I am a musician. I can play many instruments but I'm mainly a pianist. I think all musicians who have played in a band willl agree with me that the bass has a great influence in a main song. Honestly any song will feel pale without a baseline. Bass isn't a lead instrument but a band is incomplete without it. Music
All are extremely talented. Love to hear great music, no matter what the instrument.

Classical and jazz pianist here. I never had much understanding nor respect for bass during my teen years. It was just part of the sound. Then I began study music science, and we had to be able to rotate in the rhytm section - meaning I had to learn guitar and bass (since singing and playing piano/keyboard was already something I could do). Guitar, I'd played for around 3 years back then. But bass? Ah, how hard could it be.
Well, the time came where we had to do this concert where we played 5 songs and keps rotating instruments between those songs. At my turn on the bass... I had to bloody sit down. It was SO heavy, and although I could press guitar strings easily, bass strings are something else. Highly concentrated, I managed to not totally embarass myself... no wait. I was sitting down. So I survived, some bassy sounds came out from my place at the stage, and that's all I have to say about that...
So my respect for bassists is through the roof.
Nowadays, I make music in my home studio. I own a bass but I'm far too bad on bass to use it for something serious, so I always default to using the piano with a VST bass sound... and yes, that's cheating. But hiring Davie504 everytime I need a bassline would get expensive...

@@DelaIDK just keep at it, and learn what you can. In time man took me 5 years to start sounding not half bad, took me up to 10 years to sound good. So long as its your passion and you enjoy it and have fun with it, i promise you'll inspire yourself and get better while hardly noticing. Thats why it important to film yourself playing, even if you're freestyling
