When it comes to the 240Z and "a mouthful of rust" one must embrace the suck. Or more importantly- Embrace The Rust... Brad! Keep up the good work and I am glad your back.
Yaaaaas so hyped that you're back. I assumed you got rich off NFTs and didn't need TH-cam anymore 😂 Always enjoyed your videos and excited to see this project going again, maybe some editor notes from Hope and some clips of the animals y'all rescued!
So I found your page earlier yesterday cause of the Datsun build like the content I've already binged watched the whole Datsun series and the Subaru series so far that Datsun is literally my dream car maybe one day in life but please do a rb swap in the Datsun and please keep putting out the content
Woohoo! Glad your back! Can’t wait to see the progress. I need to inspiration to get back to work myself. The “piece of garbage” is a smog pump for the Z. I had one and chucked it as well😂
Brad, I'm happy that you're back on the 240z. I found your channel when I picked up my 280z last fall when I was looking for inspiration/info. I almost copied your rollover jig but ended up fabricating a rotisserie. Check out my videos of you want a heads up on some of these rust repairs you have to do. I've done all of the areas you pointed out on your 240z so it could be helpful to you. Can't wait to see more!
also have you thought about 3d scanning the 240z and just getting parts made for you? like complete replacement parts? you already have the fusion 360 skills
hey bro i watched one of your videos maybe like a year ago, you were using 3d max and fusion 360 doing a fender on a Nissan. do you still use these? and i see your alot more active on Instagram then on here. would love to see different kind of content like the video i mentioned along with a series like video. there is something about your youtube workflow and you car designs that just have very good quality to it
I have literally priced out 4 swaps and still not 100% certain on one 😫😂. LS is the cheapest starting price and cheapest to modify down the road too, but we’ll see. I’d really love to have a straight 6 or a k20 with a big ass turbo tho 😫
@@BradBuilds Yeah, it is hard to beat an LS for cost power and reliability....a big turbo k20 would be really cool too. I am swapping in a vq35hr into my S30..It has been pretty cheap so far.
With filming, a couple days off and on. I also haven’t filmed in a while and was using a new camera so there was some issues to dial in. But this car was stripped down in the first season, that took WAY longer since I was trying to preserve parts thinking I was doing a full blown restoration lol
@@BradBuilds no problem! I bought a 280 with front end damage, came with a 240 parts car. was going to use the front clip but I found a roller for 1500 so I said fuck it and bought that instead! Now I got 2 parts cars and a 280 with a lot of rust repair 😂
The diffuser thought reminds me of starroad/ some BRE racecars. BUT BUT BUT DO NOT SAND BLAST THE CAR, SODA BLAST IT. Ive done that before and it warped the metal pretty bad since the sand get too hot, soda blasting is much cooler and has a lower chance of warping the thin metal on Zs
You might be able to get away with sand blasting since its on the engine bay which is pretty thick metal, and the interior is usually not TOO rusted, but just be weary of warping
If he was doing large flat panels I would say don’t but he is doing areas with lots of bends and bracing. Plus areas that won’t see anything but carpet over them. He’ll be fine. The only thing I would caution is too little air compressor. Sand/media blasting takes a ton of air. I have a 5hp 80gallon 2 stage compressor and it does ok on small stuff. And it will take wayyyyyyyyy more sand than you think especially since you won’t be collecting and reusing it. Just my 2 cents. Not trying to nay say, only help as I too am happy to see your triumphant return!
Hello any experts here, i wanted to learn how to modify and design my own car .So what would be your suggestion to from where to start and what are the things i will require . And any suggestion will be more appreciated.
I’m kinda sad you’re not just restoring it, as it’s a ‘71. I restored one (‘73) with only a few changes & am in the process of doing a resto-mod on my 2nd Z, a ‘72. I just hope your ends up tastefully done. I’m afraid that your viewers will vote for the most extreme Z that you can possibly build. In the end you can do what you want, it’s your car.
you shouldn’t spec it for us. you’re the designer 😹 I think you should design it in increasingly crazy levels and then we pick the level of craziness rather than us picking which part

So happy you're back dude, keep this build alive
Excited for the build! Widebody Brad's back 🥶

I'm holding you to that, no backsies.
Someone get this man a socket organizer 😅
😭😭
Day one of counting the days I crave the next episode (have been waiting way longer, but let's start counting)
Day two
Hahaha. Sorry this month was crazy. I have about 1/5 of the rust fixed and should get the rest done this week and hopefully new upload by next week 👌
I just discovered your channel today, and I binge-watched all 17 episodes in one go 😄

Hahah thanks. Glad to be back!
Can’t wait to see more videos. Currently fully stripped and working on metal on my 280z.
Right now I'm trying to build the cleanest most well done too it is a possible it will be sweet to watch yours being worked and steal some ideas
Happy to see you back man great work keeping this build alive 🫡

Well that makes a lot of sense. Garbage it is then 😂. For parts dm me on Instagram. Link should be in my bio here
Welcome back! Looking forward to season 2!

Awesome! I’ll check it out and take some notes, thank you!
Keep up the progress ❤❤❤ here for the ride

Glad you’re back !
Were you selling one of the Z’s recent I could have swore that I saw your shop on Facebook marketplace and thought it looked awesome
He's back!
Absolutely Sweet

Hey Brad were you the one who made the dodge ram nitro with the wide body kit? I can't find a video of it anywhere
Finally a new video 😂❤
sometimes it feels like a push/pull race against time with restoration
When a GR86 video???? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Looks exiting!!
What is that color called? Or paint code. Looks like a butterscotch
I waited 1213 Days 🎉 Finally 💪🏻
Master of patience. I would have unsubscribed by now 😂
You seem like you will have a blast. Use a tarp?
Yeah I’m planning to do the blasting outside. Hopefully won’t make too much of a mess
How do we contact you for anything parts related?
yay!!!
Yesssss Braddddddd
Good stuff, Nice shop! What motor are you thinking?

How long did it take to get the car stripped down to the way it was at the end of the video?

I got a front clip in New Mexico. I won’t charge and arm and a leg for it
I just commissioned the tubular front, and it was just finished yesterday. Wild timing lmao, I really appreciate the offer though!

I swear Datsuns are cursed. You buy one and all of a sudden you blink and theres 3 in your driveway 🤣
@@BradBuilds so true 😂😂😂 third Z is the charm they say

I appreciate the warnings!! Soda is also way easier to clean up. I’ll make sure to do some test spots too 🙏

So, ah ... when's the next video man?
I’ve been doing shorts on the sema build, I’ll have another full length video on the Datsun out after sema is done 🤝
Let's goooooooooo

I will be designing all the parts, don’t worry! Voting will mostly be on picking different final iterations of designs.
Just put OEM fender flares on it. Don't ruin it.
Tell me you're new to the channel without telling me you're new to the channel.
@@violentvinyl 240z is automotive art. There will never be anything like it again. Home made extra wide fenders are like drawing moustache on mona lisa.
I look at it like this, my Datsun is a blank canvas and whatever I end up doing to it is my art. It’s not going to be for everyone and I accept that.
And now? Haha😢
$1500 is a rip off. You should get the whole car blasted for that much. I restore classics. We get the cars blasted for 1200
your plan for this car makes me sad. it's anathema to the original design intent.
