I had chance to talk to him at times, because he had a apartment in St Louis at the Wellington Green apts on Chambers Road, ' which is in the area of the Micheal Brown protest that you see on the news. The other group staying there was the Bel Aires. They never got out of the Lou and just stayed local like today's group LLC formerly Masters Touch.
We discovered Phil Perry about 4 years ago in New Haven, CT. I had not heard of him and he was on the bill with Pieces of A Dream that night. I thought Phil Bailey of EWF had a tremendous voice, but Mr. Perry is right up there with him, just a tremendous voice, it gave me goose bumps! That night, Phil collapsed on stage, he had suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital. My wife and I were so shook up, we cried on the ride home and tried to contact the hospital to find about about his condition.... Thankfully, he survived and made a full recovery and, bless the Lord, is still gracing audiences with his wonderful talents! I just saw him again this past weekend in Waterbury, CT, and he looked and sounded fantastic!!! Thanks for all the great music, Phil!!!
