    I need a BT speaker for my desk. I know how loud I play my music/ TH-cam vids/ movies. I don't need flashing lights to improve my listening experience. My recommendation is that viewers to your channel calculate their dB max & min (e.g. with the Decibel X app) taken 1 meter from the speaker, and look for best quality at this dB range.
    Thanks for your technical details and independent measurements; I struggle to find consistent and complete info from manufacturers and retailers, who love to drown the potential buyer in adjectives.

    Hi Alan. Could you do a video on how we can get the best from our speakers. It's OK buying speakers with Bluetooth 5, APTX, etc but if phone/tablets don't support or are not turned on we won't be getting best quality. And it would be interesting if you could demonstrate difference in sound quality between say 4.2 or 5 and qualities and explanation of APTX and all the other less basic audio compression applications.

    • @alanrossreviews
      @alanrossreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hum, i think there have been a lot of videos done on this. 4.2 is fine in terms of sound quality, its the other things that bluetooth 5 gives that make it an upgrade. codecs are really about bitrate, so potentially ldac and aptx giving higher bitrates thus better quality. think 128kbps mp3 vs 320kbps mp3

    @KrazyShark 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It was really hard to notice the difference at 60%, like you can tell the difference but i wasn't quite sure which one was the best.
    At 80% i can easily say the Denon has some amazing soundstage. Great bass, clarity on point, very hi-fi and open. The Sony felt a tiny bit more closed and even with the bass pushed at 6+ the impact wasn't really there and it was too bright for my ears. It's a clear sound but it can tire the ear really fast with those mids. The PL7 was the worst by far. The sound felt compressed, kinda "artificial" sound, very tinny, not great at all.
    At 100% the Sony just goes full JBL Xtreme 3 ear destroyer mode: the mids are really pushed up and the bass and highs are really lacking. The PL7 is not great either but the Denon, despite being pretty quiet is at least really balanced and a lot warmer and rounder with the bass.
    Too bad the Denon is just too pricy, the sound, the quality, the design is great but for less you can get the Soundcore Motion+ for a portable, just as hi-fi, customizable EQ speaker or the Soundcore Motion Boom for a really really fun sound experience with the deep bass but that one is just too big compared to these boys.
    Great review as usual Alan ! :D Keep it up.

    Out of these three - buy the Sony. Many of the Denons have a faulty battery, it's a known issue. I have one. It's discontinued btw. Also the Denon lacks midrange so it needs some EQ to make the acoustic guitars and vocals pop. I found myself using the Xiaomi Mi much more often then my Denon (before the battery died). The Xiaomi Mi is perfect for listening to podcasts and speech heavy audio. When listening to podcasts on the Denon in a noisy environment I couldn't hear what was going on 'cause of the missing midrange. The Xiaomi Mi lacks the bass though. But it's cheap!

    Do you think the xb33 goes deeper than motion+ ...? Oluv has gone mad or what...? you can customize the motion+ how you like it with proper EQ and SONY's app is freaky... I am not on his patreon I don't know much about what he thinks about these two speakers but he recommends sony xb33 in 2021 (doesn't mean xb33 is the best in class out there) but in 2020 motion+ was the king even compared to xb30 ... you think xb30 is better than xb33...? oluv thought latest sony xb line up will be crap... xb43 is kind of though doesn't justify its size...

    • @alanrossreviews
      @alanrossreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      xb33 has more bass until you hit top volumes then the m+ takes over. so at max the m+ can produce more deep bass than xb33 in custom mode. he called the xb33 a mini boombox, to be honest i was surprised he prefers the xb33 over the m+, maybe his sounds different to mine. he seems to be quite slanted to dispersion these days which isnt a big focus for me. i havent tested xb30 against the xb33 because to get the most out of it you have to change eq and bass mode depending on volume. but i wouldnt be surprised if the xb30 gave it a run for its money. the xb40 could almost match the xb43. the thing is the sound is a little more consistent now on newer sonys so thats whay i use them over the xb30 and 40. also oluv is heavy slanted to his outdoor testing these days so this will favour the more v shaped speakers.

      @@alanrossreviews I'm disappointed at him ... because his focus is now on patreon... I like widely dispersed sound... motion+ sounds really good even at 180 degree angle compared to others... but oluv's indoor tests were really nice... outdoor tests are too much colored now ... damn whatever oluv did put a crown 👑 on motion+ he likes the motion boom too ... you checked his life q30 headphone video vs apple airpod max...? damn both are great noice cancellation is top notch on apple but because of the soundcore custom eq the life q30 sounds better refined than apple... what...? I don't know but I think something was going on between him and soundcore... was he being honest or biased...? You are right his one can be a lot different ... maybe got screwed hard over the past year....

      oluv is honest for sure,. no i dont bother with his headphones as im not a big headphone user, happy with what i have. im not sure about reviews for headphones because of too many variables both with seal, measurements, users ears etc. hard to get solid measurements even when spending 10s of thousands on equipment.

      @@godspeedsr1471 no reviewer is goin to use a third party eq app to adjust all speakers before giving it a review. Any speaker that comes with a built in eq app will have a huge advantage over those that dont. Soundcore products are average but when eqed, it does sound great.
