Since it does seem like the type of thing where the rest of the DLC will become much more useful for anyone starting a new playthrough rather than someone coming back after a couple months

You say in the video that Edelgard (with Dimitri and Claude) comes with an opportunity to instantly increase their bond to 20. How do you do this? I just got them and did not see a way to do this
I phrased that a bit poorly. Here's what I meant: All twelve emblems in the base game are capped at Bond Level 10 until you complete their paralogue, at which point the remaining ten levels (up to 20) are unlocked. Edelgard (with Dimitri and Claude) do not have a paralogue, so they are not capped at Bond Level 10 when you recruit them. The reason I brought it up is because it's evidence that they do not have a paralogue. Incidentally, Tiki also has all 20 levels available from the start, but since she obviously does have a paralogue I didn't think it was worth mentioning. Sorry for the confusion!
Unfortunately it seems for most people, the DLC is unlocking later than it's supposed to. Keep playing the main story; I've heard most people say that they were able to get the cutscene to trigger after chapter 6
Once you get done with chapter 6, go to the outlook at the Somnium and you will get the Three Houses emblems. As for Tiki, you have to play a paralogue map and beat her to get her to join you. It is pretty tough if you do not have a strong team.

I played awakening from the beginning of 2013 until fates came out. I played fates every day until echoes came out and sunk 128 hours in 12 days of birthrights. I have no problem with the wait
The biggest crime is that engaging with Tiki doesn't turn your unit into a flier. It makes sense why but its just... Upsetting. Oh and also that they made her British

I don't know for certain since I finished the game long before the DLC was activated, so I only have my endgame save file to go off of. Official materials say they should be available after chapter 4, but I've seen a lot of people saying that isn't the case. My guess is that they're available after unlocking Paralogue 2 since that's the spot on the map that connects to the DLC maps.
The good: I planned to get engage late due to other responsibilities. So i'll be able to enjoy the DLC fully. The bad: I'm getting it late :< The ugly: I wanna play it.
Yet another reason to not buy season passes until all the crap has been put out and hopefully by then they'll be on a sale...or just don't buy them at all you're getting enough game as it is.
If you order the CE it should come with the expansion pass tbh. Seems kind of dumb to spend $30 more on top of the CE for questionable DLC we don't even know of yet. This should go for any game's CE tbh. Just adding that would probably make more people buy the CE and they end up with more money in the long run.
If they add Shez as an emblem, they would probably call him/her the Emblem of Hope. It would be interesting to see if Shez would have unique dialogue if you have Edelgard's bracelet or Byleth's ring equipped on Alear.

Because those 30 dollars aren't just for a new paralogue and two emblems, it's for everything that's going to come afterward. The value may or may not become more justifiable once they show who the other new emblems are and what the big story DLC will be about.

I rather no DCL at all unless they are good and fulfilling and they add real value to the overall experience: expanding mechanics, the story, the characters and the fun. If with this pass they only add a few emblems, paralogs, cosmetic add-ons, fancy weapons that don’t add much beyond being cool or easing up the game, then I don’t want anything. Best DLC ever for me: TW3: Hearts of Stone, Civ VI: Gathering Storm and Age of Empires II: Conquerors. How much did these cost each? Some less than any Super Smash Ultimate pass or this one (unless I am wrong and to be honest I want to be wrong and buy some great content by autumn)

It's just sad that they put content locked under a price that is basically an extra 50% of a full game price. Recently BMW and I think Mercedes have locked behind an annual subscription model built in features in their cars. The features are already there and the cars still cost the same, but now drivers need to fork 300 hundred or more a year to have heating on seats, for example. This paying extra for content already present just seems like pure greed. My 2 cents.
This dlc breaks the game. There is a major shift in the game at Chapter 10 and 11 where this dlc basically ruins the entire shift and makes that chapter easier. The silver card also breaks the economy as well. Bad dlc.
They really neee to add to the DLC a wave of emblem skins, MCorrin, Fbyleth, timeskip lords, adult tiki, PoR Ike, etc. Most these emblem characters have more then 1 design that would be great to see.

So basically, it’s best to hold off on Engage until the expansion pass is fully out. Otherwise there’s not a ton of use for the pass.
