It's the guitar mostly giving that effect, I'd have to figure out the chords but it moves in a skewed manner (I think some of the notes move chromatically) which creates this slightly unnverving impression

I think that this song is about the illusive feeling of fulfillment you have when you're in love. "Everything goes your way" for a while, when you're in the bubbly fairy tale phase but when you get back to reality it's all different. I get this "creepy atmosphere" and I think it comes from the fact that we know somehow that she's going to get her heart broken again.

This song make feel really sad, because I listen it when several good things hapend to me, I got the job that I want, and my crush said me that i like her, I though that finaly "everithing goes my way" but it dosn't..
"and now everything goes my way" is what gives it away. The rest of it is brilliantly written in a way that you think everything's good, but then you're like waaaiiittt a minute.
One thing I love? This music video has no story and the song isn't anywhere near my favorite, and the random shots of deer are weird... But the aesthetic of how it was executed? Cinematography, style, editing, lighting, etc? It was so beautiful. And I can see this being done with only a minute amount of gear. It really made up for it, and even more.
