I have a dime. I maybe should’ve bought the leather man. The only clear weakness in this video is the wire cutters of the dime.. but the jaws of the pliers open wider on the dime. That looks like number 10 solid wire, that does not cut easy even with a pair of Klein wirecutters. I bought the dime because of its scissors which I use a lot for cutting out coupons, and for cutting tape rather than pulling it and streching it apart. I like the box cutter for opening packages. Are use the knife ally, plastic packages even candy wrappers today and plastic Tamperproof seals around bottle caps of all kind or almost impossible without a knife...I don’t plan on doing any electrical work with my dime.. obviously it’s not designed for an electrician to work 40 hours a week stripping wire with, or for a Taylor to cut material with, or for putting cabinets together. It’s just for the occasional odd job
Yes, indeed, the only very annoying defect of the Dime is its wire cutter, really very bad. Why doesn't Gerber redesign it to make it effective?.... They are very obtuse and stubborn at Gerber...
I have this same color G/D and it is a winner hands down based only on the package opener blade alone, it seems like everything nowadays comes in clam packaging and nothing opens them (safer) faster than this blade! I actually used the pliers for the first time today, a window was partially open and the crank handle was stripped ( no way...lol) and I was able to close it with the Gerber Dime! I carry it in my watch pocket...its like it was made for it !!!! My EDC is a Sog Sideswipe, The G/D and a Streamlight micro stream flashlight.

I have broken the scissors on three of the leatherman literally from just being on a keychain also the file has snapped off I’m unimpressed with both of these and would recommend a victorinox tinker
The packaging cutter and the tweezers remain significant arguments in favor of DIME. In terms of quality, the Squirt is superior to it (cable cutter, scissor spring). As I wrote in the description, the choice between the two models is not obvious.

I love and use both. I prefer the knife on the Gerber, but the pliers feel stronger on the leatherman. I constantly rotate them in my edc

It's very subjective: Ps-4 100 more errective as a mini tool...
