  • Has pedal has a capable of doing what a cloud burst can do, but in my honest opinion it is far from cloud burst or any reverb that offers you big and full when it comes to professional event. But give it a good dial it can be good tool!

    Nice review. I have one of these Mini-U's as well as well. I'm curious but if you plug in the Cloudburst or any Strymon, is the volume level on it also higher vs the Mini-U? One other question: does yours make a "popping" sound when turning it on?

    • @markcalizo
      @markcalizo  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To me volume wise i didnt notice any difference, its just the mini u’s doesnt have a pre delay which is important imo. But the volume on mini u’s is basically how loud you want your reverb and mix is how much you want to affect the signal. The mini U’s design to go In front of your amp that’s why it has a different level. And the strymon is send and return of an amp. But vise versa both great unit. Just the pre delay is missing on mini u’s.

    Hello! Is it possible to get stereo sound from two pedals?

    • @markcalizo
      @markcalizo  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can, but you gotta have a stereo output to split the signal, or if you have a stereo delay thats has 2 output you can use that.

      A good ABY unit can be had for a modest outlay. I have a Mooer. Bought it for 2 guitars into 1 board but use it for 1 guitar into 2 boards. So: guitar - splitter - 2 pedals - 2 amps for stereo.

    • @markcalizo

      Best thing to do with it is to get a switcher, so you can leave the reverb on and use the switcher to turn it on and off

    Good demo, but with a reverb, it's essential to have a clean tone; even slight overdrive masks any artifacts the reverb may be producing.

    Of course it's not a Strymon but for something which is a tenth of the price it can get you not only in the same ballpark but right next to the batsman---that's a cricket reference. Sorry I don't know the baseball equivalent!

      I've tried POPs a few times... but not always... It depends on the power supply, but in the beginning the POP is a result. I opened the pedal and applied contact cleaner to the pedal... The POP was reduced but not removed... On other pedals, a 1M OHM resistor in parallel with the input jack solved this problem, but I haven't been able to try it yet do that. As soon as I get it, if it works I'll post the result here.

  • @moonchard
    @moonchard 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    If you're referring to Strymon, the cloudburst is incomparable. The cloudburst's 'ensemble' feature alone makes it unique. To have the question ‘Can this be cloud burst killer?’ in the title is totally absurd and clickbait likely. Even without its ensemble feature, the cloudburst is vastly superior.

      @@kornkorn78able So, remove the buttons from the pot's, the screw from the footswitch, the screws from the in and outputs. Then take out the four fixing side screws. On the lower side of the circuit, solder a small 1M/0,25w resistor to the hot and eart pins of the output jack, then assemble it.
      When you turn it on, it will pop at first time, but then after switching it on-off a few times the leak voltage will disapear on the resistance and the pedal will be usable (without pops) Use a separate power supply!!
