  • This game was played on patch 1.23 with Cradle of civilization expansion. I started as Morocco with a goal to form Andalusia, control new world and invest as much as possible in development.

    *Meanwhile Austria gets neutered and Scotland nearly took over the British Isles*
    Add to the fact a Venice that had nearly conquered Italy and a Bohemia which took over most of Eastern Germany, and a lubeck and Mainz that took over central and western Germany... very interesting game!

    • @ObjectiveGaming
      @ObjectiveGaming  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Big comeback from Scotland they had 3-4 provinces at one moment, but at end they defeated England.
      Venice almost formed Italy by themselves they needed one more province but then they somehow lost war to much weaker Milan. At the end i allied them so i could force them to form Italy, but from some reason they didn't want to do it. Same as Mamluks didn't want to form Egypt or Arabia, don't know why.
      Reformation was very strong in this game, Bohemia is one of few nations that stayed catholic. They won religious war with help of Ottomans and after that they reconverted most of Germany

    I played 1 tall game out of probably 10 or so other games where I focused on blobbing or colonizing. And that 1 tall game (as Italy) was one of my most fun games. And I was able to do some realistic role-playing. I was also immensely rich, had max amount of buildings in every province, had minimum 25 development in every province. I also had my "angle wings" expanding into the Balkans and Iberia to border my march of Aragon and Greece while having an African client state own all of North Africa. My last 75 years I focused on pushing the Turks out of Europe feeding my allies and Greece and also punishing France who was a life long ally of my who betrayed me. I took realistic amounts of land at a time (no more than 60 or so over extension), no constant wars, actually fought hard in ally wars (and also keeping weaker allies if they were loyal to me), took full advantage of a republic government with 666 rulers, built up my subjects, 100 mercantilism, lots of power projection from humiliation wars.
    Maybe I should do games like that more often

    • @ObjectiveGaming
      @ObjectiveGaming  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I sincerely wish Europe had been more of a player in this game. It really felt like they all just gave up. Would have been really cool to see some more interesting conflict between Islam and Christianity, especially around the Mediterranean. Not your fault, of course. This was a really great timelapse, seeing countries played tall is super interesting.

    I still do not understand trade fully. Why are you collecting in a node where you don't have any territorial presence, but are you still making so much money?

    • @ObjectiveGaming
      @ObjectiveGaming  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, trade can be very confusing sometime. In this case i have big territorial presence as whole Aragon is in Genoa trade node (That is 1/3 of the province power) + You get 10% more trade power for every merchant in downstream nodes (180% for all my merchants) + I can use my ships to further increase trade power in node.
      There are 3 end nodes in game, one of them is Genoa. That means that trade cant go further from that, they are most valuable trade nodes. In this case most of trade from new world + big part of Asian trade finishes in Genoa making it ridiculously overpowered.

    Really do wish that general Muslim(excluding the Turks/Persians/Mughals and such) countries in the game had a more creative title then "Great Sultan" for the emperor rank... there is even in game(one of its bonus traits) and historical justification for a country like Andalusia taking a title like "Caliph" for its ruler at emperor level. And really a Muslim nation reaching the level of power needed to be called a empire would without a doubt assert their claim to be recognized as the true Caliphate. As seen in the historical example of the actual Ottoman Empire who did claim the title. Hell even the monarchy of Morocco has made claim to it in the past.
