I have a Forester Wilderness and one of the very first things I noticed in my test drive was how large the windows were and how easy it was for me to see while driving. Absolutely love it!
Alex, you should know your informative videos made a HUGE difference to our buying decision. From not knowing Subaru at all to now being a part of the Subaru family (vs. Toyota or Hyundai or Nissan or any other brand out there), you have played such an important role through the detailed content you post. Thank you! Hope more people connect with your channel and consider joining the ever-growing Subaru tribe.
I Have owned and am still running a 2006 Forester xt turbo. The SUV that started it all.2,5 Turbocharged. O to 60 in 6,7 seconds and 175 kw of power. It now has 340,000 km on the clock with no major failures and has never once left me stranded on the road. Did replace the head gaskets at 250k ,one radiator, front wheel bearings just recently and a number of batteries through the years. For the rest only regular service items. I always service it exactly on time ,use the best quality premium lubricants and filters and clean and polish every season change. Car look and runs like new. What more can I say. Best car I ever had period...
Just bought a 2023 Outback and I'm thrilled. You videos were part of my buying process! One of my favorite things in the visibility. It's amazing and I really appreciate that Subarus don't have stupidly large grilles. It's safer for people inside and outside the car. Thanks for your content!
Grill size is dependant on the engine size. Vehicles with bigger grills have them because they have bigger radiators, oil coolers, intercoolers, etc. That need good air flow.
Alex thanks so much for this video! I have owned 3 Subarus (Forester/Legacy/Outback) and all have been great vehicles to own. The Forester actually prevented serious injury to my wife when she was T-boned. Subarus are some of the safest vehicles made today!
Outstanding tutorial. A lot of these features I never even knew about, and unfortunately where I purchased my Forester and my mom‘s crosstrek these things were never shown to us. I’m sure you inform your customers of these things and that’s what distinguishes a mediocre sales person from a great sales person. What I really wish I had on both vehicles is the vehicle indicators on the side mirrors, had a loaner with that and they are crazy accurate. I wish I would have gotten xmode also. Keep up the great work, Alex
I have a 2023 WRX and one of the coolest things about my car is the awesome visibility. Your awareness while driving is so much more it makes it more fun to drive.
I just bought an 2023 Onyx Outback, I love it. I came from being a Ford Truck guy, my mom bought a Ascent and it really began to grow on me. I wanted to trade in my F150 and I drove an outback and fell in love.
Hi Alex, thank you so much, informative and enjoyable. Just purchased our new Subaru Outback Sport here in Australia and your segments are helping me so much in finding our way around the vehicle. I must say, simply no regrets and possibly the best vehicle I’ve ever driven. Supreme comfort, practical and of course safe.
Hello, Subaru symmetrical AWD is literally symmetrical. Because of the layout and the somewhat rare inclusion of a longitudinal engine/transmission/driveshaft/and rear differential all running 'symmetrically' down the center of the vehicle. Equal length CV half shafts as well. I think it's unique as most non-exotic cars use a transverse engine/transmission layout. The Boxer is a packaging decision that allows for a low center of gravity. Lots of inline and V engines run just fine for decades but lowering the CG and always active AWD makes for a highly secure passive safety system in inclement weather or low traction situations. You could swerve to miss an obstacle and maintain control and composure. The entire ground up design consideration from Subaru is about control and safety. Pretty cool.
I'm looking at the wrx. The internet would have you believe they are unreliable headaches, but in reality, a bunch people modify them and get them tuned improperly. If you leave them stock or tune them properly, they are very reliable.
Alex, what a great video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are amazing!!! There is not another TH-cam car reviewer who has even come close to the information you included in this video. Wen I worked for CarMax, I sold a lot of Subaru's that were on the property. I sold the safety features. Yes I was selling previously owned vehicles, but the safety features were there. You don't mention the safety of the vehicle, you are missing the boat. Great job!!!
My 185000 miles 2013 impreza hatch limited was tboned from 40 mph from 60 mph Toyota, my side airbags deployed-car still drivable to off road safely.2 months later I bought 2022 impreza hatchback limited
Thank you for all your great videos. I just got my new 2023 Subaru Forester a few weeks ago, and your videos helped me find my way around the vehicle. I absolutely love my Forester and very impressed with fuel consumption , comfort, safety and space.🚙💞
Purchased a new 2019 Ascent which now has 60k miles. The boxer engine as well as the "eyesight" program are top notch. My boxer engine is appx 274 hp, 4 cylinder turbo. I treat it very nicely yet if I need to merge or pass, the power is exceptional beginning as low as 2000 rpm! This means you have a ton of power in the low range if needed. Best attributes would be the exceptional ride quality and quiet cabin on the highway as well as the fit and finish. Everyone comments on how nice the Ascent feels on the road. The interior materials, around the dash, for example, are of a very good quality, not cheap plastic. Everything in the car feels like quality and it is. I only have one beef! The lighting system at night, with the rear gate open is extremely poor. There is just one small lite on the sidewall and this does nothing.
Hello, you sold the Forester fantastically. This is exactly what I need. Extra long commutes and some off roading to get to job sites. This has everything I need and enhances what I use like Cruze control. Was more of a Toyota Hyundai myself, but this is just perfect! Thanx. This is my next car. Will wait for the 2024 wilderness to come out.
Bought my 1st subura this year I got a 2021 Forrester and I love it. All the safety features are great . I feel safer in this car then any others cars I owned in the past .
Alex, your videos are so great and informative. And they are reinforcing my decision to purchasing a 2024 Outback Limited XT for my wife. This will be our first Subaru and possibly the last vehicle we will buy (we’re 73 years of age). Notice, I did not say old as we’re very active. Thanks again for your videos, they really make a difference.
Test drove a Crosstrek recently and the greater visibility at the mirror was something I immediately noticed! Never owned or drove a Subaru up to that, but the more I learn about them the more I like them! Hoping my next car will be a Subaru
In Japan, the luggage has a switch to fold down the rear seat, which is very convenient, but it is not in the overseas version. The place for the switch is buried, and it seems that it will be possible to attach it.
We've owned 5 Subarus, all great cars. Here in the upper midwest their AWD is great for our winter and spring driving conditions where you can get more of an off road experience than you may like without even leaving the highway ;) I've got a '15 Legacy with all the options. I do love the Eye-sight system. Like any automated system you still need to be observant and keep track of what's going on around you independent of the information you get from it. But it's a great additional layer safety.
Thanks Alex. I called your dealership, bought two 10 year/100,000 mile contracts, one tire and wheel class tract and two dent and ding contracts. I demanded that you get the commission
Still loving my 2018 Forester. I have the Limited, just enough options on it. The stuff missing is just toys. Not much difference between the Limited and Touring models. Not mentioned in this video, but my saleman told me that the low profile engines are designed to go under the vehicle in a headon collision instead of into the cabin. My vehicle has so many safety features, it's almost impossible to have a severe accident. I bought my vehicle because the Forester was rated one of the safest vehicles on the road according to Consumer Reports. I recommend anyone to refer to Consumer Reports for information on the vehicle you are interested in. Whatever Subaru you decide on, you will love it. Safe and fun vehicles.
The self breaking via eyesight can be quite jarring if activated almost like being in an actual accident but I guess with no damage to the car. At least on my 2018 Forester perhaps Subaru has fine tuned it a bit. more.
That steel bar in the door frame also keeps the opposite doors in a side impact straight. When first responders get to an accident, they go to the opposite doors to get them open as quickly as possible in cars that don’t have that those doors bend and it’s harder to get them open costing valuable time, Subaru engineering is elite in the area of safety.
I sold my vehicle last year in order to replace my wife's car. Subaru is one of the vehicles in my replacement shopping list. Thank you for producing this video to cement my choice 👍🏼
Correct - it’s a person’s name too but yea go to Germany and you will always hear the “e” as well as in the dealerships in the US. :). One day…..maybe…..I will have one. :)
Yeah, well this is mur’ca and we beat the naTzees. Porsh. Although a few more years of Fox News and the alt-right and we’ll all be goose-stepping for kraut in lederhosen to planes to assist Russian aggression.
I’m planning on getting a forester. It’s the visibility that sold me. I hate the idea of the CVT but so many cars have them now it’s hard to get away from them.
Good think Cranky, it’s all a matter of perception. Like you said, today almost every auto brand uses CVT. On the other hand there is no other auto brand that has perfected the CVT like the Subaru. I am on my 4 Subaru. All of them “including the most hated Subaru (2019 Subaru Limited Ascent) Have been extremely reliable. My first one was a 2012 Outback which was given to my son in law. It’s still running with over 280,000 miles.
@@ericpizarro3084 Honda and Toyota cvt’s are flawless. They’ve been perfect from the start. Subaru uses a modified Jatco design (for the boxer engine) and it’s had its share of issues over the years. But as long as you change your cvt fluid every 30k miles it’ll be fine. It’s when you overheat them and drive them hard, the chain slip, solenoids, and the valve body’s varnish and burn up. -30 year master mechanic
I'll argue that the lack of pistons fighting gravity is a minimally noticeable benefit in modern engines, but agree with the rest of your points for the most part. I especially agree with the blind spots. Whenever I get in my wife's accent, it feels like I'm driving a windowless brick in comparison. Also as to your point about the lower center of gravity, I feel like you left out mentioning how much this matters despite the overall size of the vehicle otherwise because of just how much of the total vehicle weight is tied up in the engine alone, not to mention the transmission which is also brought low down to connect to the engine's drive shaft.
@@BrunskitANM I hear you. But these days, you want to "correct" someone wearing huge sunglasses holding a Starbucks it's not Pouch - have fun. I don't think ppl at Pouch even care anymore.
I used to work for subaru and There are still subaru oil filters on the bottom and they’re on a wrx, wrx sti and the H6 legacy/outback are on the bottom
The complaints of windshield cracking and breaking, batteries getting drained, rodents eating wires, continue for the 5th generation Forester. If not for that I would buy one.
A proven formula with standard AWD, can't go wrong here. It's no wonder why so many choose Subaru as their vehicles up North. Your videos are awesome brother, yes I'm a bit biased to Subaru, but your videos did influence in helping me make a decision and I just got a new MY23 Premium and I love it. You should ditch the CXZ and come to the Subie side ;) haha and this is coming from a former Honda everything owner..
Subaru is quickly becoming the most popular brand in North America. They make great vehicles. Just bought a 2023 Outback, Touring XT. Absolutely love it. High quality interior, comfortable, fully loaded, great practicality, drives like a car, has plenty of power, the tech console works flawlessly. A nice and useful feature is the roof rails have built in fold out crossbars. Frankly, I think it’s nicer in some ways than my 2018 BMW X3.
I got an Ascent 2020 There's something else about Symmetrical all wheel drive meaning: The weight and, of course distribución of the power train is fully balanced.- left and right weight of the car.
We’ve been Subaru owners for decades, starting with a 1998 Impreza, which is still on the road with its current owner, we’ve had Foresters, Outback’s and my daughters Ascent. Our 2006 Outback is still running strong. Other then head gaskets, major job, it’s been just routine maintenance. We’re very satisfied and will be Subaru buyers for life.
Why is the night visibility never mention in any of your videos. I’m having lots of trouble with being able to see on a dark road! Are the headlights adjustable? I have too drive with the brights on!
A;ex: I have noticed the competition used the trunk volume i a specific way - below the trunk cover. Since Forester has great visibility, the trunk cover is relatively low and the rear window is big. So the trunk volume is misleading. When packed to the roof, Forester has great usability. Actually, trunk usability is very important for me and one of the big upsides of owning a Forester.
The blind spot detector/light should be in both positions (ie: in the mirror as well as outside of the mirror). I prefer to know if I am in someone blind spot when I approach them. If they cut me off, I can also audibly say that they moved into my lane while having the blind spot indicator light, light up, and my dash cam will pick up my voice stating such. May help with an insurance assessment.
Thanks! Here's a video I made covering the trim level. The first 9 minutes of this video covers the base trim and standard features on the Forester. Let me know if you have any questions th-cam.com/video/onaCkw3J8C4/w-d-xo.html
what the heck?! is that a Tokyo Roki oil filter I see at 2:00?! why does a base model forester have the best oil filter and my outback limited has the garbage USA made blue filter? :(
Waiting for my manual Crosstrek to arrive for April delivery. I just wish the Eyesight had been available. The CVT may be adequate for some operators, but I found it damningly unpleasant during the test drive.
Alex, this was a very informative video on the Subaru vehicle! I am very happy with my 2022 Outback purchase and your video explains why! I am a subscribed viewer, keep up the great work!👍
Thank you so much for this video. I am new to Subaru and don't know much about the car (Crosstrek). The salesperson did not explain too much and I find myself frustrated trying to make things work for me.
Very upset that Subaru is eliminating all physical controls and incorporating them in a gigantic center screen. Reaction time is slower going through the screens. This is a dangerous trend and prematurely ages the vehicles.
I’m a Subaru fan and my first car was an 08 Impreza, but I have to say the stuff you said about the boxer is kinda false. The boxer doesn’t perform any better Due to gravity, when Subaru people talk about gravity it’s because the boxer is more compact and sits lower than a conventional engine. That lowers the center of gravity to aid cornering. However, the boxer engine is prone to blowing head gaskets because of how the oil is constantly on certain seals that wouldn’t be touched in a normal engine, They work great when they work, but do need more upkeep to prevent failure.
I wish the Eye Sight cameras on my '23 Crosstrek Limited were mounted flush to the windshield, their placement makes cleaning the interior surface a pain.
That’s odd they should be. At least they are on my 2016 Outback limited and 2014 Forester Touring. I had to pay extra for both as they weren’t standard then.
But in order to get any interior color other than Gloomy Grey or Boring Black is to buy the Touring so you can get the Saddle Brown. Also in mid spring of 24, the new Forester will have the Toyota hybrid system.
@@EdwardCBurton I’m a retired psychologist. Whenever there’s civil unrest, wars, economies are not secure people run to drab, dark colors. When there’s peace and economies are stable people flock to cheerful colors. My wife and I finished building our house in 19. It’s up about 1/2 up the 1/4 of a Mtn we bought. We painted our house yellow with white trim and Hunter green shutters. A neighbor who also lives on our private road but on the Cyn floor complained that our house is too cheerful. Their house is like 70% of the homes in the USA, gloomy grey with white trim. Their interior motif is dark and drab. Their cars are dark grey with black interior. They’re both heavy drinkers and seem depressed often.
@@Doc1855 I suppose I can see where you're coming from. Perhaps it's simply perception. I love the clinical gray of my Forester. Stately, futuristic and solidarity. It really does make me think of Star Trek. I'm not sure a bright "cheerful" color would have the same effect on me.
I would have bought a Suburu if it weren't for CVT transmissions. There is no life in the power train now. I ended up getting a Mazda CX 50 as it was superior to the Crosstrek and Forester I test drove in every way
Every way? Dude it’s a $60k car only sold in EU and JP and you’re comparing it to a Subaru that goes for half the price. 🤡 By your standards, the Audi RS6 Avant sport wagon is better “in every way” than your Mazda. What kinda peasant cares about a measly doubling in price? Doth protest too much.
Alex, I'm new to the channel. I've always wanted a Subaru but it never aligned. I've read about the longevity and reliability of the boxer engine. How does the turbo engine stack up? I recently test drove the outback and was impressed with the tightness and drive of the car. I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.
Hi Alex, I've just purchase forester. Watched some videos in TH-cam how the brake mitigation works. My question is if your foot is on the brakes pedal, is mitigation still works? I try a little bit close to an object and I don't hear any alarm. The mitigation switch is on. Thanks. Jonathan
Wow! Bold statements at around 11:40. Subaru is not the only one which offers a complete stop if there's a traffic jam in front. My Škoda Kodiaq has it and let's not begin talking about Tesla which is entirely next level... 🤔
I can’t believe these have fans anymore. I’ve had 2 STIs since 2018 but they were manual and I am a big fan but I tried a Forester and just couldn’t get past the CVT. It was awful. The high revving drone and lack of pull/torque due to gearbox bearing slow was just painful. I want to love these, all they need to do is get rid of the CVT in the Forester and Outback. Bring some more powerful engines in the line up too. Subaru feels like they’ve lost their way.
Been driving a Civic for 6 years and I'm looking at Subaru and Mazda. I've developed a hatred for the CVT transmission but I wonder if a Subaru CVT feels any different.
I thought they all had AWD as well.. till i got my first car, 2016 impreza.. they call it the proud edition... its only a 2WD :/ i found out after i had purchased it
we live in 'merica... it's pronounced "porch" because you're going to spend a lot of time on your porch looking at that porch parked in the driveway waiting for parts to get fixed.
Love my Subaru. Just keep in mind if your windshield needs replacement as my 2016 Outback did due to a construction truck on highway you need to have eyesight recalibrated. And never tint the front windshield. I have all my windows tinted with llumar clear window tint minus the windshield.
@@alexpmo ok thank you I have a Subaru Forester 2013 and love it so much I want the same thing but thinking maybe hybrid is the future. I only have 90, 000 Kilometres (56,000 miles) so I could wait another 2 years then. I don't put much mileage
Here is my quick review of my 2020 Forester Touring! ---------CONS: -Gas Mileage: Quoted 26 City, 33 HWY and 29 combined I get 23.5 Average in a mix of like 70%city 30%HWY. Not terrible for an AWD Crossover SUV but nowhere near their averages -Auto Start/Stop: Not Subaru's fault because it's forced on automakers but It resets every time you turn off the car so you have to remember to turn it off every time you start the car. I know it's meant to save gas but Stop/Starting is tripling the wear on vital components of the internals of your engine. Since the pistons in the Boxer engine go sideways it's a very noticeable start/stop compared to other regular engine cars. -Infotainment plastic/Piano Black interior plastics...It's a horrendous trend in the auto industry because of how filthy these shiny black finishings get. It get's dusty moments after detailing your car. Every dust particle, and fingerprint is highlighted. And the infotainment is hard to see sometimes because it's so glossy, and is constantly dusty in the California sunshine where I live. -Dull Silver finish & Chrome trim on my black Touring edition. I HATE chrome, and it lines the windows...But that's fixable, and the Silver trim on parts of the doors, bumpers, and dull silver finish on the top of the side mirrors looks sun faded even though it's not, and seems to grab onto stains, marks, and doesn't look very good even after cleaning it. -The Obnoxious beeping telling you to keep your eyes on the road, take a break, etc. The Electronics on the car have tripped out a couple times for me, but nothing turning the car off then on didn't fix. -Heated Steering Wheel: only parts of the steering wheel heat up, and not a large portion of the top of it. --------PROS: -Ride Quality: Low Center Of Gravity for amazing control, and handles so so well. Turns on a dime with the shorter wheel base, and the turning itself is effortless, and smooth. Really an effortless car to drive, and fit's even in compact spaces Great for San Francisco) -Interior Quality: Honestly this is one of the nicest interiors in any car around the same price range. I got the saddle brown leather, and everything is just exceptional quality, and there are pieces of that leather everywhere on all the touch points. The Golf Ball texture on the plastic pieces are unique, and amazing quality. Nothing in the interior feels cheap (Except for the Piano Black) -Driver/Passenger space: There is so so much room inside of this car. It's roomier than other Crossover SUV's much larger than the Forester. The Cockpit is spacious, and airy and visibility is greater than any car I've ever been in. I think it's second to none. And those Larger windows, and sightlines not only make it safer, but it FEELS bigger than it is, and it's already very roomy. The rear seats fit large adults with plenty of Room, the rear cargo is so versatile, and easy to put down the seats, and jam a whole table inside. -Technology: It has heated seats for ALL 4 SEATS! The Eyesight Technology is magnificent, and the Adaptive Cruise Control works so well, along with the auto steering feature for highway use. Subaru Starlink allows you to start your car from your phone, and set the temperature! As well as locate the vehicle, lock/unlock, and set the alarm off. The Parking sensors, and Reverse auto brake when you get too close to something always work very well. The Reverse Camera is a good quality, and clear. 10m way power seat for the driver, and 8 way for the passenger! Blind Spot is great, the headlights are so clear, and move when you turn and it is so necessary driving a mountain road at night. The Harmon Kardon sound system is incredible. It's punchy and clear enough for an audiophile like myself with that subwoofer in the back! Apple Car Play, 2 USB in front 2 in the back! Hands free entry is amazing, heated mirrors, panoramic sunroof (with a mesh so the wind noise doesn't hurt your ears) The mirrors illuminate when you get close to your car at night. I can go on, and on. Dual Climate control, rear vents, turn signal on mirrors, the screen above the infotainment has a lot of extra info. PHYSICAL Climate buttons, and Volume/Seeking. a CD PLAYER lol All in all this car is even better than I thought when i bought it. 20,000 miles in absolutely no issue, and when I got T-boned the body held up well, and was able to be repaired. Very safe car, very smooth handling car, and in my opinion I think it's the best Value for your dollar at this price range. the AWD system is phenomenal and allowed me to Trek through Lake Tahoe during these crazy snow storms with no issue at all, in fact it does it better than those huge dumb trucks, and Mammoth SUV's everyone else drives. I'm 33, 5ft 10 and have so much space. I even nap in the back seats sometimes. The Rav4 and CRV just aren't as capable. The Rav 4 feels older than it is both interior-wise and how it handles. The Seats are good material, and comfy but the rest of the car feels so outdated, and filled with cheap looking plastics and simple design language. The CRV has a really nice interior, but the infotainment and shifter area aren't good looking, and the exterior is just uglier not to mention neither of these SUVs handle as good as the Subaru Forester. Thanks for Reading! My 2020 Forester Touring get's a 9/10 for me. It's an Exceptional tool, that is safe, comfortable, and a pleasure to drive in the city, beach, mountain paths, snow, mud, and horribly maintained streets of California. I'm reminded how good of a value my car is whenever I hop into a CRV, Rav4, Mazda 5. It just has it all.
Thank you for the review. I love the Touring in the green exterior and saddle brown interior. It’s a stunning combination. Extremely rare, but stunning. I owned a fleet of 2014 Foresters and a lot has changed since then. Mine were absolutely horrendous for reliability. Something that I brushed off initially until it began affecting business. Despite all of the problems, I still love the Forester. I think because it got me to the trailheads and up and down the muddy, snowy, wet, fire roads without issue. My personal vehicle is a 2021 Toyota Tundra and my wife has a 2020 Toyota Sequoia. The big dumb vehicles you dislike so. However, my Forester could never compete with the capabilities of these vehicles. Except in one area. Fuel economy, they both are atrocious obviously. Thanks again for the review. I wondered how they’d improved from a customers point of view.
@@haroldbeauchamp3770 Not going to lie, I loved the 4Runner if not completely for it's exterior looks, and space. As The interior although left much to be desired for the price tag, IS basically indestructible, and will work long after the engine does...and that's a very long time! Toyota is unbeatable in reliability and it shows in "Toyota Tax" on used Toyotas. The MPG's are bad as well as just being overkill for 90% of the people that buy them., and just taking up more space than I want in my parking spot, as well as parking lots lol Small lots with squisjy 4Runner steering isn.t my favorite. The shorter Wheel Base on the Forester is actually an underrated Selling point...Turning on a dime, and not taking up as much length as even some cars is a super power in tight. love it. Thanks for your comment! the Jade Green with Brown is amazing! Such a Jungle Vibe lol
@@haroldbeauchamp3770 Also the Big Truck/SUV comment was pointed at their AWD vs 4WD ability on normal roads lol I was seeing $80,000 Lake Tahoe Locals 4WD Trucks slip, and slide on simple Icy Roads with better tires while mine and other Subaru's Symmetrical AWD is just cutting through it. The Subies are definitely not as Capable in rougher terrain, and more serious off roading and deep weather. But I was pleasantly surprised how capable they are in the more moderate to rougher terrain. As far as the 95% of the terrain people mostly drive on, I'd say Subaru's rally car heritage really shines through on how often their intelligent AWD systems, and the X-Mode software seems to work better than more physically capable, larger, and more expensive options. Perfect example of engineering working smarter, and more efficiently vs the majority of obstacles as opposed to the Bigger, stronger, more horsepower "one size defeats all" approach. Just something I noticed!
I have a Forester Wilderness and one of the very first things I noticed in my test drive was how large the windows were and how easy it was for me to see while driving. Absolutely love it!

My 2021 Impreza is my first Subaru and I can see myself never buying another brand again. Loved my Honda Accord, but my Subaru drives so much better.
Happy to help!
Thank you for explaining all the features!! I purchased a 2019 Limited Forrester last year and I absolutely love it!!! 😊
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed it
Test drove a Crosstrek recently and the greater visibility at the mirror was something I immediately noticed!
Hi Alex , I can't wait to see your Video on redesign 2024 Foresters . keep up the good work ,
Thanks! I’ll be sure to cover it once it’s been released 😃
If only they didn't come with CVT transmissions, this is the only car brand i'd drive
A fine tour on the models. Thank you Alex! 👍🇺🇸
Yes, the visibility forward is amazing.
My wife still managed to hit the lamp post in front of the house, but I have not issues :)
Thanks for the video I purchased a Subaru 2017 Forrester
I sold my vehicle last year in order to replace my wife's car. Subaru is one of the vehicles in my replacement shopping list. Thank you for producing this video to cement my choice 👍🏼
As a Black man, the only car my wife will drive is a Cadillac. She’d divorce me if I brought home a Subaru for her.
You're welcome! Happy to be of assistance
Germans pronounce the E at the end of Porsche. That’s why you’ve heard that pronunciation [porsh-uh].
Correct - it’s a person’s name too but yea go to Germany and you will always hear the “e” as well as in the dealerships in the US. :). One day…..maybe…..I will have one. :)
@@pda4you Hey, I can just pronounce it but don’t own it lol. At least I have my Subaru.

It’s still running with over 280,000 miles.
we have the 2019 Forestee and honestly most people wouldn't be able to tell
@@ericpizarro3084 Honda and Toyota cvt’s are flawless. They’ve been perfect from the start. Subaru uses a modified Jatco design (for the boxer engine) and it’s had its share of issues over the years. But as long as you change your cvt fluid every 30k miles it’ll be fine. It’s when you overheat them and drive them hard, the chain slip, solenoids, and the valve body’s varnish and burn up. -30 year master mechanic
In Australia the base model has blind spot monitor on the door mirror.
If you own a Porsche you pronounce it any way you want.
Lol
Yeah but there’s a limit some ppl literally pronounce it pouch💀💀💀

I bought my 2015 Forester brand new, and still love it!
How many miles can I get out of the Forester wilderness transmission?
A proven formula with standard AWD, can't go wrong here. It's no wonder why so many choose Subaru as their vehicles up North. Your videos are awesome brother, yes I'm a bit biased to Subaru, but your videos did influence in helping me make a decision and I just got a new MY23 Premium and I love it. You should ditch the CXZ and come to the Subie side ;) haha and this is coming from a former Honda everything owner..
I have a 2018 Subaru crosstrek premium. It takes 10 min to get warm in the cabin. What should I look for.
I got an Ascent 2020
There's something else about Symmetrical all wheel drive meaning: The weight and, of course distribución of the power train is fully balanced.- left and right weight of the car.
Hey vato! You must be my Spanish brother!
My first Subaru was a Legacy. I loved that car. My latest Subaru is the 2022 wrx. It may be my favorite car that I have ever owned!
Same here. First Subaru was a Liberty (Australia). Now Wrx vb, love both of them.
Traded a 1 month old 2023 RAV 4 for a 2024 Outback - much better vehicle for the money. Very happy with my Outback.
Subaru is the best vehicle on the road in my opinion. Safest and also cheap to insure.
100% agree!
I love my 23 Impreza with the 5 speed but I hate not having eyesight mainly for the cruise control
Hi @Alex. Love your informative videos. Wonder if you have had a chance to review the base Forrester trim?
Not sure! My guess is because the Forester is produced in Japan and the Outback is produced in the US?
Thank you for all the info .I'm thinking of buying my second subaru soon .
Waiting for my manual Crosstrek to arrive for April delivery.
I just wish the Eyesight had been available.
The CVT may be adequate for some operators, but I found it damningly unpleasant during the test drive.
I love a manual transmission, however, like you mentioned, Subaru stupidly makes you sacrifice features to get it.
Alex, this was a very informative video on the Subaru vehicle! I am very happy with my 2022 Outback purchase and your video explains why! I am a subscribed viewer, keep up the great work!👍
That Base model looks kinda funky without the rear spoiler
Great assessment! I'd prefer the Forester with the moonroof and cloth seats in white pearl or silver.
Many of these, is the reason I switched to Subaru. Very well done! Thank you for this. 👍
50k views in 2 weeks! Good job 👏
I love my Subaru Forester and Ascent.
Very helpful to understand
Awesome video, as always.
Only thing I don't like about a Subaru is the CVT, and yes, I have a forester as well.
Alex explains well,....I wonder if people come from far away to buy from Alex because of his ability and likeability.
Thank you!
Love is what makes a Subaru, Subaru
Thank you so much for this video. I am new to Subaru and don't know much about the car (Crosstrek). The salesperson did not explain too much and I find myself frustrated trying to make things work for me.
Very upset that Subaru is eliminating all physical controls and incorporating them in a gigantic center screen. Reaction time is slower going through the screens. This is a dangerous trend and prematurely ages the vehicles.
Way more positives than negatives with the latest subaru's.
HI, Alex, i saw two cable connecting the negative pole of battery. any reason? thanks.
Weird, I didn’t hear anything about the relationship head gaskets have with boxer engines.
great video Alex, really a lot of good info 💯
Great video…thank you for the useful info
Have a Gen 2 BRZ, fun little revving engine.
However, the boxer engine is prone to blowing head gaskets because of how the oil is constantly on certain seals that wouldn’t be touched in a normal engine,
They work great when they work, but do need more upkeep to prevent failure.
It's more like Star Trek gray to me. Sorry, I'm a fan.
By your standards, the Audi RS6 Avant sport wagon is better “in every way” than your Mazda.
Thanks.
Love is what makes a Subaru a Subaru ❤
Yes , your pronunciation of Porsche was correct, congrats 👍🙂
I'm curious, why don't all 2023's get the 3rd eye? Why is it exclusive to only some trims?
Hi Alex, I've just purchase forester. Watched some videos in TH-cam how the brake mitigation works. My question is if your foot is on the brakes pedal, is mitigation still works? I try a little bit close to an object and I don't hear any alarm. The mitigation switch is on. Thanks. Jonathan
great video!, i absolutely love my 2009 subaru impreza
I seriously doubt Subaru feels they've lost their way. They'd probably argue that point.
Been driving a Civic for 6 years and I'm looking at Subaru and Mazda. I've developed a hatred for the CVT transmission but I wonder if a Subaru CVT feels any different.
At 42k miles on 2017 outback odo why can't dealer tell me why dash is lit up like a pinball machine? :(
I thought they all had AWD as well.. till i got my first car, 2016 impreza.. they call it the proud edition... its only a 2WD :/ i found out after i had purchased it
we live in 'merica... it's pronounced "porch" because you're going to spend a lot of time on your porch looking at that porch parked in the driveway waiting for parts to get fixed.
😂😂😂
The new Porsche are pretty reliable these days.
Love my Subaru. Just keep in mind if your windshield needs replacement as my 2016 Outback did due to a construction truck on highway you need to have eyesight recalibrated. And never tint the front windshield. I have all my windows tinted with llumar clear window tint minus the windshield.
Would you know if the forester will come in a hybrid form for 2024?
I believe the 2024 forester will likely remain unchanged. We may see hybrid in 2025
@@alexpmo ok thank you I have a Subaru Forester 2013 and love it so much I want the same thing but thinking maybe hybrid is the future. I only have 90, 000 Kilometres (56,000 miles) so I could wait another 2 years then. I don't put much mileage
You do a lot of videos…you should buy yourself a cellphone gimbal for filming. Makes for nice smooth vids. We love our ‘22 Forester limited.
What is better as ADAS stereocameras or radars?
Here is my quick review of my 2020 Forester Touring!
---------CONS:
-Gas Mileage: Quoted 26 City, 33 HWY and 29 combined I get 23.5 Average in a mix of like 70%city 30%HWY. Not terrible for an AWD Crossover SUV but nowhere near their averages
-Auto Start/Stop: Not Subaru's fault because it's forced on automakers but It resets every time you turn off the car so you have to remember to turn it off every time you start the car.
--------PROS:
-Ride Quality: Low Center Of Gravity for amazing control, and handles so so well. Turns on a dime with the shorter wheel base, and the turning itself is effortless, and smooth. Really an effortless car to drive, and fit's even in compact spaces Great for San Francisco)
-Interior Quality: Honestly this is one of the nicest interiors in any car around the same price range. I got the saddle brown leather, and everything is just exceptional quality, and there are pieces of that leather everywhere on all the touch points. The Golf Ball texture on the plastic pieces are unique, and amazing quality. Nothing in the interior feels cheap (Except for the Piano Black)
-Driver/Passenger space: There is so so much room inside of this car.
PHYSICAL Climate buttons, and Volume/Seeking. a CD PLAYER lol
All in all this car is even better than I thought when i bought it.
