Have you ever tried plunking for coho from the beach during a big tidal rip? Any thoughts on how to approach that, if you haven't? My marine area allows 2 rods, so I figure why not try?
@@Graceclaw that is a question I have never thought of honestly. I suppose you could if you have a good current going. Almost could find a way to float a herring strip with a spin n glow or something like that.
@@HolyMolyOutdoors Nice to see you not being deterred from posting a video without fish. Every time I do someone has to spout off some negative remark.. people. 😆
I like fishing that hole near the end of your video. It's just a little spooky when a cobble lets loose on the bank behind you. Made me dang near jumped out of my skin a few times...
Trap got 67 over the last 5 days. I was there friday and the clarity just wasnt what i was hoping. Even with flows under 8k. Ill try again next week! Nice job man!
"Rivers are going to go way up this weekend" yeah, I was planning to go out yesterday, but >1 inch of rain came down in 24 hours, depending on the area. So I stayed at home and organized my gear. Now I'm trying to convince my wife to let me skip on a wedding for a distant relative so I can go out 😅
Sometimes organizing gear is all you can do. I definitely believe with the saying that you catch your fish in the garage in how you prep and get ready. Haha best of luck on getting out!
Want to see the full rigging of how I like to Plunk for Steelhead, check this out:

Thank you thank you again for the awesome gifts
Glad you got them!! Definitely send some pictures when you do catch with them!

Awesome video. What size hook do you like to use with that spin n glo and worm setup? I love plunking with coonies.
That’s a 2/0 there used in the video. Thanks for watching and the support. Coonies are great, I love fresh sandshrimp when I can get them
floating a 1/4 or 1/8 jig in that spot would be nice or even some egg sacs
Absolutely! If it wasn’t on the rise that day 100% I would have
Is this a coastal river?
Not a coastal river in this one
I ended up catching 2 hatchery fish plunking & lost one in 3 days
Very nice!!!
What state
This was in Washington but honestly applies to the whole northwest
Tried plunking yesterday, but damn the water was too fast, 6 oz of lead just kept getting dragged on the bottom with the current
Drill a couple screws in you're weight
Great tip there!
That can happen, great tip on the screws to help anchor it down.
No Michael Jackson’s in there! I use those #4 spin glow with sandshrimp little Flo Red corky. Bro. Try it! I promise you
Heck yeah that’s a great combo, definitely will give it a try next outing. Thank you for watching and the support
