Brussel Sprout Harvest | The Tiny Garden

- The year is drawing to a close and it is time for the final Tiny Garden harvest of 2023! Despite the weather the vegetable garden has been so productive and I am excited to see what vegetables I will be able pick for my Christmas Dinner!
With the vegetables out of the ground, I took the opportunity to make some progress on the main growing space redesign.
This is the last gardening video before Christmas and I would like to say a big thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all the support you have given me and my first year on TH-cam without your support and encouragement I wouldn't have reached this wonderful milestone.
Sorry about the sirens in the video, I popped in some music to make it less severe but they were going off all day! Thank you for watching wishing you a very merry Christmas!

There were a good few worms in there too! Underneath its all concrete so that is quite the compliment 🤗 can't wait to get seed sowing, I was sent a chilli seed from a friend and I think I might start that off soon! Hope you have a wonderful day! 🌱

Hey Mags, I did see they were going to do the boxing day sowing this year again! I have some on the go from June maybe I should do some more on boxing day too just in case!

Hiya Laura Congratulations on getting 1K+ subs very well deserved.
Looking forward to seeing the new set up, and try and scrub those walls then give it a couple of coats of white emulsion, that way the sun will hit the walls and bounce back onto your plants helping them grow.

I tried jet washing the walls there last year and whatever material they are made off wasn't very strong and they started crumbling and i didnt grt very far!! I could try again on the breeze block in the main growing area and see is it any different! Brightening up the space will definitely help!

I tried jet washing the white walls we have but they crumbled 🥲 I think I might get the grey ones a blast, it's so damp here I think it makes everything worse! I have a lot of painting to so the door and the fence both need doing!

I had a wonderful Christmas, i hope you did too! Dinner was 10/10 I scaled it back this year I usually go all out with three meats but we went for just a turkey this year 🙈
The broadbeans have just poked their heads out of the soil so I am starting to get that itch to start sowing again! I might have a chilli seed or two that I might try an early sowing! Roll on spring! 💪🌱

Hey Ali, I couldn't agree more! I love trying to improve my garden and work on my space, just the same as you do! It feels so good to get in the garden and lift and shift everything around, thank goodness the brassicas were ready to harvest! I have been waiting to move things around for a while now and finally I can get in and make adjustments for next year. I haven't met Clare yet 🙈 does she have a channel?

@@thetinygarden_ Ooh, it's lovely and a total win after a carrot fail 😄. Just blended up carrot tops and chard with garlic, cashews, pine nuts, olive oil. YUM. I think I might put a bit of parmigiana in as well (I add cheese to everything!)

Tricia and I will be on new eating regime come the new year, it’s been on the cards a while now. So much healthy foods we grow and yet the junk creeps in!!! We so need our energy levels to be higher than they are at present. All down to what and when we eat. Could do with setting up my weights again in the boiler room, another much needed job that needs doing in the new year. Before our seedling season begins 🥰🤗

I am the exact same, the junk creeps in so easy. I am like all or nothing, cook from scratch or just have no energy or motivation to cook at all 🤣🤣 I have the weights bar propped up in the corner and the only time I move it is to get around with the hoover 😅 heres to a healthier 2024 🤗xx

@@thetinygarden_ Hi Laura, my first ever attempt to grow carrots a few years back yielded a harvest of approx 35 carrots, i was so looking forward to them as the greenery was huge and i was thinking " oh yes, well done, big carrots " NO, not a chance they were no bigger than 2 seeds put together, all 35 of them. I have had good and bad carrots since, but they were my worst hahaha
First time I tried growing carrots, they all died in a heatwave, despite my best attempts to keep them moist. Didn't get a single one 😆
Next time around (and after reading/watching every resource available for tips and tricks to make it work), I got carrots maybe an inch or two long. Decided that carrots just aren't in my growing future 😂

I think I'm going to do some research into these iddy biddy carrot harvests, it seems so common....gorgeous lush green tops and nothing underneath!! 🥕 🥕
It does make me laugh though, gardening can be so unpredictable!!
