  • The spectacular Shrewsbury steam rally had a lot on show mainly the impressive Vintage tractor working area which had a few Roadless vehicles in operation with various drags & ploughs attached to the back. A few tracked tractors were having ago. It also featured steam cultivating in operation in the far end & in the opposite end of the field was live bindering & shave collecting which were sent to the working area which had A steam powered Threshing drum & converted wire baler to band. with various other stone crushing demos tipping air trucks & steam powered rack saw bench. Back in the Reaping demonstration they were also using an earlier trailed bagger combine with square baler behind which looked to have broke down at one point. Managed to find a B450 Roadless snug on the back of commercial truck. A few various vintage tractors in the line with a nice Massey Ferguson manure spreader in nice original condition along with an amazing Ruston Proctor Traction engine named the "Tulip Queen" which looked liked it had been neglected however looked very unique & rustic. After watching a few engines trundle round the ring whilst having fish & chips on site which weren't badly priced, the darkness soon fell which meant the funfair & showman's engine would soon come life.

That sure is a great working rally! Lots to see there. I like to see traction engines and tractors left in there working clothes, they have all got story to tell.
Seem bit odd steam sentinal selling ice cream, burgers would’ve seem more appropriate🤣

I think someone said it was permanent fixture close by and as it’s largely a sentinel steam rally I think the organisers thought it would be had to have it there.

That’s great the sentinal is being used in a business, people can appreciate it more often then. Looks like the rally scene is very popular up your way.

She was sat in a shed for 50 years, we got her going last year then roaded the 70 odd miles to the rally, we lost some of the canopy on the way..... and she tops at 4mph

Well I take my hat off to you jake! She is a credit to you for sure!!
And to road her to the rally must of been some achievements for you. When there was more money around a lot more engines used to be roaded down to west of England rally hear in cornwall, some doing long distances!
      Keep putting the brasso on!!👍
