Thanks Justin for this awesome compilation!! The first time I saw wrestling was on a Saturday afternoon in '75-'76 when I was 7yrs old. It had started raining and us kids had to run inside my house. Was flipping through the channels and Mid-Atlantic/NWA wrestling was on. They were showing the previous week's hazy coliseum footage and Ric Flair and Wahoo McDaniel was fighting outside the ring. Flair broke off a table leg and smacked Wahoo in the head with it. Wahoo's head was bleeding and my first thought was, "That table-leg must've had a nail in it".
From then on I was hooked and loved my Mid-Atlantic/NWA wrestling that would come on right after FatAlbert. The 90's WCW era was by far better than anything McMahon could ever dream up. Too bad WCW was destroyed from within. I tried to watch WWF after, but it was just silly and made no sense.
Yep, Saturday afternoons were for watching wrestling in my house, especially Mid-Atlantic. Then we would watch Georgia Championship wrestling over on TBS when we first started getting that channel.

On Mid-Atlantic I liked the Masked Superstar, Ric Flair and Greg Valentine. I loved it when they would beat up on Ricky Rowboat (I used to call him that to make my cousin Dawn mad). I wish I could see the episodes back when Flair and Valentine mat-burned Ricky Rowboat's eye!! ðĪĢ

Ok so this is coming from a 37 year old who was a wrestling addict during the attitude era, there were some things i didnt agree with, especially the sex, i saw sables titties when i was 9, yes great for younger me but older me is just kinda like "yea that probably wasnt the best thing" no it didnt fuck me up, living in poverty is what fucked me up, but like Godfather and the hoe train was fucked i do remember as a little kid the boys would just scream "hoeeeeeee train" when little girls were walking down the hallway, but other than that wrestling wasnt to bad, i do feel bad about the little girl who got beat to death when i was a kid but i remember watching the verdict of it and finding out she was beat to death and it wasnt wrestlings fault and i cheered which was pretty gross on my part but i was 11 give me a break

Bret hart is the whole reason Steve Austin went over so hard. Hitman had the idea of adding blood to the match and offered Austin to do the blading as well in addition to taking the inevitable heat from McMahon. That whole Bret hart heel turn was so amazing. When you hear Austin speak about Hart he has nothing but good things to say about him.
It's not outrageous to say that was the most significant match in WWF/E history and possibly of the last 75 years
Bret put so many dude's over...it almost justifies how bitter he became...I mean I understand, but he had options and he had like 4 members of his family depending on him to keep their wrestling careers alive (Owen didn't have the charisma of backstage political accumine for Vince not to include him when axing the rest as inevitable retaliation in Bret jumped ship)
For a while it was Bret, shawn, and a Diesel/Sid/Yoko/Vader carousel of stiff workers with low stamina, so Bret had plenty of pull...he just knew Shawn was more over with fans and it was organic, not just Vince pushing the next roid enhanced experiment that moves like a rusty robot. Bad luck for sure though
He actually got put over so hard because Triple H, Shawn Micheals, Bret Heart i think, and one other person started hugging each other after they went off air. Triple H got his ass rippled and title taken away that was then given to Steve

And the Santo Gold 2-hour long infomercial was the only thing to watch. I watched it because it was the only wrestling on tv. I remember Ox Baker and Eric Embry. I even got the Santo Gold in the mail COD.
