    I was trying to figure out what seemed “off” about this video. And then I realized it was not the video. It was just the first video I’d ever seen where it wasn’t a cloudy or rainy day in Birmingham. Seriously. Interesting trip, though. Thanks.

      Crikey! It is too. By the way do you not use any flange lube?

    Great tram service! Even if this looks slow, I couldn't believe how quickly I arrived at Edgbaston Village after getting on at New Street

    They seriously need to get this up to Bearwood.

      CAF is a popular choice across the world, my home town also has the same model, but with a different front.🙂

    The tram-only roads look nice, not just bland bitumen or concrete. Are cyclists allowed?

    Edgbaston Village? It's a bunch of office buildings at the top of Hagley Road...

    A bit faster maybe surely unless there is a speed limit for trams 🤔

    Its so sloow. Sltho to be said, you can almost see it breaking the magic 20kph at one point

    Why do they move so slowly?

    • @BrumRider
      @BrumRider  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Because it's in the city centre.

      Cool, so it's much quicker in the outskirts? I've not tried taking the tram to Wolv...imagined it would take hours

    • @BrumRider
      @BrumRider  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@chaitraomkar8802 it's much quicker in the suburbs because it uses an old train line, so it is separated from people or cars.

    What has Birmingham City Council done to the city as it's a Disgrace? First of all they started with the Bullring shopping centre, and that looks like a glorified Greenhouse, and now this:and this is worse, and it will end up a white elephant as the General Public will Continue using the Trains to go from Wolverhampton to Birmingham

    I play all British tram videos at double speed, so I can pretend it's a proper European tramway, and not running at a snail's pace for fear of stupid people and lawyers. If only TH-cam had a feature whereby you could make pedestrians look half their body size but with double the brain cell count, like they were before health and safety became a replacement for common sense and survival instinct.

    Excruciatingly slow - almost quicker to walk! The speed restrictions and the lingering at stops are dreadful Why do CAF vehicles squeal so much on curves, and why do they have to crawl over facing points when they're set to go straight ahead?

      It is quicker to walk from Snow Hill station to Centenary, and maybe beyond. But be careful: you could be criticising the new tram! Hype is more acceptable. However, let's see how it pans out. Going through the urban core with a route lined with shops, offices, hotels, apartments and entertainment should be ideal for a transit link. How well will it measure up?

      Is there plans to extend past the current terminus ?

    • @stduffy72
      @stduffy72 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@colinvespa4709 There were plans to extend the tramway up Hagley Road and into Quinton to terminate at J3 of the M5, however it was just a proposal; no firm plans had been submitted.
