I remember this model and her story very well. It's because of her that people in the U. S. Came to be familiarized with this brutal tradition for young girls. Since she publicly spoke about what happened to her, there are now several documentaries about this. Even a very graphic one where the cameraman gets really close as an older woman circumcise a small girl who is wailing in tortured pain. You can see the blood. I had to stop watching it.

When I was pregnant with our son my husband said he wanted him circumcised like he was. I told him he had no say in it until he could watch a video of what the newborn would be subjected to. He couldn't finish it. Our son is intact. There's only so far you can justify poor decision making with ignorance. Now granted, I had the ability to look for myself and advocate for the good of our baby but those women have to be willing to hear different. The Jewish circumcision is far removed from the Abrahamic circumcision. They were only supposed to cut the foreskin that hangs below the glans. The Jews assumed a covenant that didn't belong to them in the first place and used it as a means of controlling their people. They decided to remove the whole thing so the men couldn't later hide that they'd been circumcised. The whole situation is a mess. Circumcision is so prevalent in Africa because biblical Isrealites are Africans. That's also why the Arab and transatlantic slave trade happened the way it did. They converted to Islam because Islamic law forbids enslaving Muslims. They're Hebrews by blood. Most of them. The semitic line, Shemites, spread across the continent like a wild fire. Anyway, wicked people have used religion as an excuse to control and abuse people for as long as there has been organized religion. That's why it's so important that people start talking and expose these things. Women were not supposed to be cut in the first place. Neither Christian, Jew, or Muslim. It's a desecration of the female body.

This horrific practice is still very common in African countries. The idea behind it is twofold - that having a clitoris makes women sexual beings but most importantly that no man but her husband can have sex with her, and he will know she is a virgin because he will have to cut her open on the wedding night and I mean cut with a knife, because she is stitched together. The health problems and the pain women are left with are beyond belief, and yet it is usually an appointed woman in the community who does this to girls when they are little. It is utterly barbaric. I don't know why so little is known about it in Europe and America.

Its truly not. The practice is called “Fircawni” in somali or Pharaoh if you translate. As all muslims know, The Pharaoh of Eygpt during Moses (Musa)’s time was a truly horrific and despised man in Islam. So clearly a practice named after him is not from Islam.

Islam has merged togheter with traditional life. So therefore it is counted by the believers as something derived from their most important scripture.
Just as egyptian young men kills their Mother if she is remarried after her first man dies. They claim that it is what the quran wants (but there is nothing writen about it in the book). It is the borders between faith and tradition that has been blurred.

In the beginning, property was controlled by the women because they made the kids. Male parentage was ďuscovered later and the battle was on! Property value went to the men and the strangest customs were developed regarding virginity, vaginal mutilation, female segregation and such so paternity could be secured and Property inherited along the masculine line.

But instead of leading a peaceful life, nurturing any loved ones, by the very act of becoming a "model" who parades her skin or facial beauty (often there is pathetically foolish non-committal sexual activity in that industry for money, fame or lust) she proved their point that there is some tendency of female promiscuity and it is disgusting. That stupid practice was wrong, her lifestyle choice after she escaped to the modern sexual degenerate metropolitan West (instead of choosing the lifestyle of wholesome countryside lifestyle of the West) was also wrong. She could have led a life showing the good tendencies of females (being a loving wife / mother / aunt etc., serving etc., being affectionate, caring), thus showing that those dumb practices were not needed but literally by becoming a hoe-like woman she proved their point that the female promiscuity trait can come out in a degenerate environment and it needs to be curbed.
(No sex is not bad. Female genital desire for male is not bad. But WITHIN the beautiful structure of marriage which requires both male and female doing their respective duties for each other till death, being good parents to any children, going through ups and downs of life, continuing a blessed home.)

But I read a story about the same. I remember she couldn’t urinate properly and that it was painful, until she had surgery, and how blissful it was to fully empty her bladder in one go.
Unfortunately, the pleasurable feelings during intimacy can never be replaced. Why would they take this away?
