For anyone who's interested: the reference images were actually taken at the D23 (Disney) convention in Anaheim in summer of 2019. The costumes were being showcased as part of the Disney+ promotional booth in the exhibit hall. Additionally, as part of the loose theming of the major exhibits of the convention, they also had dozens of costumes from the MCU, Broadway, and so on, meaning that there should be hundreds of reference photos for costumes associated with this specific convention if you ever need it.😄
@@KamuiCosplay Lockdown? What lockdown? Come back to NZ in the future. We have no lockdowns here (touch wood) Update: As of Wednesday 12th August we've gone into Level 3 lockdown again for 12 days. Bah!
Ordered your blueprint and shrunk it down a bit for a 6.5 year old for Christmas! Your video was perfect and so is your rifle!!! Just LOVE it! My grandson will be in heaven! Thank you!
Svetvana: "I'm using simple material so you can follow along and craft your own mandalorian rifle!" Me who never had my hands on Eva foam on my entire life: 👁️👄👁️
Do it! EVA foam is actually pretty common. Ever seen those puzzle piece floor mats? Those are EVA foam, and are what most cosplayers use as their main source of foam. It's super easy to work with.
@@Eiterra Sadly we don't even have that as a common thing near me, and the one store that sells it locally has prices that are like 4-5x higher than buying it online D:
This came out awesome!! But the very best part (besides Benny’s amazing paint job) was that you showed your mistakes. All this time I thought you guys were from a different planet with your amazing creations! But now I know you’re human like the rest of us! ❤️
What a team! It was looking good in unfinished foam,... then the black base coats went on, and I thought, 'OK this is going to be good' then the Benny got to work, and it became even better. I should get back into making,... (looks at maker table which needs a good tidying,....),.....
In your opinion 'Not Perfect' My opinion is that is one amazing finished product. You two are the best and I love watching your videos and learning new things. You guys make it look so easy.
This is kind of a strange suggestion, but would you be interested in making a video of just you both working, maybe an hour long? Like if you want to see that too, so they can see this.
I know you are a perfectionist so you don't feel like it was perfect but I think it is. You guys nailed it and did an amazing job. You are both very talented. Great work!
I love that you showed how your craft went wrong and you rebuild it. As a beginner I make mistakes and when you see how everything perfect in tutorial it makes you feel awful. Great video as always
I love you not only for your amazing works but also for including the materials you used on the video description, I've been looking for a good airbrush set for a while.
I love you guys haha. I recently got a promotion to run my own general store, so now I'll have more money to buy your books and actually follow your crafts.
Just a thought to share, try scoring a wire brush against the foam stock for a physical wood texture? Wood is organic and imperfect and does not need smoothing out. Just food for thought. Still amazing work you two (and the doggies), keep up the positive energy :D
I really love how your videos show your mistakes and having to redo things, it is so nice to see that it isn't always a smooth process along the way. :)
Looks great! I would just recommend to not use airbrush primer (especially Vallejo or any other acrylic) for such a large project. I recommend using spray cans, best primer would be mr.surfacer from mr.hobby but citadel cans or army painter ones are good too.
Well I did it. I made one. Now...mine is to yours as my 4-year old son’s Spiderman costume is to Endgame, but given you are an absolute professional and I am a noob, I’ll take it. It actually turned out pretty good, I am proud of my first attempt at making a cool prop like this. Thanks for your amazing tutorial Svetlana and Benni! Cheers from Canada. 🇨🇦
Great video, as always. Not only do you make outstanding props and beautifully filmed/edited tutorials, but your adorable personalities keep us interested and entertained. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Pro tip: Use a soldering tool with a blade attachment to cut foam, the heated blade cuts through foam like butter and the heat seals the foam as you go. In addition you don't need to keep replacing the blade on your box cutter. Hope this helps someone. Have fun cosplaying!
I love how your and Jessica's Video have completely different vibes when it comes to cosplaying and you still shout each other out and support each other
Great video Svetlana. I have built my own Mando costume from EVA and have used your techniques to improve my foam work so thank you. I am going to add my costume to my channel at some point as i made it up as I went along. I need the gun for Halloween so I think i have run out of time! Thanks for your great inspirational videos!
I’ve found it difficult to find flexi filler in the states, so for anyone in the us a good alternative is rapid fill by prop monkey studio! They also have a finer finish that doesn’t fill in gaps as well, but gives a great sandable finish called fine finish. Loved the video!
Great job. I am so new to this. But just having this the Mandlorian rifle. I mean. The lite weight! Awesome paint job! You just know what this is in cosplaying🤩. I would be so grateful just having this! Great job! I am going to attempt this. I haven’t touched any projects in over 10 years and I am a perfectionist! Such a bad combo! But after you start the challenge is on👍👍 and you just want to get better! Having a good movie on it music she your cresting is awesome 🤩. Thank you for the motivation 🙏🏽 you guys ROCK!!!!😍
This is just incredible! Just watched the other video on how he made the blueprint, and now I found this one of you making it and I'm so happy I watched it. Fantastic work! I feel like doing a prop myself
I appreciate your attention to detail and you did an amazing job! My only criticism is that the rifle barrel doesn't seem to have an exit for the projectiles it fires...
I am currently working on the 3D printed rifle and filling it with lots of fun electronic things, like leds and speakers. I really like the paintjob you did on the rifle.
The con replica's muzzle probably looks like that to simulate what it'd look like after being heated repeatedly by the plasma arcs, like what you did, but over the entire thing. Or at least, that's similar to what steel looks like when you heat it up. Blacksmiths call those temper colors, if anyone wants to look into it further.
I loved this video because You showed us that even an expert like you on cosplay, can make mistakes and I really apreciate that, because sometimes we need to see things like that, or at least me^^ So thank you for this awesome project !!
I got bought your flat-chest female armour so I'm gonna try make The Armourer from The Mandalorian! Luckily enough her tool look pretty simple, but if you wanna do something of hers (maybe the armoured skirt since that's a bit different?) I'd be super excited. Or maybe Mando's jetpack? As it is, I love the rifle!
I don't cosplay but I like watching your videos because your work is just soooo cool. Kudos to your attention to detail on the rifle and your relentless pursuit of making it exactly like in the show. And remember, "this is the way" 😆
I’m so going to make one of these since I’m stuck at home and not really doing that much. Btw this is amazing and are you guys also going to possibly do the armor that Mando wears
Thank you sooooo much for making this! I'm going to make one for my friend for Christmas as he's a huge Mando fan and we watch it together every Friday. If I get it right, he'll love it!!
You're so cool dude! I'm making a Link cosplay and your tutorials are SUPER helpful! (I'm also hoping to buy your books for like christmas or summ) Just wanted to say that now, so maybe You'll see it lmao I love you guys ❤️
Svetlana: "This was quite a fun little project."
me: "little"...........flips table... walks away.
I mean have you seen my last video xD
"it took three days to make" _THREE DAYS?!?_

A missed opportunity!!!
I'm calling PETA so they can ruin everything.
😂
20:06 Me: woww that looks so good
Svetlana: "It turned out like crap"
Me: oh
Me: concerned baby Yoda face
For real, I thought exactly like that and when she said "it turned out like crap", I sulked lmao
I'm working on this rifle! Your pattern was so helpful!
Bennie did an awesome job either way!! 😤 Even the "wrong" version looks amazing 💕
That’s debatable ;)
The best part is the superimposed shot of Benni crying and wailing for mama, when Svetlana makes him redo his blueprint
I am certainly looking at foam a different way after viewing a few of your tutorials, amazing work
Great build! The rifle looks amazing - as usual.
4:34 props for giving Mr. Kaufmann credit for his reference photos.
Of course! Helped us immensely!
Hilarious fade-in of Benny crying over forcing him to redo the model
Your attention to detail is compelling. Even when you're cutting a corner, you're not cutting corners. Bravo!
This is pretty aggressive episode. You're making a weapon, doggo gets evaporated, Beni gets yelled at MULTIPLE TIMES. But still... Awesome video❤️
Maybe the lockdown is getting to me

I gotta say, I love watching Kamui perform her craft, I wince a bit whenever she uses a boxcutter. She's one twitch away from slicing her hand!
I like how your "not perfect" result turns out dope and makes me wanna buy it without hesitation. But this is the way of being modest!
Benny's paint job really brought the gun to life.

master class in foam and painting. so many cool techniques.

Absolutely brilliant work guys. Looks fantastic.
Thanks!
My son and I love this channel. Thanks to the blueprint and the tutorial, we made two screen accurate guns this afternoon. Thank you so much!
That is awesome! Well done!
Absolutely beautiful work. Fantastic craftsmanship
I like how clear this tutorial is, as well as the lack of crazy materials! Just simple foam (although idk how to work with it)
