Congratulations! I got the email just three days ago after sending in my last four projects that I have completed and passed the course. I'm waiting for my graduation packet.
Congratulations... Few questions if you don't mind. Which course did you take? Did you pay all up front to be able to have all the projects at the same time? Looks like you completed the course in about six months, how much time a week were you putting in to get it done in that timeframe?
I took the Advanced Gunsmithing course and I paid for everything up front so I had access to all the materials from the beginning. The projects are delivered as you complete your tests online. They didn’t all come at once. They have added another level above the one I took now. With that course, you will build either a 1911, an AR, or a muzzle loader. As for how much time, when I first started the course, I was doing one unit a week. I would spend an hour or so each night reading the material and doing the chapter tests and then take the unit test over the weekend. I would take the unit test in the book and then transfer my answers to the online test. The longer units took longer. I had to take a break from the course as I was going through it because I had some other things I had to do. If you spend 2-3 hours a week working on the course, you can get through it fairly quickly. Time spent on the projects would be in addition to that. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
The diploma says you have graduated from a gunsmithing course. It gives you the basics to get started but you should still seek more training. I have not taken any of AGI’s courses so I do not have an answer for the question of comparing the two.
Congrats!
Thanks!
Great series, thanks for taking the time to share this.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Congrates. I graduated there too this year.
Thanks. Congratulations to you as well.
Talking about American Gunsmithing Instutute, are you buying the Video courses/classes on specific guns or did you enrolled on the advanced course?
I just bought some of the specific courses, but I have not had a chance to go through them.

Thanks for sharing! Does the diploma make you a certified gunsmith? Would you recommend this school say over AGI? Thank you. PA Reloader
