I actually had one of those a few years ago. Traded it away because of the ammo... one of those things where you wish you did not get rid of it. Ironically I believe someone told me he saw it in a used case at a local shop for a pretty penny.
I enjoy seeing nice metal guns. Especially blue ones.Anything with a few years on it. Plastic on back strap doesn’t seem to quite fit what they were doing without that gun but that’s how they did it. Interesting either way. Turned on the notifications bell. Haven’t seen a video of yours come up in well over a year. See if it helps. Thx for sharing. & gunbroker…haven’t been on that site, even to just look for a long time. Take care.
I thought I was a gun guy, but I'm unfamiliar with this beautiful firearm. I'm going to begin my search for one these for my collection. My CZ 97B has a Briley spherical bushing.
I remember 20 years or so ago, reading about this gun in a magazine. The article highlighted Smith and Wesson’s controversy with the 1911…15 years later I was at a Sheriff’s Office where I was issued a S&W 1911. I don’t remember the specifics of the article, but always found it ironic.
A beautiful beast. I just love the look of these old guns. Sad to see that "inverted idiot scratch" on the slide though. Speaking of witch, beautiful plum color in that light as well.
Yes that is an idiot scratch! I can see how the previous owner did that. Back in the day with my 952 I almost did the same thing because it is difficult to put the slide stop back in. I would say to the unfamiliar this gun is difficult to take down and put back together because of all the little odd nuances.
Its unfortunate S&W quality is hit or miss today. I guess it is the workforce as someone told me. A lot of the workers are truly not gun people and well it is a job and apparently a mundane job for some... I should do a vid on this topic.
@@TheOl1911 that’s so true today’s workers. Most of them aren’t gunsmiths their assemblers, who work on a piece work basis the faster you get them out the door, the more money, the assembler makes said.
I know this is the year of the revolver. Question, If you had the desire to purchase another Hackathorn Special would you? I am considering the first Wilson purchase...Or, .Ed Brown, Or, Les Baer.
Nice firearm, but I wouldn't be too sure about it being better than the P210 Target. If you want the real queen of the target guns, you are looking for an original Smith and Wesson model 52. The 952 was always a knock off of that gun. Nothing wrong with copies, but the craftsmanship prize easily goes to the model 52.
The 52 is a different animal as it is chambered in 38 special and made with old world hand fitting techniques. The 952 employs different and newer manufacturing methods but there is still a considerable amount of hand fitting in it. Compared to the SIG P210 he is right there is a noticeable increase in built quality over the SIG. I will say the P210 is a better shooting single stack 9mm target pistol but not better made. I have both and would compare them to a semi/full custom 1911 in terms of built quality and attention to detail.
That's a beautiful gun. The case and everything is great, too. I can appreciate it, and I do.
Thanks for showing us.
👍🏼👍🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🎯🎯🇺🇸
My brother had a 52-2 .38 Special Wadcutter with the adjustable bushing, thanks for the video.

I want one of these bad. I saw one on GB and slept on it. It was gone the next morning.
Nice find. I was lucky to find a 5906 PPC which is similar but a double stack. Really accurate pistol.
That’s a beautiful pistol!

Very nice! It's been a minute since I've seen one of these. I miss those PC cases, too.
yeah me too! I remember when their PC guns came in this case back in the early 00's.

She’s beautiful ❤
That’s a beautiful handgun that must’ve been made before there quality control went into the pooper

Is it DA/SA or SA only?
SA only
