Hello there Johnathan! I work with ComTec Solutions in Rochester, NY, USA as a Network Administrator. I really like your videos and how they're short and very dense information wise. They're also great videos I could send along to clients after talking about these very topics. I really appreciate you and your teams work, and these video's. Way to go reaching across the pond!
Should just mention fyi: Licence requirements. lad, I love your videos, I am working in IT also and I was brushing up on conditional access for an interview and I clicked on your channel and I am very happy with your contant, I am working in the IT world for 15 years now and I will be using your vids to brush up on bits n pieces going forward. Thanks man.
Thank you. I have a question, email sent between users in the same tenant is NOT encrypted? I was under the impression that email sent between users in the same tenant are already encrypted by default with out having to manually encrypt
Another great video Jonathan. Quick question about encrypted emails. Can you still copy & paste content from an encrypted email? What about screenshots of content? Will it block that or is something else required?
@@bearded365guy Sometime, if you feel like it, a video on how to configure things behind the scenes would be super cool. :D Can I ask you which method you have used? OME, IRM or S/MIME?
I would like to receive client information e.g. registration forms and wondered if there's a way to receive this securely without breaching GDPR? Either by email or Microsoft Forms perhaps? Conscious that by email, the client might not have encryption software.
Does anyone know how to get the encryption certificates and digital signature certificates for Outlook? I get an error messege saying niether can be done because of cert invalid
Hi my name is Senyoll I am from India I am working as IT support. We recently switch from Google to Microsoft 365. I need your help in the mail encryption.
I do not see the ENCRYPT option in OWA presented in the same way, and then the only MESSAGE option is an S/MIME encrypt which then asks about certificates. Can you provide some more information about setting up OWA to allow encryption in the manner you are demonstrating?
I think you’ll need to upgrade your license learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/ome-faq?view=o365-worldwide Azure information Protection Plan 1 Add that license
@@bearded365guy - According to that link, adding a Azure Information Protection Plan 1 license for $2 a month adds the encryption capability. I will add that and try again and report back to you.
OK. Adding that license works, however there are several steps needed to update the 365 tenant to enable the feature. You might want to do an expanded video on this since this feature does not seem to be enabled by default. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/information-protection/activate-service#how-to-activate-or-confirm-the-status-of-the-protection-service

so it would be nice if you explained HOW to enable encryption in O365 so outlook users have the option.

Hi Johnathan. Do you have a video on how to setup the encryption for OWA?
Not yet. I think it should be in OWA by default though, can’t you see it?
Your videos are fantastic. No rambling and always useful info presented in a simple and direct way

love you content man, I'm a technical trainer myself at my organization, you helped me understand quite a lot. thank you for the knowledge shared.
Is it possible to print screen the email when the no forwarding and printing is enabled ?
Thanks, the forwarding thing is weird because you could just screenshot the message or something if need be.
What licenses need to be used in order to get this feature? (I know E5 would work, but anything below that)
Yes, Business Premium
Another great video Jonathan. Quick question about encrypted emails. Can you still copy & paste content from an encrypted email? What about screenshots of content? Will it block that or is something else required?
Encryption doesn't want to protect the data from misusing by the reciever, it protects data on the way to the reciever.
@@neo778 What is the purpose of do not forward then? At that point the email has already arrived securely.
@@giza182 A great question!
I am guessing this doesn't work on the Business Basic License?
Hello Jonathan! Nice video.
Is it true that this option is only available if you buy the Microsoft 365 E3 license?
No, Business Premium has it

In your examples instead of Boris Jhonson you may use Rishi Sunak 😆
Thank you so much
How do you enable this as an administrator of Business Premium licenses, because it is not visible to users otherwise?
It’s not showing in Outlook?
@@bearded365guy Correct, there is no option in either Web Outlook or Desktop Outlook

Yes, using Microsoft forms could be an option or securely sharing within Onedrive too.

Do you have the right license?
I don't have the encrypt box under options....
What license have you got?
I think those labels doesn’t exist anymore. We have to create them in compliance center labels
There is no option to encrypt in Outlook unless you have enterprise plans. We have to use webmail to encrypt.
