Hey sailing fam! We're still out here loving every nautical minute! Life took a tactical turn: we traded editing for charters in the stunning British Virgin Islands. Your support means the world; we'll catch up soon! Check is out at www.sailingsisu.com
For some odd reason, I was not getting any notice of videos you post?! So I decided to go looking, and here I see that you two crazies are still living an adventure life, and sharing the adventures with us land locked people. Great video. Cheers from Winnipeg.
Interesting! Love is still in the air, and the sea is still in our souls! But, our treasure chest is running low, so we're opening Sisu's sails to the world! Come charter our boat, and help us keep our relationship afloat - and our adventures funded.
Whilhe I should like the sound of the Whisky Festival, given the rubbish being put into bottles of Scotch these days, I think I’d pass tbh.So Bad, I even bought a -legal- copper still from Italy,to distill something fit enough for my late father to drink- usually very nice home made liquers or Calvados/ Apple Brandy from really good Cider.knocking out 100 proof 50% spirit was a doddle for the base for nice drinks tbh. Slow low temperatures fermentation for a clean output was the trick.High temperature high strength fermentation produces large amounts of disgusting esters, which shouldn’t be put in bottles tbh.that’s why honey and other strong flavours are being used to attempt to disguise the crap that’s being bottled and extra premium prices are being charged for the stuff.😡 Bob. 🤔🌟🌟🌟⛵️❤️
PS.The Irish Distillers appear to have stopped putting crap in their bottles. The French are wrecking their spirits markets as well , so no more Courvoisier VSOP EX for me for the foreseeable future. Bob.☹️
It turned out that those boats were welcoming the Yacht Club Commodore 😅 the whiskey festival was on, but we did not see much of whiskeys except for one stall 😂
@@SailingSisu Awesome results with them tbh.Bob. PS. Oooooh.forgot to mention. My best bought a recent ish model refurbished GoPro from a good reputation seller on EBay, for one heck of a saving, and everything with it and for it as well. There could be some other Camera options from the same kind of great reputation refurbishers? I’ve found the same with sellers of refurbished 4G LTE WiFi modems that will work all across the Caribbean - see the review on comms by Michael of the Sailing Gently channel who is the author of some brilliant books on Sailing routes etc. plus the was a Producer or director of the Doctor Who TV series. His sailboat - a Beneteau 323 if I remember correctly. Is presently based in Martinique. Though he may be back in France now during hurricane Season. His Coastal Route to the Mediterranean is so good, and his so enjoyable, I no longer cross the Bay of Biscay to get there lol.Yes it takes much longer, but there’s pretty much a great place to shelter in every night or stay for good weather windows , that I can’t wait to use his route again tbh. I used to staying stuck just offshore on the Continental Shelf until south of the latitude of Le Mans, then get to Northern Spain as fast as possible, but I was missing out on so much tbh.Fresh French Bakery bread and Croissants every morning, just one of the benefits, plus meeting so many nice people (to me, the Real French live outside of Paris, and they are wonderful people) I’ll tell you about the gendarmes in their car parked next to the bench I was sleeping on in the Central Massif Service area in severe freezing conditions just to make sure I was ok when I woke up - I was dressed in layers of thermal gear, and had a motorbike suit and a very warm Crash Helmet on top, so despite being covered in Frost, was actually toastie warm after getting warmed up with lots of hot soup inside the services. 😂 Shows the really great attitude of the French Police though tbh. Best Wishes. Bob.👍🌟🌟🌟❤️⛵️🏴🇬🇧
Excellent vid thanks Frik. Gives a real sense of the voyage. So much different from last trip there…. 😁 Nice setup with the bungee wing on wing. Isn’t it better though to tie to base of stanchions than top so that the sail can’t exert the stanchion length leverage? Does it worry you about working the stanchion caulking and a possible future leak? Did the whale bump hard? Any sign or damage?
Glad you enjoyed it, Tony! I have tried to tie at the base and then the bungees would pull the line down to the base, which is fine, except for when it gets too close to the life lines and chafe the sheet lines...when it is tied to the top it only touches the life lines but not grinding past it on the down pull. We definitely felt the bump, but no damage since we were going more or less in same direction. I think Sisu started to surf and caught the whale by surprise :-D
@@SailingSisu you are very kind to be so helpful in your replies. Thanks for that. I’ve often wondered if it’s a good idea to to have a speaker near the hull playing music to make boats more visible to whales…. there’s gonna be more and more bumps if boats and whale numbers are both growing. Just wanna say I like you guys and your vids a lot and appreciate being virtually along for the ride with you. Fair winds.

I like your bungee rig👏🏻
Thanx! It sure does the trick!
Thanks for great info in this video. Question, did I see some damage on the front of the hull. Did you hit something??
Not yet!
Do you ever bother moving the Sup's onboard/deflate them?
Yes, we do.
Regte Suid Afrikaans’s resep👍🍷
Baie dankie vir die inloer!
Welkom . Julle was maar stil.
Ja, jammer! Ons moet aan ander maniere dink om geld te maak 😅
