unlike the bose mini soundlink it is easy to access the battery but this one is inside the speaker itself..the only way to access it is to totally open the unit which is so painful to watch...😢😢😢
The big step that I have yet to have someone mention in this endeavor is that the three wires to the battery are soldered to the circuit board! So unless you are prepared and capable of soldering on a circuit board, not to mention the danger of soldering to a battery due to potentially overheating the battery, you may want to think twice before attempting a battery replacement yourself.
Having seen this video, I'm fairly confident that I could take mine apart - and also fairly confident that I'd never get it all back together again! I agree with comment somebody else made about if you need to swap the battery ever. Nightmare.

i was about to buy one, then in this video i saw they intentionally designed it to make it impossible to repair or to even replace the battery so that you must buy a new one if it dies for any reason, and i changed my mind. great job appl.. i mean, bose! this is unethical and disrespectful of the customers (US!). personally i boycott this kind of brands.

There is no woofer. It uses a passive radiator so once it's taken out it wont work. Passive radiator work with in the sealed enclosure only as it uses the air pressure created by the speaker rather than amplifier

Different repairers here in Nigeria have complained about not having the proper tool to loosen the nuts under the speaker. Please what kind of screwdriver did you use and where can I find it?
My battery had 70% when I took it apart to clean sand out of it and now it says low battery and won't hold a charge, although it still shows that it is charging. It is only usable when it is plugged in, I'm not sure what I did wrong.
when you take the speaker apart and put it back together, you have short circuited and blown the fuse inside the battery block! remove the inside you will see the battery block and the broken fuse ! Be very careful when re-attaching the flat cable to the io board !
I can’t even get the screws out. I tried several sizes of temper, resistant torques, and two of them seem to be in the correct range which were number 10 I believe and they still don’t work. What is the correct bit to remove those screws? Thanks for any help.

Yo man i gotta tell you something. When i try turning on my speaker it wont turn on no matter how hard i push the power button. It is fully charged since when you charge it a battery symbol pops up. The rest of the buttons work, just the power button

This got more and more complicated every minute. It's harder than a cellphone. Mine stopped working after it got splashed with water and I was planning on opening it and seeing if there is water damage on the circuit board, but this is too much. I'm gonna have to call someone.
the USB port is garbage, mine wont charge through it, ive never been rough with it as i am not a kid lol it was plugged in and wasnt charging though i could still use it, and it worked perfectly, when i unplugged it, it died a few seconds later and now it wont charge but it still shows up when i plug it into my laptop, my battery still works like new 4 days on a charge of moderate use at about 35-40% volume, i ordered a base charger on amazon for 21 CAD, the bose one is 40 CAD and has terrible reviews, hoping thats the issue, ill take a gamble with the non official charger 40 bucks for a plastic base...get lost bose lmao

Reflecting / downfiring drivers do not work for vocals. If Amar Bose was alive, he would never release this design. The downfiring driver muffles vocals and they sound terrible. They need to add side firing drivers for vocals, and use the downfiring driver for low frequencies that get reflected and create a concert effect.
Bose needs a kick in the nuts for making such an unfriendly to maintain product. I'll just leave mine plugged in until it fails. Won't be buying any more Bose speakers now that I know what a lack of foresight looks like on their part. They should just make the batteries replaceable like in an old time flashlight, just unscrew the lid and the batteries slide out. Those older engineers didn't f-up, why do these newer ones?

Ya estuve intentado todas las formas y con todos los tips habidos y por haber: incluso desactivé el bluetooth de todos los demás dispositivos que tengo en casa, de tal modo que la MacBook es la única que dejé con ese sistema inalámbrico activado, pero aun así la bocina NO se asocia, sólo se repite la voz: "Listo para emparejar", de ahí no pasa. El resto de los aparatos sí los detecta y sí los reproduce. ¿Qué otra cosa puedo intentar? Gracias de antemano por la ayuda.

Why take that pain ? Just drop it in the bose service center and they do it for you
The more expensive model is a lot easier with regards to replacing the two batteries inside.

Yes it has 1 screw and comes right out but the whole little unit needs to be replaced and I can’t find anywhere that sells parts for this speaker 😕

This was never made to be easy to replace the battery. I can see myself accidentally stabbing the speaker trying to undo those goddam screws.
