In my defense, i was a kid and my friend had been drowning me with either hillarious links to drop my guard or gore/shock links. Since this wasn't childish-funny I thought this had to be another shock/gore link so I didn't get past the "start your bonsai" picture gallery. I snapped and wrote the site owner who only said "get over it'... So I wrote complaints to every visible brand in the pictures or descriptions on that first page. I was berating the companies for allowing this for the sake of free advertisement. The bonsai site didn't close like 12yo me had hoped, but they were forced to censor the brands. They also wrote a post complaining about idiots who can't take a joke. It was only then, a week after seeing the site and avoiding that friend that I realised it was supposed to be a funny peace offering for the stiletto-heel kitten-stomping video she had sent me just minutes prior. I still cringe.
I'll never forget the few images I saw on what I think was Rotten, thanks to my sister. A man partially decapitated by a helicopter, people attacked with machetes, autopsied bodies with lots of tumors. Nothing like the crime scene photos I'd see in a forensic analysis classes in college, but definitely contributed to my still active morbid curiosity

I feel for Shannon, I'm in constant pain because I valued my job over my safety, health and almost life. I spent 6 years fighting so damned hard to even get a xray of my back. It was always "your after drugs". Even now that there is proof it exists, and don't get me wrong I now have pain medication, which is good because it's degenerative and as my doc said I'd likely have had my body shut down by now if I wasn't on them. But I always hear from others "Your too young to need those medications" "your too young to have that condition", I'm 33, but by the same stupid logic I also get "the pain can't be too bad if you don't get that treatment" when said treatment will give me at best 15 years to live before I develop cancer of the spine, which a chance of death or paralysis every time. Needing the surgery sooner and sooner. The last few years I won't even get into physical therapy before I need it again. But no apparently I'm not too young for that hugely life changing choice. Also get told I'm being immature for not taking treatments like that, and rather managing the pain and doing what little physio I can do to prevent my condition from being as bad as it could if I stopped moving.

I fully admit that I was one of the people that bought into the Bonsai Kitten thing. But, to be fair, I was also in my young teens and lived in a neighborhood where there were some people that were complete psychopaths and thought nothing of injuring or killing animals for fun. A few weeks before finding "Bonsai Kittens" on the internet I had actually had to testify in court as a witness to my neighbor beating an unwanted litter of kittens to death with a hammer right on the street in front of our apartment. One detail I won't get out of my head.. For me it was 3m 1h, I had similar experience as you. Basically the video shows how 3 Ukrainian teenagers kill a homeless man using a screwdriver and a hammer. More than 10 years has passed since me watching this video and I still have a vivid memory of it. ;/ And yes, this unsettling sound of someone trying to breath. Horrible.
Beheadings are the hardest videos for me to watch. I have a pretty strong stomach. But I think the video that stays with me the most is the GoPro footage of the Christchurch Shooting in New Zealand a few years ago. I still have the video somewhere. It's a rough but fascinating watch.

I really feel for Shannon because I live with chronic pain, but I’m lucky in that the NHS has taken me seriously, I’ve gone through surgeries, I get regularly check ups, I’m a patient with the pain clinic who’ve put me in touch with a support group, and I’m very highly medicated and not treated like an addict looking for a fix, that there’s hard medical proof that my permanent nerve damage exists and isn’t made up. However if none of those was available to me? I’d have long taken my life, chronic pain without any help is a miserable existence, and it makes me really grateful knowing I have the medications to help me cope with it. I’m mostly bedridden with mobility problems because of it, but at least it’s being managed professionally by an entire medical team and isn’t being ignored, whereas Shannon had to live with raw pain that wasn’t medicated and he wasn’t offered any help, and I cannot imagine how horrible that was for him. Rest easy Shannon

One of the questions I wanted them to ask Jar man is, "How difficult was it to take a shit before the wound healed?". I mean, imagine having bad diarrhea, or rock hard constipation when you still have slashed and gashed open wounds inside your butt hole. He said it took 2 weeks to heal, there's no way he didn't poop for 2 weeks.

In my defense, i was a kid and my friend had been drowning me with either hillarious links to drop my guard or gore/shock links.
Since this wasn't childish-funny I thought this had to be another shock/gore link so I didn't get past the "start your bonsai" picture gallery.
I snapped and wrote the site owner who only said "get over it'... So I wrote complaints to every visible brand in the pictures or descriptions on that first page. I was berating the companies for allowing this for the sake of free advertisement. The bonsai site didn't close like 12yo me had hoped, but they were forced to censor the brands.
They also wrote a post complaining about idiots who can't take a joke.
It was only then, a week after seeing the site and avoiding that friend that I realised it was supposed to be a funny peace offering for the stiletto-heel kitten-stomping video she had sent me just minutes prior.
I still cringe.
I thought it was real but just because the Japanese are so fucked up.
I'll never forget the few images I saw on what I think was Rotten, thanks to my sister. A man partially decapitated by a helicopter, people attacked with machetes, autopsied bodies with lots of tumors. Nothing like the crime scene photos I'd see in a forensic analysis classes in college, but definitely contributed to my still active morbid curiosity

I feel for Shannon, I'm in constant pain because I valued my job over my safety, health and almost life. I spent 6 years fighting so damned hard to even get a xray of my back. It was always "your after drugs".
Even now that there is proof it exists, and don't get me wrong I now have pain medication, which is good because it's degenerative and as my doc said I'd likely have had my body shut down by now if I wasn't on them.
But I always hear from others "Your too young to need those medications" "your too young to have that condition", I'm 33, but by the same stupid logic I also get "the pain can't be too bad if you don't get that treatment" when said treatment will give me at best 15 years to live before I develop cancer of the spine, which a chance of death or paralysis every time. Needing the surgery sooner and sooner. The last few years I won't even get into physical therapy before I need it again. But no apparently I'm not too young for that hugely life changing choice.
Also get told I'm being immature for not taking treatments like that, and rather managing the pain and doing what little physio I can do to prevent my condition from being as bad as it could if I stopped moving.

I fully admit that I was one of the people that bought into the Bonsai Kitten thing. But, to be fair, I was also in my young teens and lived in a neighborhood where there were some people that were complete psychopaths and thought nothing of injuring or killing animals for fun. A few weeks before finding "Bonsai Kittens" on the internet I had actually had to testify in court as a witness to my neighbor beating an unwanted litter of kittens to death with a hammer right on the street in front of our apartment.
So yeah... shoving kittens into jars for art kind of set me off.

I still remember the first shock video I saw on the internet. It was a... Very, very unfortunate man subjected to inhumane execution - Beheading. And I remember.. One detail I won't get out of my head.. He was trying his best to stay alive by breathing i presume, because these very loud, heavy breathing sounds completely overpowered the other sounds in the video... To this day, I have no clue what the video was but damn it was horrible.
For me it was 3m 1h, I had similar experience as you. Basically the video shows how 3 Ukrainian teenagers kill a homeless man using a screwdriver and a hammer. More than 10 years has passed since me watching this video and I still have a vivid memory of it. ;/ And yes, this unsettling sound of someone trying to breath. Horrible.
Beheadings are the hardest videos for me to watch. I have a pretty strong stomach. But I think the video that stays with me the most is the GoPro footage of the Christchurch Shooting in New Zealand a few years ago. I still have the video somewhere. It's a rough but fascinating watch.

I really feel for Shannon because I live with chronic pain, but I’m lucky in that the NHS has taken me seriously, I’ve gone through surgeries, I get regularly check ups, I’m a patient with the pain clinic who’ve put me in touch with a support group, and I’m very highly medicated and not treated like an addict looking for a fix, that there’s hard medical proof that my permanent nerve damage exists and isn’t made up. However if none of those was available to me? I’d have long taken my life, chronic pain without any help is a miserable existence, and it makes me really grateful knowing I have the medications to help me cope with it. I’m mostly bedridden with mobility problems because of it, but at least it’s being managed professionally by an entire medical team and isn’t being ignored, whereas Shannon had to live with raw pain that wasn’t medicated and he wasn’t offered any help, and I cannot imagine how horrible that was for him. Rest easy Shannon
