Headland Bass Fishing Cornwall

- Headlands can be a great place to focus efforts with lures as the tide often has a more pronounced effect on them which bass love! Trolling can be an incredibly effective way of covering ground whilst catching fish and finding where shoals are held up. SIBs really are ideal for this type of situation where strong tides would make a kayak uncomfortable and bigger boats will spook wary fish in the shallow waters.
In the session on the North coast of Cornwall I finally get back into some good numbers of bass whilst searching for a fish over 60cm.

Took the wife, a mate, and his daughter out along the finger in the harbour a couple of weekends ago. You fished it in an old video early in the season and had a schoolie or two.
We blanked.
Walking back along the finger, after having fished the left-hand side, if you're facing out to sea, we saw LOADS of fish in the weedie margin up the right-hand side, the town side. Live and learn. Gonna pop back this weekend and flick some surface lures over those margins and expect good things to happen!
Keep up the GREAT work you're doing, brother. You're an inspiration, a teacher, and, a damned fine angler, Sir!
Excellent video and nice to see you using my local harbour and fishing the headland. Lovely bass and really looking forward to the next one.
One my favourite in the county
What harbour is it please.
Couple of beauties. Lovely evening fishing
Another great video. Great work and seamanship. On boring note, you really should have kill cord attached when you are trolling in gear, just in case..
I fish the headland I’ve had some cracking fish off the reef love to try from a boat brilliant video as always
Cracking video again. Keen them coming, my favorite watch, love it when a new video is uploaded 👌🏼
Awesome to see the bass flying in keep the content coming loving the frequent posts ❤
Love seeing you fish my local! Also, I trawl the savage gear sandeel 42g and at 2 mph and loads of line I can get it to 60-80ft deep trawling
Great watch as usual😎
Loved that mate stay safe
Great video . Keep them coming. Master fisherman.
Love this. Exactly the stuff I want to watch with you talking about what and why. Cheers!
Nice one Oban! 🎣🎣🎣
Excellent.
Nice fishing fished there once from the shore the tide is a fair push through there perhaps I need to try it again there
Wicked video Oban nice one. Wonder what it’s like going out the mouth with any hint of swell
Not a lot of fun, I talk from experience 😂
Very enjoyable video.
Your SIB seems to have a very narrow beam for it's length. Does that affect it's performance in a swell?
Well spotted, it’s marketed as a light weight sib and is better suited as a tender than what I’m using it for, actually it performs rather poorly in all but the best conditions
Oban, does the theory on islands and bait funnelling apply to mackerel too? I just fished Abersoch in Wales yesterday, very similar landscape to where you are here, only second time I've ever fished lol and didn't get a thing. Not a bite. Had a fishfinder but battery went quite quick, so that didn't help.
I prefer to fish slow moving water out the back of reefs for mackerel but I’m sure they move through with the tide, they just might not hang around for long
What SIB make/model are you using?
You guys change your sibs as often as you change your socks, must be freebies.
Doesn't really help us guys looking to buy our first when looking for recommendations 😉
Who doesn’t like trying new boats!! To tell you the truth they’re all made in the same factories in China regardless of the brand… build quality is questionable and the ratings aren’t worth the paper they’re written on… perhaps an old zodiac would be the way to go but how confident can you be in glue that’s 20 years old…
@@obanonthewater7796Learnt that lesson!!!
What are you talking about? The Excel Volair 3.9m was in like 4 videos. It was worn down! ;)
@@KristianSloth oh not well made then😆😉
