Hi George👋 from New Orleans. I am one of your two female subscribers. You are a breath of fresh air on You tube. I respect your opinion because you don’t just buy a bottle just to say you own a stupid number of perfumes. Thx for entertaining and educating. Be healthy and be strong. Please keep them coming. Thx!
Your take on ‘if you miss out on a fragrance and it gets discontinued, move on’ is refreshing. Fragcom perspective on hunting down at all costs - and at any price - needs to be challenged.
As someone who has fallen into the trap many times of buying a fragrance just because I’ve heard it’s being discontinued, what you said was very helpful
Platinum Egoiste: my first 'real" fragrance, bought them myself on 18th birthday, 15 years later....im using Franck Olivier Eau De Passion, and im still enjoing Platinum Egoiste scent.
You talk a lot of sense that is very refreshing in the frag com, especially on redundant fragrances and not being manipulated by discontinuations and reformulations
As a fan of the channel: You look great! But you were also cool before. Keep doing what you like. This is the only channel where i constantly learn or discover something new. So, thanks!
"I even have Glacial Essence for some reason" 🤣 Bang on with Tonka Imperiale. Really good stuff. Solid advice concerning fomo too. Things have a way of coming full circle. And possibly even rewarding patience.
@@pradeep_sekar funny you ask. I purchased a 2010 bottle for $550 that was 90% full. The new bottles aren’t quite the same formulation, seems like some synthetics have been added. But the vintage is worth every penny and then some
Really loving the new content and hope you’re doing better. You made a ton of good points but it was nice to have you call out getting similar fragrances. Diversify that portfolio.
I liked your review of Eau Sauvage. It really describes that fragrance well. Starts out with that fresh Neroli blast and then turns into a manly beast. I always associated it with an evening at a country club in the summer…a formal dinner after a round of golf with a bunch of wealthy business types. I bought it a few months ago. what a classic.
I love Spiritueuse Double Vanille! It was my first niche love before I knew that niche existed. Even if there are better vanillas, I have an emotional attachment to it. Love Feve Delicieuse too! I'm keeping it for special occasions. I sampled Tonka Imperiale last year. It's a masterpiece and to me, masculine- leaning. I've ordered a sample of Guerlain Angelique Noire. I disregarded it in the past because I used to think I couldn't wear green notes. I hear the vanilla in it is the same as Spiritueuse Double Vanille. I'm a vanilla monster! Have a great weekend, George. 😊👍💖
Love this video concept. I really love that you put so much thought into your videos. Even though you have an very different taste/nose compared to mine, I enjoy your videos so much. One of the best in the game. Platinum Egoiste is my fav Chanel btw. 😎
I wanted to pick just 1 on the list that I thought you have to buy. For me it’s Platinum Egoiste. I have owned it from the mid 90s, when I was in my early 20s and have loved it ever since. I have always, and will always own it. It’s just that good. It’s probably one of the last fragrances I would get rid of if I had to give up my collection. You had some others on your list that you must buy, Eau Sauvage and Double Vanilla are to good not to own
This is a brilliant video and is an original concept. Every frag reviewer reviews what they already HAVE. Or, they get sent amazing frags to review. This is brilliant because it makes these fragrances somewhat elusive, and even more praiseworthy
Nice to see this kind of video where a reviewer is honest when he states he doesnt have a frag but would like to get one or all 10 in the list (8 i think coz you got a few). Im also looking to purchase yesterday haze so its nice to know it has your approval which will get it over the hump for my next haul. Great video concept yet again and i hope you can consider my suggestion in your post for unique concept for top 10 list. God bless!
I honestly love how you remember anything from jesolo other than drunk Austrians 🤣🤣 and yeah… this video was the final push to get Naxos! Love your work!
Love your content George, but lately when you shoot indoors, you are 2-stops under! Can I suggest a side light to balance the contrast of the floor lamp in the background. Sorry, OCD triggered!
Some true classics in here I was honestly surprised to hear you don't own, like Eau Sauvage parfum. Always thought Naxos would be right up your alley as well. Absolutely great list made me really want to double down and get Tonka Imperiale but with american Guerlain prices it would cost me quite the pretty penny.
All fragrances are jumping in price....that is why i said buy what you want now before your never able to buy them.....If it hard to justify paying the prices now wait tell you see what there going to charge in the future...And like you said George some have already done that....I do feel pressure to buy these fragrances that either are being discontinued or going up in price like Beach Geeza did...I mean i agree with Beach Geeza when he said he has been giving them away since he started...I got to say they were cheap 120 bucks for 50ml now they are 190 bucks for 50ml still worth the price i think but i got everyone of his fragrances before the price jump because i felt i needed to and i was spot on....Very Nice as always George! But Tom Ford is Top Dog in my book! Second would be Dior.....Then on and on...There is so many brands my head is spinning!
I love all the options here starting with Reflection Man(shout out hero) all the way through the end. I do prefer Dior Feve also I also have a similar mentality with fragrances being discontinued . The only one I chased was Dior Mitzah Great video 🤘🏼
Hey George..greetings...I have smell Bvlgari neroli wood..I loved it,,but my girlfriend doesn't like it....do you think is it still gonna be a good pick..(because I love the smell and I probably buy it )..just want an expert 😏 call and take
Good concept. I have a handful of those and hardly ever wear them, largely due to easier "blue" reaches. I have to agree about Xerjoff. I bought Alexandria 11 last week and its different level but, due to price, I won't be getting my next Xerjoff this side Christmas.
Is Naxos that good? I’ve watched lots of reviews, but some say it’s really just honey and vanilla and hardly any tobacco? I’m about to pull the trigger for £170 - Any thoughts would be welcome 🙏 FYI - I already have Tobacco Vanille, would this be too similar to Naxos and thus not worth the purchase?
Also, have you ever done “best designer vanillas”? I’d be very interesting. My wife loathes sweet, so I must be careful. But I adore vanilla (more so than Tonka) and I’d like to invest in one real food one. Preferably deep and rich and maybe even a little dark. Thanks!
I imagine one day we will have a drink together in an obscure bar in New York (that’s where I live, I’m not coming to you) and talk about people as if there were fragrances!! Cheers!!
Got a 1993 brand new in box vintage Egoiste Platinum (yes, it was not Platinum Egoiste back then!) on the way. Already had samples of it and it’s incredible.
Great Content and unique delivery ! Can you review Bvlgari Glacial Essence? You said you have it what’s your thoughts on it! Btw I’m setting up my PayPal soon to contribute. Keep up the good work! Greetings from New York.
I think you were referring to the original 'egoiste' which isn't platinum, which does have that spicy refined 60s smell. Platinum on the other hand is an outright 90s scent.
Man in Black is probably THE fragrance that got me into collecting. It still is a fall staple of mine. It's different enough from Spicebomb Extreme (or vice versa) that I can find suitable situations for both. Great video!
Platinum Egoiste, Paco Rabanne pour Homme, Azzaro pour Homme, Guerlain Habit Rouge, Zino Davidoff... All of these are still available out there. Why is noone talking about these great fragrances anymore? They are so outdated, they're almost 'niche' these days.
Yes! Yesterday Haze! I got a decant of that because I was searching for fig or date FRUIT scents. Not just fig leaf or tree but the sweet, juicy, gooey-textured fruit. And with that in Yesterday Haze along with whipped cream - yes, a whipped cream note - in the mid, it's on my full bottle to-buy list. But I don't like Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum, either 2012 or 2017. I don't like the gummy elemi/myrrh. Eau Sauvage EDT (1966) is my second favorite ever in history, but not these recent parfums. And did you mention neroli as being in there? Doesn't smell like it to me at all and it's not in the notes listing. Did you mean elemi? OK I just checked the note listing for the 2012 version and that one lists petigrain as a note. I assume that is what you were referring to. And Platinum Egoiste is a struggle because the metallic accord is way too intense.
I am looking for a perfume recommendation. Something rose or peony with white sugar sweetness and brightness/freshness sort of like mint. I would rather it not be powdery floral or sickly sweet.
Audio is better. Practical lighting is fine (the lamp) but The global exposure is too low and your face should be the brightest part of the image, instead of the lamp.
Friendly reminder: you don't need a full bottle and presentation of everything you're curious about, or even like. A 10 ml decant is a better use of space and lasts a long time.

Totally agree in regards to Xerjoff. Procured my first bottle recently of Uden. Just smells fantastic. Presentation and bottles are top notch.
Now you are looking better than earlier, and I appreciate your knowledge towards fragrances.
