What a great presenter and storyteller you are, eat your heart out Julia Bradbury.
Thanks so much Richard 😊
What a delightful video and really good to see my Church, All Saints, Glossop.
Thanks so much Tony 😊
Hi Mary, I just happened to come across your video whilst doing a search on TH-cam for Glossop. My Great Grandfather emigrated from Glossop to Rochester, NY. I like seeing videos of where my ancestors came from.
Thank you so much!
Bob
Wonderful! I'm so glad you liked it 😁
Hello again Mary Mansfield, just wanted to comment on such a lovely video upload, I really enjoyed it.
The book you mentioned on the video, I have in my collection and your right, it's a very interesting read.
I myself have an interest in the paranormal and old folk tails.
And can I say, what a lovely part of Derbyshire you live in, I've only been to Glossop once some years ago, but that was the town centre area and I wasn't there very long as I was changing buses there to go to Stockport, but what I saw of the place, I liked.
Never been to Old Glossop myself, it looks like a lovely little village.
Hopefully when all this covid-19 is over with and once I've had my jab and we are all allowed to go out and (PLAY) lol 😂 again, I my take a bus ride out to Glossop town again and have a better look around the place.
You can now get a bus from Sheffield to Glossop direct, which goes via Snake Pass, so it'll save me having to change at different places.
Or I could just go on the train, as that's my favourite mode of transport 😃😃 and change at Manchester.
I must say that it's lovely to see your nice cheerful smile on every video you do, makes the videos worth watching from start to finish.
And I must agree with you Mary, getting mud stuck to your boots isn't pleasent lol 😂 it happens to me sometimes, too. 😂
Anyway hope you both had a lovely Easter?
Looking forward to your next upload soon hopefully.
All the best from.
Mike (Devon Boy).
Ps.
Maybe, yes I know it's a bit out of your area Mary, but a suggestion for a future video, why don't you look into visiting and walking around the grounds of a lovely old ruin called. Sutton Scarsdale Hall. At the moment the old house is closed to the public due to maintance work, but you can still walk around the place and the grounds.
It's a nice peaceful place which I sometimes go myself, and on the other side of the motorway, you can see a place called Bolsover Castle 🏰 which again is another lovely place to visit.
And both places mentioned are both haunted too. 👻
Anyway I'll leave it up to you to decide.
It's not too far away from where I live either, so on a nice day, it's worth just popping up there for a walk in the fresh air and to get away from life's little problems 🙂
Anyway sorry for the long note, hope your still awake when you get to this part? Lol 😂
Sorry I tend to chat a lot at times as you can tell.
Lol 😆🤣
Thanks so much Mike! I really appreciate the wonderful comments 😊
I like listening to Trev from Summit or Nothing channel when he reads out Dartmoor folk legends.
So do I but Trev never walked the PCT *drops mic* Josing of course I enjoy all UK walkers and their stories of making money online.
Beautiful Scenery! Thanks for taking us along. Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it!
Enchanted by Tinkerbell once again. Thanks Mary!
You are so welcome Keith!
another lovely walk around old glossop and folktales thank you mary .
You are more than welcome - thank you!
Hola Tinkerbell 😋 I love living in Hadfield, especially when the weather is fair (not slinging it down basically) The cemetery is about a mile or so up the road from where I live and has the most beautiful views. A local valley for local people 😃 My Gran lived in the house behind the Old Cross which faces the church in Old Glossop (@13:44) So many of my childhood memories inside those walls ❤
Hola Simon 😁 Yes it’s great when the weather is good!
Delightful. Thanks.
Blessed Easter 🙏🦋❤

Yep. Tyranny under the guise of “public health”.
@@gregory_adam5350 Spot on. If it was about health, the gyms would be open instead of McDonalds.
Thank you so much 😊
Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Old Glossop is such a beautiful place and so quiet and peaceful. Straight out of a fairy tale.
Thanks so much Steven!
What lovely Spring flowers. 🌺Your photography elevates them into the magical realm. And the ducks 🦆! I saw the male because of his bright color, but did not see the two females until you got much closer. It is amazing how they completely blended in with their surroundings.
Thank you for a delightful Sunday morning. 👍
So glad you enjoyed it Karen - thank you 😊
Mary what a ingenious idea I really loved it the first story was my favorite though and of course all the videoing the flowers the tulips just beautiful and of course because I work with buildings always find those old buildings in Europe totally fascinating be sure to share some more of the stories with this from the book I think it's a good idea and it's a good way to kill time during lockup so feel free to share more with us as always peace and Keep on rocking The Free world.
Thank you so very much 😊

Mary you are truly amazing, Love the story.
Thank you so much! 😊
Thank you for a lovely video. Would be ideal to provide detail on where these places are on the globe.
Thank you A G!
Great idea for a video. Another may be to describe to us Yanks how hiking works in the UK. You went by a fence post with some sort of notice on it and I was wondering what it said, which lead me to wonder how hiking generally works in the UK. If you have already done some video along this line, apologies.
Thanks so much!
what i lovely idea and perfect for a Easter Sunday evening... a credit to you and your patreons.
Thank you so much!
Great idea! Lovely video.
Thank you! 😊
What a wonderful idea! You are a born storyteller, so to combine stories with a walk around town is brilliant. 👍. It is even better than sitting around a campfire. 😊
Happy Easter, too. 🐣 🐰
Glad you enjoyed it Karen 😊 Thank you very much 💚
I really loved this video! Happy Easter Mary.
Thank you! You too Frankie!

Thanks, Mary. I really enjoyed the film. I do wonder if "old Bill" is laid to rest in the same cemetery? 🙂👍
Good question!
Beautiful Derbyshire 🥰🥰🥰 thank you for the great stories and trip through Glossop! Greetings from Ashbourne! 😊🙏
Thanks so much! 😊
Lovely tales of old Glossop. Keep up the stories. I was overlooking Glossop on a wild camp last Saturday night and was wondering if any interesting folk tales were around still of this area. Now I know. Liked and Subscribed.
Welcome to the channel! Thanks so much for your kind words and hope you had a great wild camp 😁🏕
This was a lot of fun! What a beautiful town and a great way to take us around and show us what it looks like in early spring.
Glad you enjoyed it John!
You live in such a beautiful area Mary. Thank you for sharing it with us. I always love to hear local tales too! x

What an absolutely lovely video!! I had to giggle during the first story even though I didn’t know the punchline yet... your way of telling the story was just so much fun. Beautiful editing as always and choices of music. Gorgeous snow drops (we call them snow bells in Germany 😁) Thank you and very much looking forward to your next video!!!
Thank you so much!!
