I went through a lot of the same crap my first 5 years or so, but after nearly starving, the gravy train stopped. My wife's family finally realized that if they want something, they have to get a J O B and pay for it themselves. I learned the hard way, but now they all realize that no means no and I have said no to everything for the last 10 years. They don't visit very often anymore and there is now peace in the valley here. My wife still doesn't understand why I won't buy her a house and I keep telling her that if she gets a job, I will help her. No job, no help from me as I worked my ass off for the money I receive and I am not going to piss it away so she can house her family. I know that is what would happen the minute we bought a house and I have been down the road of letting one move in and all of them tried to come in on us. What did I do? I moved out ant told the wife her family could support her or she could go with me without them. She decided that she would come with me and we will not even allow her family to spend the night with us as they get their foot in the door and I have to practically throw them out bodily. A man has to do what a man has to do.

I paid mortgage on a house for 16 years (.paid off 25 %of the loan even though I paid more than the cost of the house) I also upgraded it with my labor .not someone else's and sold it for a profit . I pay the going rate here for products and services .not 3x the amount . And I don't give my hard earned money away . .we have been asked a dozen times .. a loan here is not a loan .it's money never to be seen again . I told the mom I sign the affidavit of support but your kids need to find jobs. The younger brother and sister no problem but the older brother after working here five years has a small amount to bring two sons and two daughters, plus wife. In that time my father-in-law dies and they look at me like I will pay for the funeral. The mom is arranging for A wake, the cards, coffin, etc. the bill is going to run 17,000.00. My mother-in -law claims she has insurance and will pay later. Well here it turns out money up front here too before we proceed. Turn out her insurance was only an ARRP subscription. I call the funeral saying I do not think they have the money. I got the bill down to like 3700.00, 2500.00 just for cremation. I told my wife not a cent for her mom, the other siblings can take care of it. Now that I am retired, it’s all about me.

In that time my father-in-law dies and they look at me like I will pay for the funeral. The mom is arranging for A wake, the cards, coffin, etc. the bill is going to run 17,000.00. My mother-in -law claims she has insurance and will pay later. Well here it turns out money up front here too before we proceed. Turn out her insurance was only an ARRP subscription. I call the funeral saying I do not think they have the money. I got the bill down to like 3700.00, 2500.00 just for cremation. I told my wife not a cent for her mom, the other siblings can take care of it. Now that I am retired, it’s all about me.
