The thing that annoys me is they put them in these smelly, cold, and creepy and then the end result couldve been done in a studio.
It's because they know all the pictures woul've been FLAWLESS if they shot in a studio and just photoshopped the end result.

@@sofiemorena7781 I mean they blur and edit the background so it's either irrelevant or looks fake anyway. So if you're going to treat the photo so that you can't see its taken on ice or in garbage then why make the model tolerate those things. If the photo needed those elements to look good in the end you may justify it.
Oh this annoys me too! They put them in some dangerous places and then they basically remove the background or make it look really odd anyway.
Yea but like I'm prerty sure it's for the reality show aspect. They don't care about the photos, the models or improving their skills. All they want is to make people watch the show, how? By making up these stupid competitions and challenges

My roommate drives a garbage truck and spent a week in the hospital with an infection in his leg. It was super dangerous and scary.

Oh but when you are a model, you need to do dangerous stuff even if you don't want to. I know Tyra herself once did a shoot somewhere where if she got suddenly stabbed by a passerby, she could have died, but she endured, because that's what it takes to be a good model

Normally I agree that judges' takes are weird at best, but she was being negative in a very unnecessary way. I see it as very toxic behavior when people emotionally exhaust you with their complaining.

That one judge who made the comment "there's no excuse to miss a go-see" didn't sit right with me, considering in a previous season a model missed a go-see because she was sexually assaulted on the streets of Paris in broad daylight. I'd say the shock and aftermath of a traumatic experience is a pretty damn good reason to miss one. I know that judge is probably not aware of the incident but it's just a bad look on the show's part when it has that kind of history.

@@melodia2772 It was the first season and I think the episode is called The Girl Who Dealt With A Pervert. The woman goes on to win the competition. But during that episode a random man really did put his hand up her leg and goes under her skirt while she was standing on the Paris street trying to read her map. They filmed it along with interview footage of her explaining how rattled she was and how it was likely the cause of her missing the go see. In this interview she's visibly distressed. Then as far as I know, it's never mentioned again. No one is shown checking to see if she's ok. No assurance is given that the authorities were received the footage and were looking into it. Just nothing.
I'm pretty sure it was adrienne in the first season...watching it back was really shocking, they show the assault but it's never brought up again the rest of the episode (if I'm remembering right)
@@mmfreak666 Yeah. I don't think they ever address it outside of just the initial comments from Adrienne. It's so downright bizarre that the producers seem to think it was such a non issue because it never gets brought up again. Shocking and completely dumbfounding.

out of all the photos, imo, her picture was the weakest she was up against the strongest top 4 in ANTM history for me
It's all planned anyway. Very often you can tell that they 100% did not pick the models best shot. The whole narrative is already planned.

In Molly’s ANTM chat with Oliver Twixt she mentioned that during this shoot it smelled awful (as you can imagine), and the entire crew had things to place under their noses to block the smell, but none of the girls were allowed to have them
They were really going out of their way to be nasty to the girls for reality tv purposes 😡

While the concept is interesting and I love the use of unconventional materials for the outfits, the setting is neither safe nor sanitary. They could get hurt by an unseen item in the garbage and they could have gotten extremely sick.

The camera Nigel is using is a Sony A900 camera body with vertical grip along with a Sony Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 24-70mm f2.8 lens. Both were released in 2008.

The dresses they were wearing were stunning and I really liked the idea of this photoshoot. But I hated how photoshopped the pictures looked and that they turned that beautiful day light into a fake looking night sky.
And I love the mini megaphone, so funny.
My best friend/roommate drives a garbage truck. And he has to climb inside the truck all the time every day and gets garbage juice (as he calls it) all over him. He got an infection in his leg recently, we think from his job (all sorts of hazardous waste, as you can imagine) and last month spent a week in the hospital because of it. No way would he recommend a photo shoot like this, he knows too well what the landfills are like.
Honestly, this would've been a great background for a post-apocolyptic shoot. The dresses looked really good with the background. But the editing killed it for me. But with the eco theme... Eh they didn't need the garbage.
A heavily wooded park or a beach would have worked well
@@Nikki-jn3ud maybe they chose the landfill for shock value. Great tactic to emphasize that people aren't as caring to the environment I guess. But then again, they edited the backgrounds so the impact kinda got lost anway.

Just wanna add something about the go-sees. Jaclyn and Brittani were only able to make it to two go-sees most likely because they are 1 unfamiliar with the Los Angeles area, 2 from a very small town and doesn't have experience using a map. Whereas Alexandria who is from LA obviously made it to all of them because she already knows how to get around.. I'm assuming when you're signed to a local modelling agency they don't drop you in a random state and make you show up for a casting 30 mins beforehand? Might be wrong but that's my assumption.
Just a little correction, Alexandria did not make it to Shakar's Couture go see because of the time limit.

Can you react to cycle 18 ep 3 "cat dealey"? The models had to do their own hair, makeup, and create their own photoshoot concept. Also a HUGE argument at panel, one of the models vs one of the judges.
I loved the subtitle "seagull crying" right after the model said she hated them. Idk it was just funny, like a reaction from the birds
I wish they didn’t photoshop the sky to be so dark the birds look more like stars and I thought the birds were going to be the coolest part (aside from the dresses) of the photos.
Thank you sooooooo much for doing this one! I was totally on the girls side who was annoyed by it and “complaining” according to them. She had every right and they were just mad because she said what they were thinking. I’m soooo glad Jay got shitted on and not the girls, those birds knew what they were doing.
I honestly wish they wouldn’t touch the picture- show us them in the originals then you can show the finished edit. Is it a model competition or is it a photography competition 👀

Lol I gotta say: the idea of “eco friendly” haute couture garments, which are literally only produced for one shoot or a gala or something, is very funny to me 🧐 I know they say it’s recycled material but this could’ve just been used for a multi use, not single use purpose ... like you can make normal clothes out of that, or literally anything else made from fabric but another throw away piece 😅

If only Koreas Next Top Model have English Subtitles, it will blow you away. The Photoshoots are well thought out and they take it very seriously in contrast to the gimmicky ANTM had been. You might wanna check out the Photoshoots because some of them are Fashion Magazine Worthy

She won a car in a competition and Britanni said, in front of the whole team that’s she didn’t deserve it because she wasn’t a good person and when she was called for it at panel she had a full blown panic attack cause she believed to be a victim. It was crazy, she was a good model, but her personality was very naaaasty at times
no to mention she threw a hell of a tantrum because she just needed to let everyone see how awfull the other girl was,, she just wanted for everybody to hate that girl as much as she did and that was incredibly toxic.

I get the point that the show is trying to make: the dresses were made out of trash, so how 'bout a photo shoot in a landfill? But seriously though, if I was a fashion designer who made beautiful, long, flowing dresses that I spent months of blood, sweat, and tears on creating, the LAST thing I'd want is for one of my precious garments to possibly be soiled by the nastiness of a landfill.. even if they were technically made out of trash!
It seems to make more sense to have a contrast. Dresses made out of trash...environment/green driven background. But that's too boring for TV, I guess 🤷🏻♀️
Jessica: "Oh that dress! Can I order that online? Can I just stroll up to like a thanksgiving dinner wearing this?" Girl same. I love these gowns. They make me want to run down a long corridor in a castle with the dress flowing behind me.
I like the contrast of the messiness of the landfill & the glamour & sleekness of the outfits but I do not like how the background looks. It looks fake to me. I'm going, to be honest, I know absolutely nothing about photoshop but I kinda feel like they could've gone to the landfill & got some pictures of it & then made the girls pose in front of a green screen with some trash surrounding them so it looks like they were actually there & then put in the landfill background during the editing process. I could be completely wrong but it might've produced around the same quality because to me, it doesn't look like they are actually on location. Maybe that's due to whoever the editor of the photos were (again I know nothing about photoshop) but it just kinda looks like they are standing in front of a picture. Now that being said, I do think that would possibly make a lot of the models' pictures look very similar and not a lot of movement. I really enjoyed the variety of the settings with Kasia leaning against the wood pallet, Jaclyn with the heavy machinery on top of the mountain of trash, Hannah with the multiple machines in the back, etc, and I think it might not have been as well-executed regarding having different poses if they did do the green screen. The models did great, but the background is garbage (no pun intended). If I am wrong on the fact that green screening the background in would create a similar look & quality that they have, please tell me. I'm happy to learn.
Edit: Brittani's background looks like she was actually on location to me. I don't know what it is about the rest of the girl's photo's that like they weren't.
I felt exactly the same, dissapointing and surprising to see how bad the pictures ended up looking like (except for the dresses and the girls doing a good job). It was such a beautiful natural light, so I don't understand why the pictures turned upp looking like that, so fake and overly photoshopped, like the girls are not even there. My quess is Nigel sucks at taking pictures or something lol or maybe the editor sucks.

Molly confirmed in Oliver's interview I think that Mr Jay wanted to give them something to put on their noses to cover up the smell of the surroundings but the producers told Mr Jay/Nigel not to give the girls and that they should endure the smell of the landfill. All for the drama and sht 🙄

@@abizek9342 Brittany yelled at Alexandria (she won the challenge) saying she shouldn't have won cause shes not a good role model (that's what the challenge was about). And Nigel and the client (Ford) heard it. Nigel said that you cant do that at a job and that its unprofessional.

a bizek long story short Alexandria (the villain of the season) won the challenge where she would appear in a cancer awareness campaign and won a brand new car. The other girls were jealous and mad and Brittani started yelling at her and saying mean things in the middle of the photoshoot in front of Nigel. At panel, Nigel mentioned her attitude and the judges confronted her. Tyra got very mad and Brittani had a panic attack and left panel. Tyra even mentioned that she was outvoted by the judges and, if it depended on her, she would have sent her home. That episode is just too much. There are videos of that panel on youtube.
Imagine how good the models could of been if they were given literally any info on how to model before starting or even during the show. I would love a show that was more like modeling school reality show. That'd be super interesting.
The issue with these photos is that I'm barely seeing the dresses. I wish they didn't photoshop the sky to be darker. And I do agree, a cropped version is so much better than a zoomed out one.
You should react to the shoot from cycle 14 episode 4! They made the girls wear contacts that basically made them blind, which was totally unnecessary. The results were pretty cool though...

Definity, I remember quiet well that for a shoot they pressured (even the underage) girls to do a nude photoshoot.
It's tough because of copyright claims ;-; and those may lead to strikes against my channel....one of my reaction videos on ANTM got copyright claimed by CBS - so I ended up removing it. I have to make sure it won't be claimed before I do a whole episode on a new series like the face, other versions of top model. But I am going to try because I really want to! thanks for the suggestion ^_^

Really quit often we see some gorgeous poses on camera and what they show us supposedly "the best" photo of them they often disappoint. And te forst picture background looked very photoshoped even for an untrained eye. They looked like the background was just pasted there, not like they were there. They went to the location only to make it seem like they weren't even there.

The drama was about the blonde girl Alexandria knocked out the photoshoot and won a car. And the girl with the short black Bob head yelled in front of the professionals and the girls basically saying Alexandria doesn't deserve to win because no one in the house likes her and she's rude to other people.
I was actually upset that Molly stayed over Jaclyn. Considering Jaclyn had best photo the week before and booked the 2 go-sees that she did make it to, while Molly didn't really get any bookings and she went to 4, also with this being Molly's second appearance in the bottom 2, and Jaclyn's first appearance. Call me salty I guess. Lol.

My husband worked in a landfill for a couple of years and had needles stuck in the bottom of his boots a couple times. The stuff that he would come across was insane and so dangerous and they just threw the girls out there 😂

It would be super nice if you reacted to go-sees challenges too! the girls need to get to as many go-sees as they can in a few hours!
I remember when Christian Siriano took over for Tim on Project Runway I was super worried about him and right away his feedback was EXTREMELY hard to follow. I'm positive it made sense to him but he wasn't communicating where the issues were, what was good, what was bad about a look, etc. HOWEVER he figured it out right away. Just watched Marni do a couple of critiques and he was good to go, saw exactly what the designers needed from him. So either Tim is a great mentor and helped that along, or Jay really is that dumb and I think we know which it is.
I actually really liked this shoot and the goal behind it. Michael's such an awesome designer.

@@Nikki-jn3ud nope, that was cycle 7 with the freezing cold pool. There was one in cycle 2 with an entire tank of water that they had to completely submerge themselves in and pose underwater.
I get that they were trying to be “edgy” and “different” but how about health and safety??!!! The germs, etc. did they even keep the girls and staff safe?

I'm Swedish, and we don't really have landfills here, we are hardcore at separating different types of trash and reusing it. The rest is burnt to create heat and electricity. We even import trash from other countries to keep up the consumption.
That sounds great, read some countries dump their trash in poorer countries so they can deal with it instead, that's nasty.
@@teijaflink2226 Yeah that's messed up, i mean why not use it, it's pretty much a free resource and never ending to burn. Of course it has to be done in the right facilities so they don't spew out toxic gasses and stuff. But that's not really a huge issue.

For once I can actually agree that Molly's complaining was a bit much. No one wants to be around someone who is always complaining. It kills the vibe.

Yes, at least in how she was portrayed during the season. She was pretty moody and often had a negative energy as I remember. Obviously it could be the editing, but still.
