Yes!!! I went the cream/beige route. Inspired by the sands of the Caribbean and the Behr color coconut twist for my Caribbean roots, I brought in black frames and decor, and added pops of color using artwork, floral arrangements, plants, and print and bold color pillows, and texture using linen, woven basket, etc.. I like her house. It would have been nice to know the sources of her artwork since I would like to start investing in some.

This gorgeous renovated house is a space we dreamed of dwelling in as children and this beautiful and talented sistah has made it real! I Love those paintings of the market women! She should fi a children's story book! And, if the J train goes to that street or block than I think that I was a squatter there invited by a Guyanese Rastas bredren sometime in December 2011 when I first came back to NYC. There was a woman squatter upstasirs and the rasta was downstairs. The staircase and entrance are very familiar. Blessed Love.

Absolutely stunning. That bathroom!!! The hand-painted art, her handmade tile designs!! Everything was exceptional. I also love how she explained the women in her artwork. Many times women of African descent are painted and described with such sorrow, but she flipped it! I wish the tour was longer!

I saw this video for the first time yesterday and was so in awe of the decor so I went to research more of her work and come to find out that she did a second renovation to the home and it is even more beautiful, colorful, and vibrant than the first. The kitchen and fireplace remodels are one of the best I’ve ever seen. She has a spectacular vision that is identifiable to herself and her cultural roots.

I love color especially on walls but since I'm a renter, the rules are different. Would love to know more about her tiles because they are fantastic. Malene is truly talented and I applaud her.
I love how the painting behind her looks like it's casting a darker blue shadow. It's not intended to be mistaken for an actual shadow because the blue tone is too vivid. She wants you to see right away that's an artistic concept. It's so minimalistic yet so creative.
Love seeing walls which are all painted in different colors. Each of my rooms has a different color - could never understand folks who keep just beige or white walls.
