    Beautiful shots on the left! Now I understand when someone says it is more difficult to capture good scene with very wide lenses (like the video on the right - too busy, too much of everything). You have good eye!

    Honestly Jimmy, one of the best photography channels out there. I've learnt so much from you already, especially how you get the models to pose (even little things like moving their arm down)!!
    Your channel is perfect for me, from being a sony apsc to the different types of photography we do, definitely one of my most watched👌🏻
    Also, what flash do you use for your even photography? Been thinking about getting one too😁
    Much love bro, keep up the good work🫡

    Some of the best compositions I've seen in a long time! 😍
    The 30mm 1.4 looks super crispy. I have a 18-55mm 2.8 currently, is there much benefit of having a 30mm 1.4 other than night time photography?

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  ปีที่แล้ว

      thank you!
      generally primes offer the following benefits over zooms:
      -sharper (if theyre made for one focal length only its usually better than a lens that has to be good at multiple focal lengths)
      -more / nicer background blur aka bokeh due to lower aperture
      -better in low light

    bro I just bought the exact same prime lenses as yours! But there're so many videos that suggest getting a zoom lens for travel. I'm really not sure whether to keep it or return them and get a sigma 18-50mm. Would really appreciate your advice on which one to go with.

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree with the zoom for travel thing tbh - check out the tamron review video I made. I rly HATE changing lenses when travelling so mostly use my tamron 17-70 zoom
      If you do any night stuff or filming having the prime lenses is super useful. But for daytime photography it’s not as important in my opinion. You’ll just have slightly less blurry backgrounds

    Amazing shots! Also love that you gave a sneak peek in the intro as to what we would see in the video. Here's another question for you: no doubt you've taken hundreds if not thousands of photos on your trips and you've only shown us a few. What do you do with the rest of them?

    Great video! I'm thinking of buying the Sigma 30mm f/1.4, because I like the sharpness and bokeh, and I really like this focal length, but I already have the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 and I don't know whether the 30mm would be redundant. I do a lot of flower photos and street photos, and flexibility over bokeh is important to me. Do you think I'd end up regretting buying it?

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      do you take night time shots too? I do think the F1.4 is noticeably better than F2.8 and had the same worry of redundancy with my tamron but have no regrets so far

    One question. I like the color science of ur gopro. Can this camera lens setup produce that? The dynamic range with ambience.
    PS otherwise I’ll go wid the iPhone 😁

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you can do an iPhone wide set up the colours and resolution should in theory be better than the GoPro because the sensor is better etc
      But if you’re doing anything active eg sports, skiing, biking or whatever the GoPro will have better stabilization which is smth to keep in mind

    Hello bro, nice photos! Did you shoot Jpeg or RAW in this video. I have a6000 with that lens and shadows and contrast is too much harsh during sunny days. 👋

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  ปีที่แล้ว

      always RAWs! you can recover a lot of the shadows if you shoot RAW, you can also lower the highlights by increasing shutter speed or aperture when taking the photo to avoid overexposing your shot

    16mm 1.4 or 30mm 1.4 on APSC for Landscape and Close ups? /: What would you chose?

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe 16 for close ups? I don’t think the 30 would work very well, though neither is a macro lens… you could get the 16 and pair it with those macro rings to allow you to take close up photos using the lens. But for landscapes and travel a zoom lens may be better in my opinion

    • @Psyko_Blood
      @Psyko_Blood 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JimmyShixin Yeah.. I wanna buy a Prime lens and then a zoom lens (Tamron 17-70mm), I think xD and i like close ups from flowers or so o: not macro like, a little Ant portrait :D just close ups from leaves, flowers.. and the "close up" from the sigma 16 or 30 is not too bad o: 25cm close distance
      But I think youre right.. 16 mm and when its too wide for some shots, I can crop a bit /:

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ay thanks! AF works fine, sigma did some software updates (apparently AF struggled a bit at first but now its just like a sony native lens)
      And I'd pick the 30mm cause i like the focal length the most and it seems the most flexible

    Whats made you stick with APS C instead of full frame? I think its awesome btw because it shows you can take creamy pictures without spending loads of £££.
    Also how do you find the low light performance on the A6500?

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I basically didn't think FF offered enough advantages over APSC (mainly price and size of camera and lenses)
      A7iii doesnt have 4k60fps which would have made me reconsider and A7iv does but only in crop mode
      I think ill wait and see if they do a new apsc and get that if they do

    I wanted to sell my 30mm for a tamron 17-70. What do you think bro?

    • @JimmyShixin
      @JimmyShixin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the tamron is solid but i guess it depends how important the following things are to you:
      1. sharpness - primes will always be sharper than zoom lenses
      2. aperture (blurry background and low light performance) - to you take lots of portraits or do night photography?
      Weigh those factors to make your decision, also consider how much selling your sigma would help. Would it be feasible buying the tamron without selling a lens after saving a bit more?
      Having said all that, the tamron is DEFO super useful, its so flexible and versatile and probs my most used lens especially when travelling
