- New and improved version to my last shark farm video. Thanks to @koichi5997 in my discord channel for pointing out some better ways to set the base up! now you don't have to worry about pesky sand bags and precise placement of items in order to start farming sharks. I will be working on a version for console since I know you don't have access to signs.

A couple notes from viewers:
From @soular420 One of the best tips for using bait, is that a rod can't catch the same fish twice, so if you catch a trout, put it on your rod immediately and you are guaranteed to catch a shark or salmon on the next cast.
From @koichi5997 (the founder of this version): According to the video the bobber is disappearing because of the wooden signs on the roof. i would advise you to move them. and press the button faster. after the bobber touches the water, don't wait.
why is my fishing rod line snatching

ooooo I didnt know that. If youre using 2 rods can you catch the same fish twice? because theyre different rods?
The previous fish caught is tied to the rod and not the player, so as long as you put the trout on the rod that caught it right away, when you switch back to it, you will be guaranteed not to catch a trout again.

Love these base ideas. But damn the floor thing at the start is tricky.
Can I upgrade roof to stone or brutalist to make it smoother? It keeps getting caught where you said it would.

if you get the new TC skin you can see how many building blocks it took to create the build then multiple build cost by material cost per wall type and that should give you a good slight over estimate of the build cost
on the normal tc .,.,if you hold the mouse over wher it says cost pr 24h,.,.you get number of building blocks and upkeep tax's

What was the use of varying hight? How does it help. Can it be done without that gap. This is bit more advanced than previous version. Not viable for pvp map. Great for pve

they are changing depth for sharks this force and you wont be able to use raw fish for bait anymore, theres a few videos with some insight on the upcoming updates so id suggest watching those, id also like to hear if those updates change anything for this method

Does this base 100% works with the new water update? Because i tried your previous base on a test server before update and it worked then on Vannila after update day it didnt just to make sure
its been tested as of 3 days ago. so yes as of now. try it in a build server again just to make sure

Has anyone gotten this base to work after force wipe? I tried building it 2 times but the bobber just despawns when the door hits it.

Nice on a build server, but keep in mind that when we start building this we dont have remove right or building priv
cannot connect the floor stacked parts under water, "too close to another building". Above water it would place walls fine. That is a waste of an hour man

Nah, idk what's happening. I log off and it's there, come back the next day and it's gone, along with the ramps. I feel like maybe the metal ramp is decaying without the floor underneath it? And that is somehow causing the TC to break? Lmao I have no idea. It's a very strange phenomenon, like nothing I have ever experienced before.
They had to nerf fishing after this.
Is there a fast way to make the cheapest simplest fishing base? Setting up this base on 800 pop server is impossible. I wish there was a simple fast base like this to setup and then have my main floorstacked base somewhere close to this external fishing base.
He has a video of version one being built on a 800 pop server as a solo. Went from rock to AK. Seemed pretty hard to do though.
You can watch my other video or just make a simple fishing base like sigbog does. It just wont have the ramps

Destroying all those foundations in the water without a TC is actually hard
Its frustrating. but you only have to destroy the ones on the beach for the floor stack (sunless you do it from the other side) and about 4 or 5 squares in the water. you can leave the twig triangles attached and get rid of them later or just leave them
@@BooBooMushuWhen I did v1 I had a problem of not being able to hit the soft side of the foundation and it got me to spend a few rocks

nah fuck that, I've been trying to find a good spot for it for the past hour. Wherever I try to buil it, the ground is either too steep or to flat. Previous farm was better :D
New update broke this people
Sort of, also not really. The depth needed changed to 5.5 vs 4.5 you also can't use fish meat for bait, but bear and other meat is now lvl 10 bait. So no gutting trout, hunt and fish with a bunch of lvl 10 bait. Theoretically it's actually faster at catching better fish because of the bait you just have to go deeper

I know i know im trying! a lot of request for console. this setup is closer to having console players being able to use it. the signs are just so dang useful its hard not to incorporate them.
The only placeables I can get to place on ramps that are equivalent in size to a sign is a small box, but I'm not sure how well it'd work as a replacement. I'll just have to stick to making 2k scrap p/hr instead like a brokie 😭

These kinds of vids always irritate me because they're almost impossible to consistently replicate (even your first few steps of the build aren't correct, they've been dismissed and scoffed at on Rust's Building Bulletin discord), take ages to try and setup in the open, which means people are gonna kill you, have a hundred and one different caveats and what-ifs and even then, seem to fail for some reason or other, which ends up being discovered by some rando on discord two weeks later, when the wipe's already over. No wonder nobody likes fishing except on weird, non-vanilla servers and why the devs buffed fish traps.
