Chris while you've got the fence clean, roll on some of that fence stain. It'll keep it looking good for years. Neighbour did their fence same time as ours and their fence looks brand new because they stained it while ours has gone grey like yours.
Chris, I love your attention to detail. In regard to the oil in the boot carpet, if you have large bucket. put in a good measure of whitening agent from the laundry into the bucket add warm water to dissolve the powder/crystals. Add the whole carpet and agitate like a washing machine. The stuff I use is from Aldi but Coles etc. has the same type in the 500g tub. You need the agent in the whitener to break down the grease/oil stain. I hope I didn't over explain that. Cheers
Car looks good but the fence looks mint! Trick I've found to get weathered timber looking new- use Oxalic acid with water (typical rust cleaner in Bunnings) and spray it on. Bleaches the wood back to original colour without the the need for pressure/sanding. It's actually the ingredient in deck clean products
Hi mate. As far as wheels keep them period correct. I am a purist at heart , but have done a set of Gold MY00 wheels as this looks epic on the blue. Obviously if you keep the brembos they won’t fit as you mentioned. If you are 100% going to keep brembos refurbish the wheels you have. Don’t go over 17 inch wheels. I restored my former Version 6 STI removed brembos and put stock wheels back on and absolutely loved the stock iconic look. So many GC8 are molested and stockish ones to me stand out. I would sell the wheels and brembos put original brakes on and upgrade the rear calpiers to the pot brakes. With the money you get buy some original wheels do a set in gold and keep a stock set. That’s what I have done.
I fit 20” 245/30/20 rockstars on mine 5x100 minor scraping on rear lowered I have nolathane camber bolts twisted in a degree I’m now on G3 stock 17”x8 as I now live in the sticks I have the 20s I’m considering selling
Ordinary dishwashing liquid will get the oil out of the boot carpet. Love your work on this car! Much better getting it back to factory and your attention to detail is amazing!
1st Choice: Revolution Millennium 7.5J x 18" ET48 wheels. Similar to the Speedline wheels but looks fresh! 2nd Choice : OZ Racing Supertourismo Both in Gold 👌 MINT!!!!
Thanks@@MindieJ. P.S. I think BBS RG386 that were on the STI Liberty/Legacy would look very cool and OEM+ on your car. I can't say for sure whether they clear big brakes or not.
Love your work Chris. I’m trying to remove water stains from the outside of the windows on my ss. I’ve tried Maguire glass polishing liquid but wasn’t impressed. Have you encountered this?
My wife is upset with you, I saw the Vevor on the original video you linked it to... I bought it. I saw the new Auto Glym all purpose cleaner in your last video... I went and bought it. And now my Bissel Auto Mate (smaller version of your one) is leaking and old so guess what I'm off to go buy now 😂
Haha I get ya with the car and house/ I’m fussy like that I hate something not right I generally have to fix it asap Like my ranger got a dent in door I had to get PDR to remove it / was from a carpark I even found the car that did it and made them pay for the PDR haha
Reco the wheels. I think since the gc8 the shades of gold changed to a bit brighter with more metalic. Check with the paint shop. I put quality coil overs in my gc8 when i was young and every bush and part from the whiteline catalogue, adjustable swaybars. I ruined the car. Rides terribly (i know the springs are heavy) handling improvements are questionable vs a good set of tyres and lowered king springs (mainly for looks). Id kick my younger self before i wasted thousands again
@@MindieJ thought some that has attention to detail or whatever you say you have would have picked the damaged sils out, you’re very salty about it I can see
Burke's Backyard 🤣 There's a flash back, I bet half the viewers don't get that reference

A set of status grinders will suit it perfectly!
The gc8 is turning out mint. I’d love to see some gold rpf1’s
5 x 100 is also the BRZ / 86 stud pattern so there is a few new designs that work well. Just go for the narrow width option.
For a clean look, I would keep and restore the gold gd wheels.
Hard to find wheels that clear brembos in 5x100.
Nothing bigger then 18x9 +38
18s will clear factory brembos no problem as long as they don't have super low offsets
Looking forward to the driveway renovation, strip, grind, fill and re-coat.
That’s a 🍿 event.
YES. I was thinking the same thing. 3 part video.

Car's starting to look mint 👌
Put the boot liner in the washing machine on a warm gentle wash, I think it will help.
Definitely not putting oil soaked carpet through my washing machine

Cant go wrong with oz racing superturismo's they fit perfictly on my gf8

I love the attention to detail bro
Thanks mate 😏
I bought a GC about 6 months ago. Lots you are doing I was the same. And the gear boot part I was laughing at as I went though the same hahaha
Bloody nightmare
I broke all the clips and ended up glueing the new one in 🤣
Ordinary dishwashing liquid will get the oil out of the boot carpet. Love your work on this car! Much better getting it back to factory and your attention to detail is amazing!
yeh and roll up the carpet into a tall bucket and let it soak for a while too..
Where are you sourcing your OEM parts?
My favourite wheel's I've had on my gf8 that clears my brembos are: OG te37's 17x8 or 7.5, Advan RG2 17x7.5, 57c gramlights
Problem is both of those look crap in small widths, no concave
@@MindieJ Don't knock it till you try it. About all you're get underneath without heaps of camber sadly
I reckon a set of turbofans or the OZ racing rally type wheel would look clean
Restore those wheels 👌 done a bunch through No1 Powder Coating opposite All Sparks. Alby does a mad job

Both in Gold 👌 MINT!!!!
Definitely no to 18’s
@MindieJ bruhhhhhhh.....🤣🤣🤣 You went 17s and they look awesome 👌
These look awesome on a GC8, SPEEDLINE TYPE 2110, 17X7, 5X100, ET48 - SUBARU
that speedline is the best looking wheel on these
Speedlines don’t clear Brembo’s
Like your Subaru STI on your TH-cam video @@MindieJ
You'd be silly not fit some gold RG1's with the decal set and some RE71RS tyres.
Great vid. Put the gear boot on a bench next time and use a pick to get those clips off
Thanks for the tip
Gen 4 Subaru Legacy/Liberty tbSTI enkei wheels? They clear the brembos on the legacy/liberty so should clear yours as well. 18X7.5 +50 I believe.
Definitely no 18’s
Machv 17inch black rims .. kinda hard to get a hold of them
Copy of a Gramlite 57C?
GD is all the way up to ‘07 isn’t it? Do the factory 01-05 WRX wheels clear brembos? They look mint on the classics
GDA, not sure if they clear but not a fan of those either
Some gold Advan model 6 or T6 might look okay
Might be on to something, alot more people can relate to house stuff than car stuff
It’s funny but saw one today with gold yea buds looked really good
Prodrive PWRC1 18 X 7.5 +46 in gold
Definitely no 18’s
I want those rear seats, I cannot locate them online in that black and red cloth pattern.
Plenty of GC8’s being parted out on the internet
Get the rare bbs sti wheels 5x100 17x7.5 look amazing on GC8 and will clear the brakes
A mate of mine is selling a set of those in Melb. Gun metal grey though, not gold.
I went out and got a bissell spot cleaner today 😉
Good boy 🫡
Totally the little things! 👍🏻
Te37's in gold or bronze. Timeless classic that looks good on everything.
Unfortunately TE’s look junk in anything skinnier than 9”
@@MindieJ that is true, very flat faced.
Grab some genuine Subaru / Rays RE B51 wheels in gold. They were available in AUS but only in grey on the GD WRP10.
You should take the boot carpet to the local laundry and load it up with detergent.
You'll need to re oil the wooden fence now.
nice RC car mate, when you doing a video on it?
Nothing wrong with having pride in your car as well as your house
Hi @MindieJ - what fluid do you use for your Ultrasonic Cleaner???
Transclean, it’s a powder
