesterday I was browsing an old Game Players magazine with the first reviews of Doom and Stars Wars Arcade.
Metal Head deserves 3 stars just for having texture mapped polygons.
Theoretically 40,000 textured polygons/sec on the 32X, more than most PS1 launch titles.
seconded
That makes it a great tech demo but not a decent game to play which is what 3 stars means on his scale.
Sega ignoring the system 32 board is a travesty and continues to be to this very day.

@@mariorodrigues3276 Some SEGA fans had invested over $700 into the Tower of Power, controllers, power strip, etc. Now the Saturn was out in Japan, but wouldn't play ANY of your old games and wouldn't even accept your 6 button controller and $60 light gun! Had SEGA instead built a $199 uograded 32X CD that played all of our 1200+ library of games, devs would've invested heavily in it. Instead, SoJ killed their 60% market dominance by changing their roadmap AGAIN with their $400 albatross whose games looked worse than their multimedia PC. By 1995, 3D had been in the arcades for three years, and public demand had built up to epic levels.
And SoJ had dumped their $49.95 (March 1994) SVP LockOn into the dumpster and left millions of drooling fams with nothing.
SEGA quickly went from 60% marketshare to 1% by 1998. And the old Genesis was selling more games than some Saturn titles.
I loved the 32x. The first system I bought with my own money at launch
The 32X's best days are ahead.
Awesome review SegaLX! Great insight on the 32x
My three favorite memories of the 32X are
1. Beating Doom on Nightmare! without dying (not knowing there was a third chapter that wasn't there unfortunately)
2. Beating Corpse Killer with the Menacer
3. Getting to play Night Trap for the first time
Later I got to experience Star Wars Arcade, Spider-man and Kolibri. I very much enjoyed the 32X on the whole, and it's still my preferred way to play NBA Jam and MK2.
Ouch, I can't believe you gave Web of Fire 1 star. x.x That game is absolute roller coaster ride. 10 minutes of non stop action, and it came out so late in the 32X's life that I'm not sure I get the commentary either. It's *way* more fun than Knuckles Chaotix, and that's coming from a Sonic gamer. :p
I played Chaotix everyday as a kid, there was something about that game that was oddly nostalgic and charming even back then, I give it 5 stars!
I bought my 32x for $49 and loved it. Mortal Kombat 2 was my favorite game on it. I still have every console still.😊
I hope to see a Sega Retro best of the year moments from you Mr.Sega Lord X!
I wish I had scopped one of these out of the bargain bins and also the for Virtual Boy when they were discounted as $20 and games only a few bucks each back in the mid-90s.
I did get a 32X for $20 at Toys 'R Us, along with Virtua Racing Deluxe for $5. Unfortunately, the 32X unit starting failing after a couple of years. I gave up and sold both of my non-working 32X units to someone in Brazil. Now, I just fire up Kega Fusion for a little 32X nostalgia when the mood strikes.
@@TheRockJ82Yeah, I’ve got a working PAL model and 12 PAL cartridges… but honestly so much easier to play via Picodrive (Retroarch core). The emulation is spot on.
I own a 32x. Because I life in Germany, the PAL territory has the smallest library without games like Blackthorne and Tempo. But now I finally own Knuckles Chaotix in a very great original packaging shape. Similar goes to my Mega-CD Version of Sonic CD. I love both Add-On´s for it sadly, never full used potential. I also looking forward to own Virtua Fighter And Virtua Racing Deluxe in a similar condition one day. But for the moment, I´m more than happy to own the Sonic game, I´ve been looking mostly the last 20 years. It´s worthy for me 4.5 STARS .
Ich habe sogar "Spiderman - Web of fire" als PAL-Version in meiner Sammlung. Das gab es zwar nie, aber jemand eine wunderschöne Repro gebastelt, sieht aus wie Original. Macht sich gut im Regal.

Great video, thanks! I didn’t have the 32X back in the day, even though I had the Mega Drive. For some reason I got into the 32X collecting some years ago, and now I own the complete NTSC Sega 32X collection, all games CiB. It was a fun project, although I admit many games are not very good. Happy to own them, though!
I just cant believe the 32X happened
I remember one Saturday night my older bros friend brought over the 32X with DOOM that shit blew my mind. I had so much fun just watching them play. Good times
The 32 should have been a premium add on that focused on arcade conversations, and you wouldn't need to put a single compilation on Saturn
Why not just sell the already completed $49.95 SVP LockOn? Or even use the SH2 and show off 90,000 flat shaded polygons per second (almost as many as Virtua Racing) or 20,000 poly/s textured, shaded, etc.
WWF Raw 32X has a hidden wrestler. Press Down + A + B at wrestler select screen to play as Kwang, the masked wrestler who was actually Savio Vega under the mask
I didn't know it had 40 games, that's interesting....More games than I would have expected.
This system has really grown on me over the years. I also really like the star trek game. It's a massive and fun rpg imo
What other games do you recommend for it?

Thank you for covering this. Sega for life!
I've watched probably 50 of your videos at this point, and I just want to thank you for being a TH-camr who is very consistent, and very personable and a charming and kind and friendly and informative way. I'm not even a Sega guy. I have about 30 consoles for retro gaming in my house, if you put a gun to my head I guess Sega Saturn is my favorite of the Sega family, but nevertheless, even as a somewhat Outsider to the Sega family, I really enjoy your videos. keep up the great work. just wanted to give you a little shout out of inspiration.
Heard this was the start of the end of Sega
I guess it was a few things around that time such as the 32x in general, poor design decisions on the Saturn, and most importantly poor relations between Sega of Japan and Sega of America. All came to a head at this time.
Sega CD top.
SEGA never ended. They just stopped making consoles.
@@MrZillas Sega, as 90s kids knew them, ended when Sammy bought them out.
Lack if support for the Sega CD's 3D graphics chip was the beginning of the end.
I wanted this console sooooo much (for about 2 weeks). Great video.
Hey SLX, we’re pretty close in age, and I totally get it-I was there too. Speaking for myself and the folks I knew back then, the 32X didn’t really land as a serious contender. It just felt like it wasn’t a true console upgrade, so most of us didn’t give it much attention.
By the way, your video on “saving the 32X” had some awesome insights-definitely ideas that could’ve made a difference back in the day.
Also, the “adult language warning”-that cracked me up!
Just to say the 32X is truly the Rodney Dangerfield of Sega consoles being an add on for the Sega Genesis, the true Rodney Dangerfield of Sega.
It don't get no respect.
More people seem to be interested in the 32X now then at launch. I got one a few months after launch as a kid and used it until the N64. My friends were kinda impressed with the virtua fighter/racing games as well as metal head so it wasn’t a total loss I was always happy with it.
Sega needed sonic. If knuckles chaotix was done in classic sonic style instead of the rubber band, it would of sold the 32x
Love your videos!
Love the absolute honesty with this, especially with Doom. 😂 that is awesome & that honesty is why I watch Sega Lord X vids, excellent stuff! 👍
Great Stuff as always!
If Sega had focused on porting high end arcade and PC games to the 32X instead of porting Genesis games with extra color, I think it would have done slightly better, even if it still failed. It would at least compensated for the people who bought the 32X.
I wish it had done better and then maybe the 64X for the Saturn could have been a reality.
It wasn't designed as a high-end device. It only cost $159 at launch. It was always meant as an upgrade for the Genesis, as opposed to a true next-gen device. The problem is that Sega failed in their messaging. It seems that many people, including retailers, thought that it really was Sega's next-gen console. Retailers ordered 1 million units of the 32X, which Sega weren't even able to deliver. Six months later retailers were confused again, when Sega suddenly launched the Saturn. I think the 32X should've been named the Genesis Pro and preferably released as a standalone console i.e. the Neptune.
I finished Supreme Warrior 32x on Kega, when you couldn't save state. I love that game.
Thanks! I figured I would donate for your sacrifice in playing this crap box!
Sega 32X time 30 years I’ve seen and have all from 1980-Now what a life of gaming
For the most part I enjoyed the 32X. I played a ton of Doom, Star Wars, Virtua Racing, MK2 and NBA JAM and I consider those a solid lineup of titles. Looking back I wish I would have also added After Burner, Space Harrier, Blackthorne and Virtua Fighter to my library but Saturn was in stores months after I got my 32X for Xmas and the rest was history! It would have been cool to get Night Trap at the time too. Played it but never owned it for the SegaCD and an enhanced version would have been a treat back then. Cosmic Carnage and Metal Head were disappointments I regretted buying.
I remember I couldn’t get Chaotix working on my 32X as a kid and it pissed me off to no end.
30 years, countless Mega Drive and Sonic compilations, and we still don't have another way of playing Chaotix!
I didn’t have a PC so 32X Doom was great and I spent a ton of time playing it way more than my Jaguar’s Doom due to its horrible controller and it’s missing music. I’m probably the only one that actually enjoyed Motocross Championship, seriously
"Spider-man Web of S**t" 🤣
I think both the 32X and Sega CD are magical; evolving my favorite console into something new and exciting. I wish that there were more and better games on it, but there's occasional flashes of brilliance with things like Kolibri and Tempo. Sega CD had a much better library (to the point that I'd argue it's highly underrated and overlooked).
The 32X came too late. Still despite its issues I really liked it. Games like Doom, Space Harrier, After Burner, Knuckles Chaotix, and Metal Head made it worth it. Heck, I ever liked Cosmic Carnage. I had a lot of fun on that one against friends.
i have still never seen a 32x in person despite browsing game shops for 15+ years
I’m still surprised there’s no OutRun 2 or After Burner Climax on any current gen machine, not even the Switch! Great Stuff, as always!
[2:45] I wish Blackthorne had more intuitive controls.
32X had the biggest launch of any console up to that point, selling over 500K units in its first month. Previously the biggest launch had been the Super Famicom with 300K units. It would be a mistake to say the 32X didn't have potential. As someone who bought a 32X at launch with Star Wars, Virtua Racing and Doom, I think it gets a bit lost in the retrospectives how exciting and impressive it was in '94. After the launch, by moving up the Saturn's U.S. launch to May '95 Sega basically threw the 32X under the bus. In retrospect, they ended up completely messing up the timing of the 32X vs. the Saturn. The 32X should've been released significantly earlier, because by '94 Sega had problems courting third-party developers, who were by then already favoring the upcoming PS1. As for the ratings, I mostly agree, although I'd upgrade the audiovisually impressive Knuckles Chaotix and Star Wars to 4 stars and downgrade some of the janky sports games like QB Club to 2 stars.
I can definitely see why you would score Doom so high not having played it on a computer. If the 32X had been my only exposure to it no doubt I would have loved it.
man what a great list! I didn't expect chaotix and kalibri to score so low given their price tags.
I was a (pre) teen back then and didn't get to play it ever. But I guess I would have had a blast with it, even with the "bad" games.
What struck me watching this video is how actually charming I think those flat, triangle polygons look.
They are dated, for sure, but I don't find them ugly (with today's eyes, I mean) compared to a lot of PSX, Saturn and N64 games.
Also I've started thinking how well would the 32X do with Neo Geo games.
I deeply hope that someday the retro scene will grow enough to give the 32X the love and time it didn't get back then and give us a sight of its true potential.
I remember the ads on television and magazines. Oh, the 90s.. lol
new sega lord x, love it
Sega Lord 32X!
SEGA's changing, confusing roadmap was what angered and drove off millions of gamers, retailers, and developers.
Kalinske's strategy of using the Sega CD and $49.95 SVP LockOn cart (with 6 hit arcade games like Virtua Fighter & Racing, Star Wars Arcade, and Daytona USA), then going 50/50 with SONY on the PlayStation just made more sense at the time, and definitely makes more sense now!
Love SLX but I had a blast playing "T-Mek" in the arcade. The experience really helps sell the game and make it fun so that is why I am happy it got a conversion.
The arcade version might be faster though.
Seriously, thank you for the adult language warning at the beginning. I wish more channels would do that. I have 2 young sons that love retro gaming and it's hard to find content for them to enjoy. It's extremely aggravating when they are in the middle of a show that seems to be going well and a random f word comes out of nowhere. So, thank you for the warning, it helps the parents that care about that.
TH-cam tried to fix that by demonetizing people who used poopy words, instead of using one of their robot algorithms to come up with ratings or verbal warnings at the beginning of the shows.
YT claimed advertisers didn't want to advertise their scams on "foul" videos, but those videos have the same number of ads.
Unfortunately TH-cam is a platform where the channel owners must regulate and provide warnings and thus we get flashing lights and no epilepsy warning, and random F bombs or people talking about their genitals in the middle of a technology discussion.
Oh man…. 😅
Sega could've combined the CD with the 32x technology when the SEGA CD originally came out! They could've had 1 great system even if it was an ad on to the Genesis!
Dave Meltzer gave all 32X games 5 stars
Would of been 7 stars if the Buckaroos were involved.
@ would’ve been 10 stars if at the Tokyo Dome haha
After Burner, Space Harrier, Virtua Fighter, Knuckles Chaotix, Virtua Racing deluxe, Kolibri, Cosmic Carnage.. I would love having it now with those games.
Another great video.
I still have a soft spot for the 32x Space Harrier and Mortal Kombat still gets a lot of use these days 😊
@SegaLordX One of your best thumbnails of all time 😂
„40 times faster than 16 Bit.“ That’s everything that needs to be said.
Had the 32x came out in late 91/early 92 and the Sega CD never existed, then it would have fared considerably better. By the time games like Donkey Kong Country came out on the SNES. It was clear they had a game that could not be done on Genesis.
Zaxxon's Motherbase 2000 should have at least gotten an extra star for its absolutely crushing title screen music
I was happy with my 32x when I got it when I was a kid, played decent games on it, wouldn't mind owning it again, just my opinion 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Wonderful video, next years I think I will play Virtua Fighter, Virtua Racing, Mortal Kombat 2, Space Harrier, After Burner, not particularly sure about Kolibri
Even as a Genesis kid, I never had any interest in the 32X. The only thing that even remotely interested me in it was Knuckles' Chaotix since I was a huge Sonic fan. Though, I found out that it really wasn't anything to write home about. I still have no real desire to explore the 32X's library as it doesn't have anything you can't find elsewhere (and better). I think it is the only Sega system (besides the Nomad) that I have completely skipped over.
I'm surprised you were so harsh on Metal Head, I feel like it deserved 3 stars. It has full 3D environments, mech customization... but for me, the lack of a save feature kills it. Lots of potential, but half-baked.
I think half baked describes much of the 32X experience.
Side note, have you covered the impending delisting of SEGA games on your channel? December 6, all of the console ports and emulation packages will poof from stores like Steam other than Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. Some will come back as remakes, others will be gone for good.
I'm actually waiting to see what comes of that. I think Sega is working on something big....
I went full FOMO and bought the old games prior to the delisting. I didn't have this many games for my genesis/dreamcast as a kid, so it has been interesting to discover some of this as an adult.
As for big things to come, I expect the remakes to arrive soon, perhaps at least one this december... but SEGA pollutes most modern games with Denuvo, so I will boycott those until it is removed (Sonic Mania...).
Kind of reminds me of Iron Soldier on the Jag
Really enjoyed this one SegalordX, I think the new star rating system is great!
So there was only 40 titles on this thing? And all the ones shown in the video were the NTSC releases and there's always more NTSC releases than PAL releases so it would have been the entire collection shown. Loved the part where you said that Sega were so desperate to publish anything on it just to put them on store shelves but somebody forgot to tell Sega that the games needed to be actually good in order to buy them, loved that part. 🤪
10:14 SLX channeling his inner AVGN.
I own CIB copies of Star Wars Arcade and Virtua Racing Deluxe, and a loose Virtua Fighter cart. Those are among the better games on the 32X. Doesn't make the 32X less shitty of an idea. Like, WHY, SEGA? WHY? Gamers knew it was wiser to wait for the Saturn knowing it was right around the corner! Why didn't Sega cancel the 32X and move all resources to the Saturn instead? Move the 32X games to the Saturn or cancel them altogether. Also, they missed a golden opportunity to make the Saturn backward-compatible with Genesis and Sega CD games!
I've never played knuckles chaotix and only recently found out about it. It looks like fun
The 32X port of Virtua Fighter is impressive, the polygons on the 32X look better than the 64 bit Jaguar
That's cuz the Jaguar wasn't an actual 64-bit console lol.
@@Marc_AraujoThat's highly debatable, in part because "x-bit console" is not a defined technical measure.
But the Jaguar wasn't designed to be a polygon powerhouse, and working around some glitches in Tom and Jerry limited its performance.
@@CptJistuce The N64 was a true 64-bit system. The Jaguar was a piece of hot garbage. I'd take the 3DO over it any day of the week.
@@Marc_Araujo Arguably, the N64 was a 32-bit system pretending to be a 64-bit one. While the CPU does have 64-bit processing capabilities, the system bus is only 32-bits wide which limits performance(to say nothing of having to ask the graphics processor to do RAM accesses for it).
But people like the N64 and hate the Jag, so to hell with reasonable technical arguments.
@@CptJistuce The N64 had the 64-bit NEC VR4300 CPU, an actual 64-bit processor (although it primarily ran in 32-bit mode on the N64)...the Jaguar had two crappy 32-bit processors that Atari couldn't even get to work well together.
I loved mine and me and my friend played Virtua Fighter, Virtua Racing Deluxe and DOOM for hours on end.
I had one of these, actually I still have it, and it was awesome when it worked but I remember it being extremely finicky
I loved my 32x.
Hi, my name is Mirko and I'm writing to you from Italy. First of all, congratulations on your videos, keep it up! Personally, I loved Chaotix, I still play it very willingly, and I even have several songs as ring tones on my phone. I would like to ask your opinion, but why has Sega never included it in any collection? It always puts games from Game Gear or others everywhere and Chaotix nothing.
@@eleonoraferrari4248 because it failed commercially ... It had few publicity ... And the game didnt sell well. Só sega considers it a black sheep.
"Brutal" is a game that I absolutely wanted to love ever since I saw the game released for consoles when I was a kid growing up in 1994, especially due to the game featuring anthropomorphic animal characters depicted in a cartoony style that I find quite appealing, but it's a real shame that the gameplay turned out to be kind of a broken mess, to put it lightly, when trying it out for myself, especially due to the fact that there are no other official fighting games like it with those kind of characters that I love. :(
I enjoyed playing Madden 2004 on GBA before lending it to a friend & never getting it back, NFL Quarterback Club should be an enjoyable 4 out of 5 for me. Just the clip you showed I felt some fun in it.
