I would like to say that I love the way you take an un desirable 4 door and make a very desirable 2 door you make it look so easy I wish THAT I had your skills I would love to have a 1972 chevelle but all the 2 doors that are in good shape are so expensive there are lots of 4 doors but that's 2 tow many doors for me. Just like to say great job
Being a Ford guy i don't understand why i enjoy watching you working on chevy's so much! Oh wait! lt's because you're a true gearhead. Come on people SUBSCRIBE.
Love the 66 2 door conversion but I can't wait to see the kit car put together. The look on the previous owners daughter's face will be priceless when she finally gets a drive after all these years.
Seriously Dan, I absolutely love your Nomad. I can’t get enough of it, even if you’re just backing it into the garage at the end of a different vid. It makes me happy just to see it. Luv ya man.
This is the guy that could take a 1949 chevy truck and put 2 cabs together to make a crew cab !!!! Would love to see that ! I have a 49 chevy truck and that's my dream ! This guy could do it in his sleep!
Once again you have saved a car from the crusher. Firing up an old 4 door after being parked for years is cool for about 10 minutes, after that it goes back to being an undesirable car which is why it was parked in the first place. But turning it into a 2 door makes it desirable. This one has escaped the inevitable of a 4 door and now will be a coveted hotrod. #respect
Hey Dan. The car is really looking good. My guess is the folks who critique your work, are either "experts or complainers" The way you do things and how well they turn out, a future beginner appreciates you. Take care
I have been in the body shop business all my life, i am 61 years old and started out at 17 years old working on old car's and doing collision repair work. I will say you have skills and you not scared to jump in a do it. Stay safe and keep it up that old more door is going to be really cool when finished.
I think part of what i like about this channel is our fab styles are so similar, take some rough measurements, trace, make it look decent by eye, then burn it in. I've done a lot of patching and rebuilding that way
You are just doubling down on the content ! I speak for everyone watching when I say thank you for taking the extra time (ridiculous amount of extra time) to film , edit and post it so we can hang out with you. Keep pushing and you’ll be getting that holy grail “TH-cam shop with multiple lifts” soon enough !
@@thebigpicture2032 I think I understand what you mean. A good friend of mine finally got his 10K Lift after he finally added another 2-bay shop next to his original 2 bay shop. He's in his early 40's. Been turning wrenches since he was a teenager...always dreamed of having a 4 bay shop with a lift. Now that he got the 4 bays and a nice lift it changed the way he does things...he was so used to NOT having a lift for all those years, and all that time it was making him push hard to reach that goal...now that he reached the goal he lost the "push" or the "drive" and along with it he lost interest in continuing to turn wrenches for a lot of reasons...burned out mostly. Over the years he's had an employee who he could trust to do complicated jobs so he could wear all the other hats running the shop which took-up most of his time. His employee just inherited some cash and is going to move away, leaving him stranded in a 4 bay shop with nobody to help. Now that he has a 4 bay shop and a nice lift his business has picked up and will be stuck doing it all by himself. He said these days you can't get a good mechanic who knows enough to be left alone because they are all either making 2-3 times the money or they have their own business. He's hired lots of "mechanics" over the years only to be left fixing the crap they left behind after he had to fire them. Doing something you love to do turns into doing something you hate once you get to a point of being too big to handle. a good "hobby" can turn into a nightmare. some people can handle it others can't. Do you want to wake up excited about your day or wake up dreading your day? He hardly ever uses the lift but when he does it saves him a ton of time and work...but that was what kept him "pushing"...the extra hard work without a lift. In DD's case, a lift means he reached a goal, but my guess is, it will change a lot of things mentally...because IMO what DD is doing is a "cool hobby" and getting a lift could cause it to become a burden. I know I'm not making much sense and couldn't put it in words right but when my friend got his lift it changed his whole business for the good and the bad...Bad Chad has a lift...it's outside in the freezing cold and from what I've seen he hardly ever uses it. Edit: Fitzee's doesn't use a lift yet he is happy and loves what he's doing....I'd love to have a lift too so don't get me wrong...just don't make having a lift your holy grail...your feather in your cap...the money it costs for a good lift could make for a great vacation with your family or another 57 chevy project.
Hardest working man on Y-tube, your youthful enthusiasm is inspiring, and you hold down a job!!! Glad you had fun for a while with friends and a road trip, loving your content.
The Biscayne is cool. Enjoying watching you convert this over to a two door. It's all about getting it to where 'you' can enjoy it! Tell Danny that primer smell will put hair on her chest.
My Dad had a 68 Biscayne 2 door post when I was growing up. I used to crawl up onto the package tray under the back glass and sleep. The good old days! This build is bringing back some very fond memories. And I have always loved this car. The big block makes this killer! Great job!
You are really close to the 100,000 mark. Really hope you make it I believe you will. I love this whole project with this car. Really love the one-off factor.
Dan I love how you do things everyone is not building a high dollar show car some people want something to drive and enjoy and still look good. You are my hero
Just remember that I as a watcher of your videos and there are probably others like me who can change out car parts, but have no welding skills whatsoever. I for one enjoy watching you cut out rusty metal and replace it, for I’ve never been able to do that and lived with the rust, until the car fell apart.
I was pretty much indifferent to the 4 door, 6 cyl. version of this car, when I heard you were going to do a two door conversation, I fell in love with it! Sweet hotrod Dan!
I never thought I would have any love for a 1966 Biscayne, Dan. But that's the point of your channel - you show us that with a little perspiration and love, any car can be cool. And you ARE the 2 door conversion master!
Dude! Don’t be so hard on yourself. I love what you’re doing with these cars. You’re taking cars that most guys would turn their nose up to and putting them back on the road, where they belong! Keep it up!
you know, i've only known of one other person who attempted to convert a 4 door to 2 door, and you are the only one to do it successfully multiple times. the other person cut the entire body of a '56 chevy in half, and removed a section about a foot wide, then wound up with a permanent seat on the struggle bus trying to recombine the two halves, in fact after years of trying to get things to line up half way decently and failing, he sold it as an unfinished project. your method is so simple and uncomplicated it is a thing of beauty and a mark of genius.
You may not like bodywork, but you do a great job. Love the Biscayne. Thanks for taking us to the strip, Terrific runs, looking foreward to more, hugely appreciated in Ontario......

I need to learn to weld. You make diy look so easy. I love the two door conversions. Gives us paycheque to paycheque guys an opportunity to own the unattainable! Love the tri-fives.
Hi Dan! I can tell you exactly why people are enjoying this videos of the Biscayne. It's because kids of the '60s and 70s didn't have a lot of cash to build hot rods and these cars were cheap at that time.
Thank you DD Speed shop for the video.love watching what you do watching you and your videos give me confidence to try different things to my cars.im a mechanic bye trade not a panel beater or as you say body man.watching you gives me confidence to try it I thank you for that.keep videos coming I really look forward to seeing more.
