Very interesting video. I passed through LBL driving cross country. Beautiful but could not shake the creepy feeling enough to camp. Later researched and discovered this is dogman country.
Just found your video - my mamma’s family is from Benton/Murray and I spent summers on the farm in Shiloh. I live in California. My great-great grandparents are buried on an overlook that became a beautiful site for a spec housing development that never saw one house built. The ancient markers are there, as well as black wrought iron corner markers to mark the site. It sits on a house lot in a cul-de-sac overlooking the LBL. I’m now 63 and the entire development has sat untouched for at least 20 years. It’s not a campground but is a very cool place to visit. There’s a. Buffalo ranch out there, too. My mamma lived in the lands beneath the LBL prior to the dam being built.
The fact that there were tracks of something bipedal walking into water area and had a canine look to them is par for the course given the area and stories.

just spent a night there with my buddies at ginger bay, it was really awesome until we were woken up by screaming and sticks clashing at 11pm, I didnt hear the big scream, I was fast asleep having some of admittedly unsettling dream i dont quite remember, but I woke up to my buddies falling out of their hammocks and jumping in the car. We sat on it for a while but the noises went on for a few minutes and we could not identify them, we're well acquainted with the usual coyotes, wolves, owls I kind of thought it was distant coyotes but one noise just got too close, sounded too weird and involved big sticks bashing together and I just got the feeling we shoudnt be there with the little equipment we had. Definitely going back soon, the evening was really amazing but Im not sure when ill be there overnight again.
Sounds like you guys were hearing dogmen...watched this video and the tracks mr fish saw in a line sounded like theirs couldnt really see them on the video...be VERY cautious while camping over night there.plenty of deaths occur there
I wouldn't set foot in the LBL. There have been 16 or so fatalities there over the past 50 years, mostly blamed on bear attacks that don't add up. Martin Groves harrowing account of what he and his friend encountered while camping during a hunt explains this mystery.
It’s not for everyone. It’s a lot of area and wildlife. Not to mention a lot of “undocumented sportsmen” as well. It has the potential to be dangerous even without any unexplained phenomena.
@@dadbudgetadventuresA lot of this depends on how close you are to other campers. It's a lot more unlikely anyone or anything would bother you if you're in an area with several other occupied camp sites very close by. the reason there's high water marks is because LBL raises the level of the lake from May-September by about 8 feet. its raised over the period of about 2-3 weeks in April
This better be good..all joking aside, this is an interesting approach and a clever way to set yourself apart from your garden variety bush crafting/camping video. Great concept, camping at haunted locations with a past.
Thank you. I figured since I'm not pretty, don't have an accent, and don't really have any kind of quirky schtick that I should try to find interesting places at least. I wish I had more time to do more of these but sadly my chances at paid TH-cam stardom are limited :)
@@dadbudgetadventures Still a great idea even if it’s only a special occasion or on a limited schedule/basis too. Doesn’t necessarily have to be a daily or weekly event. Cheers friend.
On some level you are correct, however, a lot of people ditch gear for a number of reasons. Unfortunately keeping the area nice isn’t on everyone’s list of priorities. I’ve found plenty of abandoned sites like this over the years. It’s mostly carelessness and rarely anything sinister. But we can never say absolutely what happened.
Don't you know about the dogman murders that happened there? It is very true. That land is stalked by an upright dogman who roams that land! I wouldn't go there if you paid me!!!
I camped at Shades State park in Indiana and didn't know it was haunted until I was cutting up veggies on the tailgate and a white cloud thing flew past 3 times. Thought it was a possum running by the first time. Then the other 2 times i saw it was just a white thing flying by. I asked my boyfriend if he saw it an he said no. When we got home he said he really did see it. I read up on the park an it's old name was shades of death but they took that part out. Alot of Indians died there. Good video thanks
People do it all the time. It gets messed up or a pole breaks and they leave it for some one else to deal with. Or maybe they were just messing with people knowing the background of the site. Hard to say.
The only reason why these places are found as creepy is cause people hear creepy stories but when someone has never heard of a creepy story they feel nothing. It’s purely psychological. I’ve gone to places that were fine and then I hear a story and the next time I’m on edge. Just the brain trying to keep itself safe.
There’s a lot to be said for the idea of mass hysteria. But some people are going to find something paranormal everywhere they go even if there’s no basis for it.
Wow so nothing about a child's backpack, underwear and what looks like a quickly abandoned camp sight far out in the woods led you two to think maybe report this to the police? Someday if someone you love is taken and years of searching and thousands of dollars are spent to find them, you will for ANY evidence of their fate and that someone might find SOMETHING.
I had no reason to think there was cause to call the police. This is a commonly used camping area so finding camping equipment left behind is not unusual. We weren't just out in a random area where one wouldn't expect to find remnants of such activity. It's creepy looking but we saw nothing sinister. Given that I myself am a police detective, I found no reason to suspect that it had anything to do with any missing person case and if the police had been called they would not have done anything with a bunch of abandoned camping gear. While I appreciate your concern, it wasn't a lack of care that caused us not to act.
I'm only a third of the way through the video so far and I believe the backpack was just found and somebody lost it and somebody hung it up in a tree in case they came back looking for it. As for the feeling of dread and seeing a face in the woods this is commonly known as what happens before people go missing or spot a Sasquatch in the woods and by the way Sasquatch have very human looking faces other than all the hair. 99% of them will not bother you unless you have evil intentions or come within a certain space of them or their children. This is after having researched them for years now. The only logical reason for finding a tent is someone left in a big ass hurry! 🤔🤪😱😲😳
My friend and I plan on hiking/ camping at LBL. It seems like the closer the time comes to go the more I hear of all these encounters, especially dogman encounters. At first I was a bit scared of the crazy ppl we could run into on trail and omg I'm terrified of the wild hogs, I've been chased by one but the more I hear of the freaky encounters the more I'm afraid of the unexplained. I plan on going armed and I'd hate to shoot someone or something but if it comes down to it, I guess I'll have no choice.
Let me reassure you from someone who has spent a lot of time at LBL, the Dogman stories are urban legend. Lots of people will argue that point, but there is zero actual evidence of the existence of such a creature and the supposed story of a family being murdered there is strictly a legend. LBL is beautiful place to explore and while human predators are never out of the equation anywhere you go, I fell like you'll be fine when it comes to the paranormal. I would never tell anyone that something absolutely doesn't exist, but I will say there's nothing out there to convince me of a homicidal half man half dog creature at LBL. That being said, please only go armed if you have trained and prepared properly. People get jumpy when they are out in the wilderness and it would be easy for something to go south, so please be careful.
@@dadbudgetadventures This account seems pretty authentic to me. This guys got more to lose than gain from telling his story! Loved the vid!! 😘 th-cam.com/video/3Jlr_X3cZWU/w-d-xo.html
You are either crazy or have no sense to camp there, dogmen are real, and that poor family got slaughtered there, wish you got good pics of the canine tracks, dogman is probably still living there
Absolutely. Often people don't go beyond hearing strange things or seeing something they can't easily explain before determining it must be paranormal. Sometimes you just have to be willing to accept a mundane explanation.
I watch several camping, off-grid, explore etc chans and am always amazed that no one requests LEO'S to take those items into evidence. Missing Children and hikers are in the thousands. I imagine a parent would be able to identify their missing child's backpack. SMH
That has been brought up before so I’ll tell you why that is. Coming from a LEO and detective with 26 years experience who works child exploitation cases, it takes a lot more than finding an empty backpack and a broken tent at a commonly used campground to determine that this is evidence of any kind of crime. People abandon gear all the time. It’s an indication that people don’t care about the land that has been dedicated to outdoor life, but no police department is going to spend the man hours and resources to assume there is anything more to it than that. If there was blood at the scene or some other indication of foul play, I’d be the first one to call. But this doesn’t rise to that level. So it isn’t that nobody cares, it’s just that this is a far too common find on camping land and it is rarely more sinister than someone just didn’t care enough to carry their stuff away.
That’s a possibility for sure. More likely they aren’t related. The backpacked looked like it had been there a lot longer. As for the tent, someone may have left it because it was damaged or they just got spooked and bailed.
“Haunted” campsite, eh? The guy who has slept alone overnight in Aokigahara AKA Japan’s infamous ’Suicide Forest’👻 has entered the chat... 😊 Found this video from searching for ‘scary hiking stories’ for...reasons. 😜 Just like you gents, nothing bothered or “haunted” me despite all of the ‘eKsPuRtS’, who have never even been to Japan let alone the forest itself, insisting that it’s like..super-duper haunted. However, in my second overnight video, I DID manage to catch on video the moment when a single bird(? Ghost?🤔) called out at around 4AM when I got up to go take a fertilize the plant life. “I already told you guys...we just haven’t showered..!” 🤣🤣🤣 Hilarious!
Glad you found us. Would love to camp at Aokigahara but I don’t see that happening any time soon. Right now I have to settle for less exotic locations. Be sure to check out the new video where we hunt for Spearfinger.

I really hope you guys packed out that backpack, tent, poles, etc. We always try to leave places cleaner than when we arrive when camping & hiking. We've packed out lots of other people's trash. 👍🙂
I don't mind carrying out some of the trash we collect when we are camping but if I don't have proper gear for handling potentially hazardous material it stays where it is. I don't go in to a camping trip expecting to take out someone's soiled clothing or shelter so I don't put myself or anyone else at risk expecting to handle it. If I decide to start taking large trash bags, face coverings, and latex gloves I could see doing that but if I don't have that stuff I'm not going to get that involved.
Do you think that humans are number one and our scale is the standard of the universe? Just stop, and look around. Don't be ignorant. Keep your mind open.
These were, in fact, American White Pelicans. We were there during their fall migration where they do, in fact, come through LBL. Mr. Fish got some great close-up pics of them.
Heres what people never think 🤔 about. If some people are camping in mysterious areas hearing or actually witnessing strange and unexplainable paranormal activity. Then why arent these same people saying the same crazy things wherever they go. Like people kind of ridicule others as if what they saw or hear is made up or apart of their imagination. Maybe even go as far as crazy. Well then why are they not hallucinating at their damn house? Or wherever else these individuals or groups of people even go? Its probably because they very well did experience something paranormal or unexplainable or rather an explainable nature of something unknown. I typed this on my phone. You get the gist use your brain.
That's very true. There's also the distinct possibility though that people experience some of these things because they have talked themselves into it. I have seen people get so worked up believing that something paranormal was going on that they passed out. The fact is that there isn't a way to say for sure what someone is experiencing as each person may experience things that the person next to them does not. We didn't experience anything while we were there. Doesn't mean the last or next person didn't. I can only speak to our experience. That's what makes this kind of thing fun and interesting.

It seems that someboy has to leave in a hurry!! leave their stuff behind, this is not normal!!
Great video brother
Much appreciated. Thanks for the support.
LBL its not Haunted but spooky place get ready for the Wolfman.
There's always something interesting going on, to be sure.
Really cool video. I subscribed 😊👍‼️
Thank you. Glad to have you onboard.
“That’ll do pig, that’ll do.” 😀👍🏼 Thank you!
I say that too, when it’s even the least little bit appropriate. 🍻
Also technically alcohol is not allowed in LBL either, even though people bring it in all the time
Technically, yes. But most campgrounds are ok if you’re in your site and you’re keeping it to yourself.
Awesome, thank you...must try the coffee and bourbon sometime. Thumbs up!
Highly recommend
Don't you know about the dogman murders that happened there? It is very true. That land is stalked by an upright dogman who roams that land! I wouldn't go there if you paid me!!!
I’m familiar with it. Not really a believer but I know lots of people are.
Its like I'm hanging out with you guys on your adventures.
Wish you were!

The best. I love my hoodie. It’s over 20 years old. Thank you

Thanks. I don’t have a location I can provide but the article linked in the description has the coordinates if you’re interested in finding it.
New sub here, Robin from the San Francisco Bay Area Sasquatch Believers. It sure looks like you're having a good time LOL thanks for sharing this
Thanks for joining! It's hard not to have a good time with friends and the great outdoors.
Well that’s a happy and inviting name for a park. Sounds like a place we need to camp!
Herd lot of stuff about LBl deff would not go unarmed
I’m armed pretty much everywhere I go so that is not an issue.
Why would they leave a tent behind
People do it all the time. It gets messed up or a pole breaks and they leave it for some one else to deal with. Or maybe they were just messing with people knowing the background of the site. Hard to say.
This was really fun 😊
Thanks! Hope you’ll check out some of our other videos!
Such a gorgeous place
It really is
The only reason why these places are found as creepy is cause people hear creepy stories but when someone has never heard of a creepy story they feel nothing.
That is a great looking tent you have
It was a great tent. Unfortunately it but the dust not long after this.
Y'all know what to eat when you're out!! Yummo!!!
We certainly try to be the envy of everyone we may encounter.
You shouldn't use a metal spatula on a nonstick pan. However i love the way you guys make a fire.it's perfect
Yeah we didn’t have many options for that. I know people love that scraping sound though 😂
What campground was this
It’s not a campground. We were backcountry camping.
I have you guys lighted some aerials fireworks at the LBL camping site
Haven’t done fireworks
@@dadbudgetadventures Fair enough. All that aside, you guys look like you are having fun. :D I miss LBL.
@@xozegraf7179 we had an amazing time. It gets a little spooky out there sometimes but everything is better with good friends along!
Settle down, Colombo! Smfh...😂😂😂
The back pack and tent is kind of CREEPY and SCARY. IF you find anything else along those lines , I would have been home already.
And things definitely get creepier the further you are away from civilization.
Great observations! I'm glad you are enjoying the video.
I've camped at Lake Barkley, and the only thing that attacked me, was a bad case of poison ivy.
Yeah that’s about as bad as I expect it ever gets.

You are either crazy or have no sense to camp there, dogmen are real, and that poor family got slaughtered there, wish you got good pics of the canine tracks, dogman is probably still living there
Fortunately we have camped in the area several times with no issues. It’s a beautiful area and I hate that people are frightened away by the legends.

A lot of people mistake the sounds of wildlife for something "paranormal." Owl tracks in the mud or snow can be mistaken for 'cloven hooves.'
Absolutely. Often people don't go beyond hearing strange things or seeing something they can't easily explain before determining it must be paranormal. Sometimes you just have to be willing to accept a mundane explanation.
You guys are awesome. I enjoyed this video so much.
Thank you. I will pass that on to Mr. Fish as well.
Haunted camping is where it’s at.
Whoooop!
🙌
The tent and back pack men's people did leave fast literally got in car and left
That’s a possibility for sure. More likely they aren’t related. The backpacked looked like it had been there a lot longer. As for the tent, someone may have left it because it was damaged or they just got spooked and bailed.
I'm so stoned and that story about seeing the face sketched me out bro.
Good to know I could contribute! That’s kinda what ghost stories are all about. Thanks for watching!

“Haunted” campsite, eh? The guy who has slept alone overnight in Aokigahara AKA Japan’s infamous ’Suicide Forest’👻 has entered the chat... 😊
Found this video from searching for ‘scary hiking stories’ for...reasons.
“I already told you guys...we just haven’t showered..!”
🤣🤣🤣 Hilarious!
Glad you found us. Would love to camp at Aokigahara but I don’t see that happening any time soon. Right now I have to settle for less exotic locations. Be sure to check out the new video where we hunt for Spearfinger.

Totally agree! What more proof is needed?
until it appears around dusk
Not sure what “it” is but if it shows up at my campsite around dusk we are gonna have an issue.
Keep your mind open.
what does that even mean 💀😂

There are no pelicans in LBL... Cranes maybe! Seaguls! No pelicans
These were, in fact, American White Pelicans. We were there during their fall migration where they do, in fact, come through LBL. Mr. Fish got some great close-up pics of them.

Dogman walks on two legs😊
There’s that
Heres what people never think 🤔 about.
Great video, but you do know the legend of an Amish family being ripped to pieces by a dogman or wolfman back in the 80s right??? Lol just saying that's all
I’m familiar with the story and we explore the Dogman legend in another video. I’m familiar as well with the same story told about a family in an RV and a few other variations on it.
