Yes, This version of the song sounds good but they have done other tunes just as good as sweet liberation, I think the live versions sound much better, every member was unique in their way. One of my highlighed favorites was the 'The education of Jamie,' mesmerizing cut, you'll find live versions of that too here on TH-cam & spotfy free, they had an amazing left handed lead guitarist named Ronnie something. I'm not going to compare him to Jimi, the legendary James Marshall Hendrix, but Ronnie was something else, in addition an astounding vocal keyboards, like a modern-day funky Dr. Don Shirley, if you don't know who he was peep the movie' The green book, ' or buy the book.
OMG! My friends and I used to go see you and your FABULOUS band in NYC allll the time back in the day! Thanks for the good good times and memories and your music! Lordy, your music..............!!!
Always loved the Family Stand and their lyrics and their awesome band. Always a true fan. I accidentally got this cassette from a friend, that was more into rap and he give it to me, fell in love with it immediately.
Anthemic! Profound, strong lyrics, great message, incredible singing. Why this never became a massive hit will always be a mystery to me but everyone I play this to immediately becomes a fan. One of my all time favourite songs. EVER.
.....Sandra, there just AREN'T enough superlatives in the English language at present to articulate HOW fantastic, sublime a moment this was in ALL music history a quarter-century ago.....without QUESTION, one of THE greatest soul songs ever composed, and I really, REALLY wish Peter was contributing more of his work to artists NOW.....had it been released between 1975-1977, would've held the top spot on Billboard's Hot 100 for at LEAST 3 weeks....
I've always loved this song and the video (it was the video that made me run out and get the album the following payday... yeah, I was still buying LPs when this joint came out). Plus baby-girl on the violin is sizzling-hot!!!
This Lady Can Sing, Underrated, And Overlooked, A Hidden Gem 💎 📀
