Has anyone else noticed that the style for Sekiro, his hair style and clothing, seems to be an amalgamation of a shinobi, a samurai and a monk. I don't think that it's a coincidence that you learn how to fight as all three in the game.
@@stormjoe505 you're thinking of the shinobi clans. Known for guerrilla warfare. But certain regiments of samurai are also called shinobi. They do the same, but the samurai versions are more into espionage and sabotage. I don't remember which group is older. But if I remember correctly, some of the ninja clans assimilated into the samurai.
"The DLC to come" hurts deep in 2021. I wish badly that we had gotten proper DLC for this game. There's so much more story to tell in this world, and I don't think I could ever get enough of this game's combat.
@@DerDevosLive Have you not seen the gameplay trailer? They didn't. The only changed Fromsoft added to (physical) combat is the counter-attack (R2) immediately after blocking and attack. Other than that, From seem to have focused more on Magic and (I would assume) Miracles balancing and making them [more] useful in combat.
@@DerDevosLive Ah!, I see what you mean. Well, you have the... Wolf-sword(is it?) look-alike weapon from the trailer. That one seem to have a weapon art that quick-dashed the playable character towards the enemy, and finished it with a backflip that pushed the player away I don't doubt there will be more like those in the game. Probably for most curved swords. We'll have to wait and see.
"The curse of immortality" seems to be a common theme in From Soft games. This thread runs through Dark Souls, Bloodborne and now Sekiro. It kinda makes it fun to think that these games are all in the same universe.
they need this to justify your deaths. What they want to do is to make a game that remains always consistent with the story they want to convey, so that all the game mechanics, enemy locations and items uses can serve as clues to discover the story. In that goal, they obviously need something to justify that your character dies and keeps coming back, as the game itself requires it
It's been said that all the dark souls games are predating blood-borne. And that there is evidence of this in blood-borne in the chalice dungeons where you see old corpses of dead men in knight like armor. Something you don't see anywhere else in blood-borne. also the dark souls series is could easily take place during the medieval times which is between the 5th century ad and the 15th century ad. Which easily predates Victorian England which is the inspiration for the setting of blood-borne. Which began in the 1800's and ended in the early 1900's. which is perfect because sekiro shadows die twice can fit right in between the two as the heir of the samurai began in the 1600 and ended in the 1800.
@@chrislopez7395 It's pretty much confirmed that Dark Souls and Bloodborne take place in different universes, although there is an argument to be made that the world of Bloodborne is the new painted world created at the end of DS3, painted with the blood of the dark soul. Sekiro on the other hand has many indications that it is related to Bloodborne beyond themes of cursed immortality. Blood granting immortality, centipede living inside people, transcendental beings living in pocket dimensions (dreams/divine realms) that bestow immortality to a chosen champion or heir, squid people, the list goes on. I personally believe that those two games take place in the same world.
@xBirds At the start of the game? Genichiro's super easy at the start. I managed to kill him. Well "kill", you still get your arm cut off, but at least you get the satisfaction of beating his ass.
@xBirds I was referring to the very first encounter, at the start of the game, where he cuts off your arm. No mikiri counter available yet, although it's not really necessary. That first encounter with him is super easy. The second encounter is not much harder either, though, took me 2 or 3 tries in total.
I love how on the surface it has that classic 'last days of the samurai' feel, with the old rulling clans beeing brought to heel by the central regime. Also that it exemplifies the last remnants of devine culture and heritage disapearing because these familys would rather that knowledge died with thier clan as a final act of pride and defiance.
tobyash92 If From is sticking to historical accuracy it would have to be under the Toyotomi regime because the Date clan wiped out the Ashina back in 1589. At that time Date were aligned with Hideyoshi and he’d banned war for personal gain so its likely this game details Hideyoshi’s punishment of the Ashina remnants
Guns are not too new. They just weren't super practical until the modern age because of the improvements to design. Although I am annoyed with how many seem to be rather advanced.
Sekiro had a great story and was so much less convoluted then other souls games, especially elden ring , the story in that game is retarded to figure out unless you wanna get 0 bitches or watch TH-cam explaining it 😂
I am not a gamer myself but your lore hunting and expositions are amazing. I just watch these to hear the stories. It's astounding how you piece together the story in a cohesive whole and your attention to detail is infinite at times. Thank you for sharing this.
I love how both Isshin and Genichiro are not vilians. They are like the Wolf they protect what is dearest to them with all strenght they have. Just like the Wolf. The real vilian is Owl who killed his son and betrayed his country for a dream of immortality. If only he knew it's not a blessing but a curse
Genichiro attacks a child and pretty much kills him. He is a villain. Isshin is cool though. At his worst in the game he tries to fulfill his grandsons final wish.
@candlestone5397 the wolf killed the child at the ending of the game. Is wolf the villain? Wolf also destroyed and killed all of ashina's defenses and Defenders. I believe wolf, genichiro and ishin are all good guys. And the goals of the shinobi and genichiro are the same, but how they're doing it are diffrent.
@@candlestone5397genichiro did what he did to protect what he loved, wolf killed thousands of people, probably more than genichiro so according to that logic wolf is a supervillain
the goal of Wolf is simply to fulfill his master's wishes and protect him. He was raised to be little more than a tool and doesnt have the same morality we have because of that. he kills around 2-300 people to do that. Genichiro DOES have the morality we have, and Decides the best way to save his land is to force a child into something. and when that doesnt work he kills the child, and then himself in order to bring back his grandfather while making his last wish to kill The shinobi instead of, you know, the one's who are trying to take the land. Genichiro is at worst a villain, and at best inept.
The Interior Ministry is highly likely the central or regional government lead by Tokugawa Ieyasu. The first clue comes straight from the name Interior Ministry, the Kanji version of which is 内府, the position Tokugawa held under Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and how he was referred to by some even afterward (江戸の内府). The second clue is the Kanji version of the Red Guard (赤備). It is a legion in Sengoku era originated from the Takeda clan, and later adopted by Sanada Yukimura (sided with Ishida after Toyotomi) and Ii Naomasa (sided with Tokugawa after Toyotomi). Combined with the previous clue, the Red Guard in Sekiro is probably the legion led by Ii Naomasa sent by Tokugawa. By my interpretation, this piece of lore puts the historical setting of Sekiro between the Battle of Suriagehara (and the demise of Ashina clan) and the end of Sengoku era, which happens to be the period in which Tokugawa was rapidly gaining power.
Ziliang Lin I like the way you broke that down. I see you mentioned toyotomai hideyasu, you think this game slightly relates to onimusha? Seeing that hideyaso toytsmai was in that as well. Samounuske armor Was red like the interior ministry. The era or setting to this games date back to feudal Japan. And they really have similar names tbh. I mean you have the Okinaga flame vent and in onimusha you have the main antagonists which is nobunaga oda. You fight demons in onimusha and you fight infested in sekiro (which are demons pretty much) Idk I guess what I’m trying to say is what if sekiro is a back story or something of how demons or infested became to be in the land of Japan. The main antagonists in onimusha dawn of dreams was a demon who was a centipede, And i just feel the games are somehow related to each other.

Dude I'm so grateful for all of your content. Please never stop. Your editing, your voice, your ability to flesh out the stories, retain lore and communicate the plot efficiently blows me away every video. Thank you thank you!! I don't watch alot on TH-cam, but your channel is always a staple!
There was a lore video, can’t remember if it was vaati or not however, it basically states that the amoured knight and his son went to the monks to cure his son from a sickness. The monks were doing experimental techniques and the knight was to pay the monks with guarding the temple. But it was all for nought since Robert was already dead and the only child to survive the process was the girl who gives you rice.
@@KawfeeKun Also, I think his name is Roberto, not Robert. By the look of his armor, the armored knight is portuguese, although the Robert's Firecrackers use the english version of the name...
Such a great game. I almost gave up during my first play through, frustrated with how little I understood about the combat system.. Glad I didn’t give up because this game has become one of the greatest games I’ve ever played. 10/10
Your editing has gotten so excellent man, well done. The timing of the music and sound effects in tandem with your voice is stellar, adds a lot of atmosphere.
One fights for his master... The other one for his land Both are determined to give up everything to achieve their goal no matter the cost. Makes you wonder about who the antagonist really is, in my opinion. I love stories like these! Because context matters and depending on how you look at it there can be one antagonist or both or maybe none of them.... Always interesting
"Drink them, and You may inherit an echo of Kuro's immortality" Echoes of his blood, you say? Now it's cannon, Sekiro is set in the same world as Bloodborne. Fight me.
Add to this the Vermin being very close to the Undying centipedes. And there was a Bloodletting Beast that was headless with a centipede sticking out its head. And Yamamura, from an "eastern land" having an outfit very similar to Sekiro's. And that Dragon Blood Droplet is sure pale-blood colored...
@@chilairearts4238 It wouldn't work. The characters in Bloodborne and Dark Souls are extremely powerful because they actually do absorb the strength of their defeated foes in the form of blood echoes and souls, which empower their physical and magical abilities to such an extent that they can topple superhuman beings like "gods" and lovecraftian horrors with ease. While there is certainly magic at work in Sekiro, the titular protagonist is still just a normal human who trained himself to accomplish incredible deeds almost entirely through raw skill and d e t e r m i n a t i o n. While the fight would be amazing to witness, especially considering the fact that Sekiro does have the immortal-slaying Mortal Blade, the power discrepancy is far too vast and he wouldn't stand a ghost of a chance against a Hunter or Ashen One.
This time the English was way better than Japanese for me. I found the voice of owl horrendous in Japanese. And plus its really difficult to read subtitles in a game where it demands your 100% focus during a fight. Normally I always prefer the default language but this time I just didnt feel it in Japanese.
@Criminal Scum I honestly loved every character's voice in English. They did a really good job. Especially owl and genichiro. And yes I agree, sekiro's voice suits his character very well too in English.
@@shreyanshsingh379 The English voice acting was phenomenal as well. Scuptor, Sekiro, Gyobu, Isshin, Owl, Genichiro, all of them had amazing English voice actors.
I know. There was a bunch of questions I had when I finished it, and I was thinking there was a good bit to this game's story than people were thinking. Not as weird as Miyazaki's stories, but still there is an interesting story there.
I guess this is a Miyazaki's story just as in the other games, but we just need more time to unravel it, currently, it's still the beginning of the story hunt
The lore just isn't well presented ingame. That's not my fault for not listeting. I skipped all the dialogue in my first playtrough, yet this video is verry interesting to me. Guess a youtuber is a better presenter than a from
5:58 Is pretty shocking to hear what a boss is willing to say when they think they’ve won and to hear what they say on their dying breath. And for Sekiro to be constantly seeing this over and over is probably an emotional rollercoaster. Some of the stuff they’ll say to you as they go on to do whatever they had planned next really shows how much they actually cared about you or at least put emphasis on that fact. But it’s also true that their dying words show how much they didn’t realize they thought about you.
We need a DLC for Sekiro, or another masterpiece from fromsoft. This AAA company is one of the few that treat games like art, not just a product or cash grab.
This was so enjoyable to watch. I was riveted as your voice & the music combined with the story in a feeling of peace with a tinge of sorrow. What a great introduction.
The way that you use the footage as they speak and how the camera is in a perfect angle is amazing 🤩 now that I'm about to finish the game I realize how enjoyable would have been having the story being told like you present it
PunkZombie1300 - Samurai shouting out their name & deeds is a long tradition. If you were smart, you only engaged the enemy as a last resort, falling back from foes you couldn’t beat & intimidating others into submission. After all, most of the enemy soldiers were Ashigaru farmers. IIRC, if you could intimidate the enemy into retreating from your badassititude, you could win without bloodshed. ... of course, the westerners didn’t get (or care about) the memo, and just shot people who came forward for pre-battle boasting.

Oh. I never thought we could go there early. I always fight Genichiro first or go to Senpou Temple. But if we head to Mibu Village first, we could fight Shirahagi, then Orin and Corrupted Monk. I wonder what Kuro would say if I already have the Shelter Stone when I meet him in the castle.
I'm pretty sure that Owl NEVER planned for Wolf to survive Hirata Estate. From my understanding, it was completely outside of his expectations for a stray orphan he picked up to eventually become Lord Kuro's shinobi. At that point, it's most likely that Owl did not have extensive knowledge of the immortality granted by the Dragon's Lineage, and simply desired to obtain power via temporary cooperation with the Interior Ministry. That's why both Great Shinobi Owl and Owl (Father) are suprised to see you alive. The whole tragedy of Hirata was by his design... With the sole exception of Wolf coming out of it alive.
The text from the Owl Father memory suggests that he definitely did not intend for Wolf to die at the Hirata estate. It describes Owl's views on Wolf, while he did take wolf on on a whim he grew to love him in his own way and hoped to one day duel him to the death. Pretty much confirms that sekiro was not supposed to die there and in fact was not even supposed to be in the estate. The text ends with "he got his wish, if only in an old memory"
@@robadc Precisely. Think about it. The real Owl actually DID battle Sekiro, so what is the ending of that text supposed to mean? But this is the memory of the "past" Owl, and what it means is probably something along the lines of: even though Owl grew attached to Wolf and wished for such a battle, his plan required Wolf's death, and so the opportunity of a duel was lost forever. But in this old memory, you change the outcome and give Owl what he wanted. Remember that Owl, as a Shinobi, is not ruled by emotions and attachment. He can block it all out in order to achieve his goal. That is why he simply assassinated Sekiro in the past, and why he is surprised to see him survive (both in the memory and in the real world), and why the Lone Shadow in the memory is surprised to see you too. The plan was definitely to kill you.
@@IlluvatarPaladin My theory on it was that Owl purposefully lured Wolf away from the estate in an effort to spare him. When Wolf showed up it was a major miscalculation and he was forced to access the situation (faking his death, we know Owl has a penchant for manipulation). When Wolf fought and killed Lady butterfly it was a step too far and he was forced to intervene and kill him. I suspect he wanted his duel with Sekiro while he was still in his prime, to have it be a true duel. Atop Ashina castle the Owl we find is older, slower, weaker than he used to be. From what we know about the Owl, that's not what he would've wanted.
@@robadc actually here's his plan. He sent out Sekiro to a mission, leaving Kuro and the Hirata Estate vulnerable to any attack. If you explored the Estate and found out the guy in one of the shack he will tell you that you were nowhere to be found when things go south. Implying that he was suppose to guard Kuro personally and the area as well. But due to the fact he was still under Usui, the Owl's command he should still accept orders from him. With the whole estate left vulnerable, Usui finally executed the raid. Also the guy in the shack knows that the whole scene is just an act in order to kidnap Kuro with him saying that you're a traitor. Sekiro, without knowing that he became a vehicle for the whole scene. Him without knowing that the raid was conducted by his Father, set out to save Kuro from below which is a trap. You see, Lady Butterfly knew that Owl was into something really bad, and she intervenes by having Kuro downstairs. (Who knows perhaps she also wants the immortality, or she was to keep Kuro from Owl). She acts aggressively as she knew you were set to go down to kill her so that the Owl could kill you and have Kuro. The only flaw in this theory is that if Owl stabbed Sekiro after the fight then why not get Kuro, it's his perfect opportunity. Perhaps, his time ran out and Genichiro and his troops was already there to save Kuro. Or Owl was into some real shit plotting into something that would make him the hero of the story and the whole political campaign rather than a shinobi killing a child. Also why Owl wants you to betray and kill Kuro if he can kill the kid by his own from the very start and at the rooftop in-game. So many loose ends, feel free to correct and present new theories they are fun
@@robadc Yeah, he was probably just going to inform Wolf of Kuro's death post-fact and have him join the team instead. But then again, the Lone Shadow does say you're supposed to be dead, so who knows what Owl's exact idea was... UNLESS, the Lone Shadow was the one who stabbed Wolf after he killed Lady Butterfly, and Owl only arrived after Wolf and Kuro were gone. Which would kinda explain why Owl didn't interfere in the fight and how Wolf survived without Owl's knowledge. That would also perfectly explain what the Lone Shadow says when you arrive at the memory: he thinks you should be dead because HE was the one stabbing you!
Actually, what's interesting about Sekiro, and presumably the reaction of the fans, is that the PLOT of Sekiro is much more complicated than Dark Souls, whereas Dark Souls had much more complicated lore. But unlike Dark Souls 2, which also had a complicated plot, Sekiro delivers it in a phenomenally interesting and less confusing way. Pretty much everything you find, really furthers to expand the plot of the game, rather than the specifically the lore. Almost everything you find is critical to understanding the core plot of the game better. But an important aspect of this is that the core plot, without further investigation, is simple enough that you can understand the basics of what's going on, without further exploration (aside from a few bizarre things that happen). When you fully investigate and 100% the game, everything unfolds to show you all the reveals and twists of the main plot line. Another thing to point out is that even the SECRETS are paced in an interesting way. It's almost like there is a b plot, a c plot, and a subtext that is all paced in parallel to the pacing and reveals of the main plot. A perfect example: The purple shinobi at hirata estate. The first time you encounter this character MIGHT be the first time you encounter a shinobi of this kind at all and additionally, you might not even realize who this fella is when encountering him. It's not till much later in the MAIN plot, that you are given direct facts that these purple buddies are Interior Ministry SCUM (however, exploring secrets can reveal hints to this ahead of time). Now what's interesting about the pace of this reveal is this: The 1st ministry shinobi, found in the hirata estate, is a secret to begin with and entirely missable AND you discover before finding out he's a ministry shinobi. So you might have people that discover the secret, wonder what it's about, and then entirely forget about it when they learn that the purple dudes are ministry shinobi. It takes either a reason to return to the hirata estate and fight the enemy again (like in a second playthrough) to make you re-discover the truth (this time equipped with the information that he's a ministry shinobi), OR for you to remember that the purple dude was AT the hirata estate, at the time it is revealed to you that the purple dudes are ministry. In the second scenario, at the same time you learn who the purple dudes are, it clicks in your brain that the ministry were behind Hirata estate also. Because of this pacing, the discovery of the truth behind harata estate is IMMENSELY satisfying. It provides players that find these well paced secrets, the satisfaction of feeling like they discovered the truth themselves. On the other hand, it can give players that hold of on hirata estate, or return on a second play through, a sense of reveal. But the kicker about that example, among many of the potential examples of secrets and pacing in Sekiro, is that virtually ALL of it is directly related to the main plot. Basically: Dark Souls has a simple plot, with some secret subtext, and A LOT of secret lore which gives you new outlooks on the main plot. Simple plot + secret lore with subtext. But Sekiro is more like this: Seemingly simple plot but with secrets that ADD to the plot directly. The more you explore dark souls, the more you learn about the world, which gives you insight to the pretty straight forward plot. The more you explore sekiro, the more a much more complicated and intricate plot unfolds.
It's so weird to hear the English voice acting . Because I played though the game twice on Japanese voice acting. Edit: Damn, 115 likes. More than i have ever got :D ty
I'm not sure if it was mentioned in any of your videos, but in the opening trailer, Isshin definitely wields Black Mortal Blade when fighting Tamura (check frame by frame, it has the same guard and handle). I think it is quite important.
Man, I'm so grateful for this video - I don't remember (or missed) so much of this. I played with the original Japanese voice acting with English subtitles for "authenticity" but I think in the long run it made it harder to remember certain details etc. Plus dying over and over (and over) in between story segments meaning it would be HOURS between learning about story elements doesn't help for keeping on top of everything
Exactly what I've been thinking through all the lore info we get. Lady Tomoe is such an interesting character that I felt her in some way as important as (if not more important than, in this case) as Lady Maria. So I really hope we get a DLC revolving around her, maybe a sort of remembrance like the Hirata Estate we access through the Buddha offering.
You HAVE to bring Tomoe Gozen to the next video. I'm 99% sure the Tomoe in the game is based on her. I mean a female Japanese general that fought with a big bow on her back? While in the game she was Genichiro's mentor and Genichiro fight with a big bow on his back? Plus, she was born in the same time of the real Ashina clan in the history.
I think I'd like a DLC where we play as Genichiro, on his journey for the second sword. I'd especially enjoy if he had his own variation of the gameplay, being able to use the Bow or the Lightning of Tomoe and getting more of an insight into his complex.
works with only one of the endings ( the "let's go west" one), so how to transfer the other endings into expansion ? "naah, you did the game wrong" as the expansion starting point for those with shura and other final decisions is not satisfying IMHO
@@pronewun5832 well, the wolf doesnt survive every original ending or is on killing spree or he is some thousand kilometers apart from Japan. so unless the dlc is totally different in story or timeline i sense some problems.

Just to clartify, those ninjas you fought on the rooftops before Genichiro are actually serving Ashina. I thought they served Owl/Genichiro directly, hence we find them trying to ambush Isshin, but when ministry ninjas invade with Owl, they do fight against them, for the rest of the game. Not to mention they wear Tengu masks and are thus probably led by the guy who requests you exterminate rats to begin with.
The guy who asks you to eliminate rats is Isshin himself. Also they fight with the blue robed Ashina Elites below the dojo outside Isshin's room if you lure them there so no I don't think they are allied with Isshin. They are called nightjar ninja by the way
It makes me really happy to know that you think Tomoe is gonna get her own DLC. She’s like the Artorias of this game, just someone you hear about constantly and how great, splendid, and powerful they are. I’m glad you also think she’s gonna get DLC
tatri2 I would love a fight. Maybe like a corrupted version of her in some alternate reality or memory, at least if your playing as Wolf. I just want to be able to use lightning attacks!
My true master wasn't neither Shinobi owl or Lady Butterfly. It was the Undead Warrior at the Dilapidated Temple. That guy teached me EVERYTHING in this game, and i was literally in tears when he finally asked me to put an end to his misery.
TheKrustaceoX That was a genuinely touching moment. I can’t even imagine what a release that must have been for Hanbei. Never being able to die and having to live with the guilt of surviving his own master. A truly bittersweet end to his tale. Amazing how from can craft such a likeable character who on the surface seems to be nothing more than a “combat trainer”
Once again an amazing video from your channel. From Software games have the most fascinating stories i have come across in gaming. You can criticize how they tell them and that a lot of players will never fully grasp them, because they are hidden and you have to find out on your own. But the way they do it and the way it all comes together when watching your videos is in a weird way the best thing i have ever experienced in gaming. I play these games very slowly, read every text, try to connect all the dots. A lot of them where clear, but others where not. It is like opening your eyes, and for the first time you can finally see the whole picture. And it is much more delicate than you ever imagined. I am truly grateful for the beautiful connection you bring to the from software games lore and i don't want it any other way. This is much more satisfying than a game that presents its story in a classical fashion. Very much similar to the difficulty of the games and how your struggle to beat them forges a connection that could otherwise not have been, the way they tell stories makes the connection even stronger. What a time to be alive.

zEeoN yes that’s the only things you have to do but it is satisfying to hear Sekiro’s dialogue when fighting the demon of hatred. It’s just so epic and the fight itself is more than defeating a demon and gaining the memory. But you’re actually saving the sculptor and setting him free

"The curse of immortality" seems to be a common theme in From Soft games. This thread runs through Dark Souls, Bloodborne and now Sekiro. It kinda makes it fun to think that these games are all in the same universe.
PieSky FlyGuy wonder how it will be incorporated into the norse game?
well i hope it is?!
From Software, Makers of Immortal Universe
they need this to justify your deaths.
I personally believe that those two games take place in the same world.

the interior ministry is implied to be Tokugawa Ieyasu's faction. their emblems are very similar.
@@blakedoubrava1149 There's also guns everywhere.
Well its only natural since its right after sengoku era so its Tokugawa Ieayasu or Toyotomi Hideyoshi
tobyash92 If From is sticking to historical accuracy it would have to be under the Toyotomi regime because the Date clan wiped out the Ashina back in 1589.

They also said it takes place at the end of the Sengoku era in pre-release interviews. That's some cool info and connections to history, though.
thanks for the setting info, this actually makes it cooler to put your killings into historical context 😁

Samounuske armor Was red like the interior ministry. The era or setting to this games date back to feudal Japan. And they really have similar names tbh.
Honestly, i didn't expect this game to be this badass. Exiting fighting mechanics and an amazing story line. I just love it.

been watching your videos for awhile now. I am certain that i would of never played through any of these games without you, thanks alot man.
100 % agree
Bloodborne lore 👀
Wow great post
@@MTLGSE thanks, I had forgotten I wrote that
I consider this game a masterpiece! Sekiro has easily become my favorite game.
12:36 i love it how he get interupted by the marvelous GYOBU MASATAKA ONIWA and just go along being silent the whole time throughout his introduction
I was just wondering when will Vaati release sekiro lore video, I consider this video a gift from the sky
Gift from the Divine Child of Rejuvenation.
if Tomoe DLC happens she is gonna be fkn Friede+L.Maria kickass, prepare your Anor to get rekt
fire, frost and now lightning will kick your ass many times
Gyobu Masataka Oniwa knows how to make an epic entrace.
30 minutes ago my heart was distraught that no Vaati video was out. Now I can rest peacefully.
It's so weird to hear the English voice acting . Because I played though the game twice on Japanese voice acting.
Edit: Damn, 115 likes. More than i have ever got :D ty
Me too, my first two playthroughs are with Japanese voices, but I'm planning on playing NG+ and NG++ using English voices.
Gyobu masataka oniwa is a madman with English synchro x)
@@AscendantStoic Yea, maybe i'll do that too, with the other 2 endings. Just need motivation to play the game twice all over again :p
Japanese audio sounds more authentic on gyoubu imo
"WARE! Oniwa Gyoubu Masataka nari!!" sounds a lot better than "MYYYYYY NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME"
Man I keep coming back to watch your Sekiro lore vids just to remind myself why I love this game so much. 😭😭

Absolutely amazing video, the clarity of your explanations is refreshing
I'm not sure if it was mentioned in any of your videos, but in the opening trailer, Isshin definitely wields Black Mortal Blade when fighting Tamura (check frame by frame, it has the same guard and handle). I think it is quite important.
Yotsuya - Explains how he has info on it, and perhaps how Genichiro got it. Good eye!
different hilt if you look at it closely

Lmao I've avoided every lore vid in my recommended even tho I've played the game.. much love my dude keep up the great work 💖😆
Man, I'm so grateful for this video - I don't remember (or missed) so much of this.
Wow, the editing and writing of this video is professional level. So impressed!
shadows cry twice, I'm so hyped, I love your take on lore
I have paused the video at 0:01 just to comment “ I was waiting for this video “ now I can watch it in peace.
Me: Wow guardian ape was pretty hard, I hope I get a break now.
Owl: Hold my bell'
Me: Please no more
Isshin: Hold my Sake
Guardian ape is probably my favorite boss fight I’ve ever done,
the Owl fight I spent around 50~ tries on.
I’m scared of Isshin…
@@simonmalmstrom9593 no you will not be scared, but you will be angry and frustrated.
@@UltimateSG15 Hmm idk about that, tbh I havent gotten frustrated or angry at any of the games bosses.
I think I'd like a DLC where we play as Genichiro, on his journey for the second sword. I'd especially enjoy if he had his own variation of the gameplay, being able to use the Bow or the Lightning of Tomoe and getting more of an insight into his complex.
Great game, here's hoping it will have a DLC expansion too.
works with only one of the endings ( the "let's go west" one), so how to transfer the other endings into expansion ?
"naah, you did the game wrong" as the expansion starting point for those with shura and other final decisions is not satisfying IMHO
Most likely through bells. They could do a lot with memories like Hirata
I just want wolf to go to yharnam since it takes place in the same universe and he went west
@@pronewun5832 well, the wolf doesnt survive every original ending or is on killing spree or he is some thousand kilometers apart from Japan. so unless the dlc is totally different in story or timeline i sense some problems.
@@rivenoak the DLC would likely be extra areas and bosses that just add to the timeline in the centre of the game, rather than adding on to the end
Hey, I just came back to sekiro recently. Never finished it. Found this video. And remember how your music choice for Elden ring get overpowered early was so exceptional. Again, The music you choose here while explaining Isshin and the spirit of genchiro taking to kuru. Excellent. Just so good. Like so good

Vaati i need you to make a lore video that explains how the guardian ape is able to poopoo without peepee. We need this
There's quite a bit of liquid covering that battlefield though. Just sayin'.
easy. He shoves his hand up his butthole and grabs the poopoo from inside.
Maybe his dick has a problem :v
All of these are valid explanations

They are called nightjar ninja by the way
@@indiankid8601emma herself says ingame that Isshin ordered the night jar to put smoke signals on the rooftops (route to secret passage in reservoir)
Holy shit I didn’t realize how much of a favor I did for myself not changing the dialog to English
It makes me really happy to know that you think Tomoe is gonna get her own DLC. She’s like the Artorias of this game, just someone you hear about constantly and how great, splendid, and powerful they are. I’m glad you also think she’s gonna get DLC
Would be a real shame not to meet her. Or maybe even, fight?
tatri2 I would love a fight. Maybe like a corrupted version of her in some alternate reality or memory, at least if your playing as Wolf. I just want to be able to use lightning attacks!
And like ludwig, laurence and kos in bloodborne
Fuck you for spoiling
I just beat Demon of Hatred😭. And Sekiro knew it was the sculptor. Felt so satisfying
Rah B How did you make him understand? He says no when talking to the old lady.
zEeoN you have to get the sake to have a lot of conversations with the sculptor. Talk to the old lady as much as you can, it’s basically a lot of dialogue you have to have with the sculptor, Emma, and I believe Isshin. But mainly the sculptor
Rah B Thanks! I saw it happen in another unrelated video shortly after by pure happenstance and I only missed one eavesdrop to make it happen myself, it seems. But at least there is no trophy tied to it, so heard is heard ;)
zEeoN yes that’s the only things you have to do but it is satisfying to hear Sekiro’s dialogue when fighting the demon of hatred. It’s just so epic and the fight itself is more than defeating a demon and gaining the memory. But you’re actually saving the sculptor and setting him free
