- How can you tell if you are a hoarder? Well maybe compared to me you aren't. We give you a tour of the Rocket Restorations back parts room to show you how we can finish restorations in the shop. Also covered if I need therapy for being a hoarder. Related, anybody have any parts for sale?
All of this stuff is super important stuff to anyone restoring Mopars. I commend you on keeping all of it safe for future use, whether it be your use or for someone looking for what they need. Hoarding is such a negative sounding word, collecting sounds so much better. Whatever you want to call it, don't stop, someone will need these things eventually. ❤
My estate sale is going to be epic.
What do Mopar guys do when they run out of room for parts? They build more barns, pull up shipping containers, recover the neighbor's unwanted metal sheds, scour the countryside for buildings people want moved...etc. So when there is no more room MAKE MORE ROOM!

All of the small parts are so important in a major restoration! Hoarder, yes. But a necessary hoard to have in your business!
I have been to your property 30 plus years ago to pick up parts from Ben, truly our Northwest parts guru of yester-year!

Since I've started watching your channel I constantly catch myself eyeing the background stuff thinking that I'd love to wander through your shop looking around. This vid scratched that itch. Thanks. I don't think you're a hoarder, I think you're a fully committed Mopar expert!! Oh, and Jamie is gonna organize your parts stash? I've seen the video of his shop from when he closed it down...good luck with that. LOL

Well, you do have a 'few' more bits and pieces than I do. However, when it's a good part, unobtainium new, and it fits something still out there, it's definitely not hoarding 😁
How many times have you had to buy a part you know you had but couldn't find?
I think I'd build a new building. Start filling,organizing and inventory the new building by cleaning out the old ones one by one. As one empties. Fill it the same way.
Not as often as you might think but it has happened.
I’ve got a 63 Dodge 330 2 Door sedan. I could use a drivers side rear quarter trim. I’m building a max wedge tribute. I can use all kinds of parts for that.

Even for the most popular classic cars the are many parts that will never be reproduced.
'Hoarding' is often used to imply something has little to no value.
With old parts, it's the complete opposite.
Where I get in trouble is the “take everything” deals. Get a good price to clean out the garage but then end up with a lot of stuff I necessarily wouldn’t buy otherwise. But it’s all good stuff and getting so hard to find.

I was a good friend of ben snobar sure miss him he knew everything about mopars it looks like you bought a lot of his parts handy to have he had about 150 or so assorted fenders in his garage i don't see any fenders in your video did you not get a chance to get some of them at the auction
A lot of the sheet metal sold in the auction and went east. Ended up with a lot of stuff from the auction.

If you didn't have all the parts like you have then you wouldn't be able to keep cars like mine on the road. And with how busy and back logged you are with car projects I can see how it would be hard to keep everything super organized.

To me a hoarder is someone who collects and is never willing to part or trade with someone who really needs a part. They will never use, sell, or even trade with another with what they have in their lifetime.
Most everything is for sale - just gets a little overwhelming sometimes
