I really want to like this machine! My experience with gorgeous looking electronics made in China is that you run far, run fast. I too, became entranced by the MX300 / MX400's aesthetically pleasing looks and miles of bullet-pointed features when they were first released. Yes, GPS is nice and a touch-sensitive color screen is nice and usually found on units over the $1,000 mark, but you've got to ask yourself...how is this possible? If I had to play a hunch I'd say the circuitry has cold solder joints and a mass of jumbled thin wires inside the case, the wand, most likely ABS plastic rather than carbon fiber that would snap if you put any kind of weight on it, and upon opening up the search coil you'd probably see a thin strand of copper wire rather than heavier thicker braided windings. There has to be a trade off or two (or more) with this one. Perhaps one day someone will post a video of this unit or any of the Wild game Innovations EFX MX series disassembled to see what makes it tick or not tick. I still think the unit is absolutely beautiful and I would love to own it just on its looks, but that wouldn't be monetarily wise. I would however, enjoy seeing an actual soil depth test that was in English! Hey, I could be completely wrong about this machine and I sincerely hope someone proves me wrong so I can go buy it! Until then, my humble advice is stick to American Made brands that offer a real warranty such as Fisher, Whites, Teknetics and Mine Lab, among others. I currently run with the White's Treasure Pro, dropped it so many times and it hasn't let me down in 4 years now. The depth and feature set is incredible at the $370 price point. .....Keep Swinging!....-S
I'm doing my research on which detector to buy. I like this unit but also like the Garrett 400. I've been reading blogs and watching videos, I like the GPS feature which doesn't appear on detectors till you get to $2000 range. This is quite a bargain for this unit. Ive seen the coil on this unit as the same as more expensive units also, another bargain. The display is the only one Ive seen that is touch sensitive, In the blogs they say this could be a problem as we are digging and hands get dirty, this will result in scratching the glass, however, I have seen Ipad screen protectors that could be trimmed to fit the screen to prevent the scratching the glass. Situation nulled. I would like to see a few comparisons, how does it perform with others in the same class? Another plus that I see is the cable is inside the tube and not exposed to bush and stick pulls. I like the Trigger Pin Point activation. Is the software upgradable? Brian P
come on guys we need a more in depth look at this machine. a good slow look around it would be good, battery life, dpth tests, field tests, Its got a lot to live upto by todays standards. And believe me i,m talking has an initial admirer of this machin. i think it looks great, i love the idea of the tablet style led touch screen and the gps tagging feature is brilliant to, but i hear that on the 300 model that the disc id is not that good...it recognises everything has a dime.....so one of the other vids tells us. please can you give more facts figures and tests so we can decide wether to perchase or not....even your ebay adds are very vague....ie no pictures close ups or anything, it,s has if you have something to hide...no detail in any of your promos....please guys, from someone who is a really intrested admirer of this detector....please give more fact details and some glossy eye candy pictures.....Thankyou guys.. sorry to rain on your paraid a little....Regards bri ATB & HH
