Thanks for the nice video. You know that the name of Marmara Sea comes from the name of the island you visited. In old times its name was Marmora which means marble. There are huge marble quarries on the other side of the island, you visited. So, it is Marble Sea of old times.
Yeah, Adrian, I was wondering about that. What is apparent off the shelf in South Africa is not necessarily off the shelf in Barbados. For example, metric vs imperial, 110v vs 220v, and the high pressure pump. Yes, I hear you that we can still go to a hardware store and get a pressure pump. We had to run our Spectra in manual mode from the Black Sea to Canaries and it was doable. So, it is sure a good idea to look into 🤔
Enjoy your videos, also a fellow South African. I'm also interested in doing something similar to you. How do you deal with travelling to these locations and visa's etc on SA passports.
Hey Greg, what do they call our passport, THE GREEN MAMBA! It lives up to it's reputation. It is not always easy for us. Please watch our video number #84, we've explained quite a bit.
Dan, good question! And no straight answer. Up till now we've been matching or go faster than most cats and monohulls in the same length category. However, we started to buddy boat with other circumnavigators of similar sizes and realized that they were faster than us 😅 it sure depends on the skills of the Skipper, the condition of the sails, is the hull clean, and how much water/fuel/food/luxuries are you carrying. But all things equal, the Leopard 45 is a fast cat for a cruising cat and can get loaded without a big impact on the performance.
@@SailingSisu You are so right, it really is up to the sailor as much as the boat. My perception is that the hulls are a bit narrower and it is a few pounds lighter than the Lagoons and FP. I feel like it must be a perfect compromise between performance and comfort. My goal right now is an older (2011 +) Leo 44 in about 4 years. Of course, I have SO much to learn before then.
Very nice uncle Frik, we love your videos.
Thank you Kayla🤗
Mooi julle twee, klink great 😊
Baie dankie Mark!
Another great video. Looked like you were on a Freeway for awhile. A ton of traffic.
Yes it was! Or at least it felt that way :-))))

Thank you for the lovely information, we did notice the quarries on Google Maps, and considered cycling over, but sadly we didn’t have time 😌
You guys have a gorgeous boat. Have you done a tour of your home? If you have, please send me the link. Love your channel
Yes, we did. The episode is called "walk through" ☺️
👍👍thanks guys.
Thank YOU John for popping in🤙
Hey Frik and Petro, you guys are such an awesome couple. Do you ever bump heads? Or are you guys always so patient with each other .
😄😄 it’s a boat and things do get pretty exciting from time to time, but other than that, we are very chilled with each other.
Perhaps a DIY water maker with of the shelves spares ?

Thanks for the fun video! Would you say that the Leopard 45 is a little faster than the similar size Lagoon or FP?
