Charmaine, thank you immensely for compiling all this information for us, complete with chapters! You’re awesome! And so stinking cute with your baby belly 🥰
Plants by Melissa just had a new plant with thrips, she sprayed and cleaned it.She sealed it in a bag came back 3 weeks later.Low and behold IT STILL HAD NEW THRIPS.Thank you Charmaine this is alot of good info to help alot of us plantys.
Holy moly, I’ve got a bone to pick with TH-cam!!! I’ve literally watched all of you and Alice’s videos up until you and Vince announced your pregnancy!! I haven’t been notified of yall’s videos since!! Looks like I have ALOT to catch up on. If anyone needs me for the next month, you’ll find me under the videos tab on this channel, or youdontevengrowhere! K bye. ❤
Yesssss queen I’m here for it. This is great! This just pulled me away from true detective 😅😂 this was so good. I’m rewatching !!! Well done. Really like having reference points even though I’m terrible at finding stuff when I actually need it. And omg soon you’ll be at 20k!!! Can’t believe it. You’re so good at this 😊
This is a super helpful video. I especially like how you talk a lot about supplemental nutrients, fungi, microbes and whatever else cause I feel like recently I see so much focus on a super sterile(?) method of plant growing which probably works in some environments. But I feel like the root systems on your plants speak for themselves and there’s more than one way to grow plants.
Love this video! I knew most of the things because I follow you religiously 😘 but it's awesome to have it all in one video! Keep up the great videos Charmaine! You look fabulous ❤
Thank you Thank you for this video!!! So appreciated and I learned so much. So nice to have all this great information in one place. #savedinmyfavorites ❤
Thank you! UPDATE: I purchased Great White and see nothing wrong with the smell. I also purchased King Crab and Myco Chum to feed the bacteria. I am hoping for good results.
Also want to pop in with quick info about NPK. Yes the numbers are the percentages of each in the mix, however just because the numbers are higher doesn’t mean you would be giving your plants more. Likely the miracle gro for example gets more diluted than the tps fertilizer. The more interesting info would be the ratio of npk. So the tps has much higher phosphorus levels than most typical aroid and houseplant fertilizers…. I don’t know too much about how specific nutrients are used by the plants, but maybe I will have to try that out!
You really answered a lot of the questions that I needed. Thanks so much for sharing such great info that will assist your subs to be better plant parents!
i've tested my pH probably 2 times in the last 10 years 😂 i probably should and i'm sure it would solve a lot of the problems i've had in the past with plants in no drainage but i'm so lazy 🥲
@unplantparenthood me too. 😂 I've tested my PH in semihydro (Pon) in drainage pots for months, but I'm also lazy and don't want to do it anymore. I will change my fertilizer to a special one for semihydro. Nowadays, I use a mineral fertilizer for "all houseplants". I hope that when I use a fertilizer that is ment to be in semihydro, my PH is okay without measuring it. The PH is the only downside for me in semihydro. Thank you for answering and sorry for my bad English. My first language is German. 😅
Idk how to feel about Billions and Mykos. Scientifically most of our tropical houseplants do not have a symbiotic relationship with Mykos. But people swear by it and say it works so well. Idk what to think.
Just wanted to throw it out there that I’ve been getting very very good sized, perfectly shaped glass vessels from Walmart for $1-$5 in the crafty/floral section at Walmart! But I do agree that most places sell glass vessels very much overpriced and I normally get them from the dollar store or thrift store too
aww thank you so much katie 🥹 i've definitely been craving a lot of weird things! two things in particular that are extremely odd are dog treats (dried fish) and church communion wafers 😂😂
@@unplantparenthood definitely weird stuff . I have to say this is the first time ever hearing this kind of a craving lol . I love that you're allowing us to go thru this with you. Thank you for sharing ☺️
I've had bad effects from CalMag! 😂 my alocasia with dynagro and calmag in no drainage with pon. Yikes. Curling leaves and jewel alocasia holding onto water and rotting away. With dynagro, that does have calcium and magnesium, I'd skip the CM.
how exactly do you use the great white? i’m not reporting at the moment, so would wanna mix with water. do i just mix and water my plants with it? how much to use? thanks for all your helpful content always!!
the coco peat is already washed when you buy it!, also peat farming isn't inherently bad for the environment, it can actually be carbon negative to harvest sustainably, but sadly must moss farming eradicates the whole bog to obtain the spaghnum
Not all coco peat is washed. Washing it is a huge concern because of how much water it takes to wash it. No matter which you chose, you are contributing to negative impacts. Most peat is being harvested in Canada, and the Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss Association (CSPMA) says they are growing 70% more than is being harvested. Wait till you learn about how lithium is mined and how iPhones are made.
neem oil is actually most effective as a soil drench. The active builds up within the plant and works as a systemic to kill of any pests that feed on it. there are actually studies on this that prove its effectiveness ☺️ I mix 1 tablespoon neem oil with 1 tablespoon castile soap per liter of water (or add enough soap so there’s no oil floating on the surface) then I water the soil through thoroughly. I water with fresh mix with every watering until I’m confident there are no more pests. I also spray leaves with the same mix just to knock off any visible pests 🙂 it needs a few waterings to build up within the plant and can be used as preventative too
I’ve actually used neem oil before and the smell makes me so sick! I stopped using it back in like 2019 🙈 I am going to be trying something called neem cake though, which comes in powder form which you use as a drench. I’m hoping it helps with both spider mites and fungus gnats 🤞🏼
Silica is so useless in my experience. I've used and didn't use it for a year each probably and saw absolutely zero difference. Waste of money if you ask me.
Charmaine, thank you immensely for compiling all this information for us, complete with chapters!
You’re awesome!
And so stinking cute with your baby belly 🥰
you're most welcome!! i hope it's useful 💚 also thank yoooooou 🥹 it's not very comfortable but it has been pretty wild to see my body change!

@@unplantparenthood right?! this show is so addictive.

Where do you find your chunky perlite?

I do like those shelves. We'll have to find a dupe.

Charmaine is the person I always go back to review her videos for. Such a large amount of information that I can learn!!
I can’t begin to thank you for this video. Beyond helpful. Thank you for all the work. ❤
Fantastic video. Can you do a video on the PH level with no drainage? Do you test it ever? How do you test? Or do you let the plants do their thing 😂

Charmaine that was a great idea for a video 😀🇨🇦
thanks linda! i'm happy you enjoyed it ☺️

Woohoo a Friday upload from Charmaine?! I am having a really bad day. Thank you for giving me something to escape to 💚
Such an informative vid! Loved it! Thank u🙏
Just goggled the exo. There are many versions. Which one do you have. Does it have wire screen, or is it fully glas?? Thank you.

Have you used the semi hydro method on scindapsus or syngonium?
Thank you for this video!!! Super helpful!!! I just wish Pudge could have made an appearance!!!!!! 😊❤
i'm gonna try to include him in more videos this year!!
You look prettier every time i see you. How is the pregnancy going? Have you been craving weird stuff? I would love a belly update lol 😊
Yes she does.
aww thank you so much katie 🥹 i've definitely been craving a lot of weird things! two things in particular that are extremely odd are dog treats (dried fish) and church communion wafers 😂😂

How do you secure the wire grids in the exo terras?
Such a helpful video! Thank you! ❤
Thank you so so much this was an amazing amazing video. This was such a great idea 👏👍
I have a similar collection to yours and switched from foliage pro to to tps one because of you months ago. Still amazing growth ❤
i'm thinking of giving dynagro a try! but i love TPS one so much i'm not sure i'll actually do it 😆
Great info loved the video. ❤
thank you for watching!! ❤❤
I see you have beneficials there. Doesn't your spray kill them?
And Barrina now has a free standing light that is soooo cheap compared to a Mother grow light.
Yes she does.
Thank you 🥹

Cal-mag literally stinks when it’s left to sit. I was trying to use it as a foliage spray and Ong the smell!
How do you flush the substrate. Is dynogrow a mineral or organic fertilizer?

The only thing your missing in your spiderrmit mix is neem oil. It works great. Try it next time and see how you like it 😊

yeah i'm not super convinced it's something that's going to stay in my supplies once i run out..
Good tho know. I am back and forth with getting it.
Oh yes I have had plants burn under Barrina.
Silica will make your ph rise very high. That might play a role if it’s not balanced

I love Great White. But I bought one called Sasquatch this last time cuz I couldn't afford the other, and its been working very well ❤
