Who cares if it has a Chevy engine, you could Hemi swap it for all I care. Hot Rodding has no rules save one, Are you happy with it? If so,Then everyone else can go jump in a lake. Congrats man, I am hoping I will bump into you on the Tour. I am in mad scramble mode too to get mine on the road in time.
Just found your channel literally today. I’ve been binge watching this mustang series and I am definitely gonna be watching some of your older videos. Keep up the great content my man!
I wouldn't put an LS in a MooStang but that's me. I am fighting the urge to LS swap my big block '69 Nova. Its just so much lighter with more reliability. In my next 68 Mustang, I'm going to do a healthy small block and do some sort of TransAm style build. Can't wait to see more of your build.
This is all Cale's fault lol it's gonna be fun as hell though, It doesn't matter whats under the hood as long as you love it! Gonna do SICK burnies when it's done and with the LS you'll have that reliablity that the 302 may not have. Hence why we moved from the 302 in the 49' to a 92' 5.8L 351W, it's just a bit newer and more reliable.
Nice work Andrew! I agree it doesnt matter what you put into your mustang. Youre on a budget and i get why you ls swapped it. Looking forward to the finish!
I'm enjoying this project. It stinks you spent five days trying to get it road-ready. This year of Mustang is iconic. You can see the quality of the camera production. Keep the videos coming on a regular intervals.
Hey! Glad you went with a great engine. Same engine that im using in my 67 Mustang if you recall (Blaine, WA guy). Im still building mine but ive learned a few things along the way if you are stuck just let me know. I went with an AJE front crossmember and coilover suspension. Allowed me to keep the rear sump and the front suspension was toast anyways. Best of luck!
I will definitely hit you up one of these days! Im gonna fab mounts ans try to clear a front sump see how it goes I've got all new arms, bushings and steering parts in the shop now.
Just found your channel. The first vid I saw was your first mustang video on felony. First 5 seconds I knew you were legit and putting time into this passion and career. Immediately sub’d and am binging the mustang build. Keep it up man your personality and drive are awesome and helping me build confidence to start a project so thanks!!!!
What are you doing for motor mounts? I was wanting to swap my 67 stang to LS but I’m hitting a road block on the mounts. Dirty dingo is the only place I seem to have found something that may work..
I found some universal plates with bushings and bracket I was just gonna weld something up. I may end up with a different motor still If I do hmu I'll send you what I got
@@RidicULooseAutomotive I’m 61 and I’ve built more than a few hot rods and I recognize how good the LS motor is, if I was still doing it it’d be my go to mill.
Purists are a funny bunch….... As much as I like Windsor engines, I’m pretty confident that LS will be capable of making way more reliable HP than a Windsor could, for a fraction of the cost.
Felony’s name makes sense now, eh?😉 The Purists and their temper tantrums crack me up. I’m still hyped for this build and I’m a diehard Ford guy. Please, please find a way to put some Mopar parts on Felony! 😂😂😂

Not gonna lie…. The engine choice stung a bit but you know I support you. I’ll just blame Cale and his LS mopar for rubbing off on you. Can’t wait to see it on tour.
Everyone has there own vision but putting an LS in a Mustang lowers the value of the car and there is so much you can do with a small block Ford. I can give you several more reasons to keep the small block but in the end it's your car and that is cool.
For someone who's channel name has "American made" in it, you'd think you like someone who's putting all American parts in an all American car, despite the manufacturer of an engine.
So rebuilding a car that had been neglected and off the road for 9 years, doing everything he could to save and use the 302, finds a cheap LS to make good reliable power, and drive it for thousands of miles is absurd?
Ah yes, because rescuing and rebuilding an entire car from basically the ground up, and switching to an LS to put the car back on the road cheaper is how you "ruin" a classic Mustang... An engine is an engine. they all do the same thing just in different styles, made by different manufactures.
$10k to rehone a 302? HOLY SMOKES MAN.. your machine shops 'up dere' are super pricey. All the stuff you gotta do up there makes me thrilled to have been born in the US. No offense. While I don't think I will stuff one of my LS engines in my 67 Cougar, I might stuff one of my Pontiacs in it if the 351C meets an untimely demise. Good luck on making it to HRPT. :)
10k for one that makes any sort of decent power and has aluminum heads yea. Plus new pistons and cleaning/machining will add up quick. A dingle ball and slap it back together woulda worked but it would be a dog for sure. Thanks for watching man, are you going on tour as well?
@@RidicULooseAutomotive I don't do crowds well, its a PTSD thing, and walking is limited since my 2004 deployment, so the tour is much too large for me now. I have other things I am doing which are smaller scale. No Name Nationals is one of them, been having fun with that for a few years. Getting some decent power is easier from a 5.3 than a 302, I'll give ya that. Also having to get everything into Canada parts wise is costly. I don't blame you, but I sure don't envy you with everything you have to put up with and do to build cars. The engines I have built for considerably less than $5k and they power I get from them makes $10k terribly expensive. That much gets me more than 600hp/tq, but I like big engines that don't rev high. Everything is going up though, the ported heads that used to cost me $2500 now cost $3800. Up that much in just three years. The junkyard engine route makes sense as long as you don't have to throw a ton of parts at them. I've never been a fan of putting the modern cammer Fords in Falcon/Comet and Cougar/Mustangs, you don't get that much more power for the huge amount of work it requires. With a pan swap and shorty headers an LS would go quite well I think.
You'll have to answer for this on judgement day... That being said, I am enjoying watching you sin... Keep that content coming!
