Using a Unity Axon SL with the Z-Bolt dual function for your lights

  • I absolutely love the Unity Axon dual button switch so I wanted to get one for another rifle. However, the SL (single button) with the surefire connector was out of stock everywhere! and I've heard good things about Z-Bolt so I thought this would be a good time to try them both. So far, I'm really enjoying them! and I really like this Tail Cap, especially for those lights that don't pivot like the Surefire Scout light pro's do. It lets you offset the plug and move it closer into your mount.

Very cool. Just learned about z bolt recently. Will be investigating in some of their stuff soon for sure!

I was a little skeptical but it’s been holding up. Very sturdy too.

The Z-Bolt dual function tailcap is utter garbage. I've had 3 seperate ones, every single one of them has had defects where they will randomly stick on and have to be unscrewed to turn off.
One was completely defective and was permanently on. All 3 were purchased from... And subsequently returned to Z-Bolt.

I’m very sorry for your issues. Not to belittle that, did you have the head to the light screwed all the way on? Genuinely, not trying to be a douche. I had that happen to mine, the head was loose, and for some reason it made the light turn on. As soon as I tightened the head all the way down, perfectly fine. I’m not defending them or saying that’s normal, but it is what happened.

It’s held up great so far, I’ve had it for a little over a year now.

Did the output decrease like with the surefire switch or kept the same brightness as if the tail clicky was installed

I just went and tried both, I don’t see a difference. I have a light meter somewhere, I’ll try to find it and see if it reads anything different between the two
